Chapter 234: Encounter with the Strongest
Chapter 234: Encounter with the Strongest (End of Chapter)
Sitting quietly, Feng Yu reread the announcement over and over.
"The Thirteenth Peak Master has entered the Eighth Tier," Feng Yu thought, feeling increasingly dejected as this information flashed through his mind.
Recalling his initial refusal of the Thirteenth Peak Master's invitation, Feng Yu felt a sense of suffocation.
Had the Thirteenth Peak Master not extended the invitation, Feng Yu wouldn't feel this way. Out of all the testers, only two had caught the eye of the Thirteenth Peak Master.
But he had been chosen, and if he hadn't refused, he would be a disciple of the Thirteenth Peak Master now.
"Given the circumstances back then, my decision wasn't wrong," Feng Yu assured himself as he began to reevaluate his choices.
During the Seven-Star Cave test, the Thirteenth Peak Master was only at the Seventh Tier, while the Great Peak Master had already reached the Eighth.
Even if the Thirteenth Peak Master had the potential to enter the Eighth Tier, it was merely a possibility. Choosing the Great Peak Master, who was already established at that level, was the more practical decision.
"Who would've thought the Thirteenth Peak Master would advance so quickly?" Feng Yu sighed.
Not just him, but everyone in the Chi Chun Star Domain and the Annan Star Alliance was taken by surprise.
"Wait a minute," Feng Yu muttered to himself. "I should've seen this coming."
"Mo Li predicted this, didn't he?"
Feng Yu's eyes widened as he remembered Mo Li's astonished expression when he learned that Feng Yu had refused the Thirteenth Peak Master's offer in favor of the Great Peak Master.
"Mo Li knew about the Thirteenth Peak Master's limitless potential back then."
Feng Yu looked up at the sky. "But Mo Li is from a Seventh Tier force. Even if he made the wrong choice, it wouldn't have mattered much. I, on the other hand, had to make the most advantageous choice for my family."
"And at that time, the Great Peak Master was the best option for me!" Feng Yu shook his head.
"What a pity that opportunity is now lost," he lamented, feeling dejected.
He knew that he had missed the most important opportunity of his life—the chance to join the Thirteenth Peak Master.
Even Feng Yu realized that the Thirteenth Peak Master, who had entered the Eighth Tier before the age of a hundred, would achieve greatness.
At the Thirteenth Peak, Mo Li and Wu Lan were stunned.
"The Peak Master has entered the Eighth Tier?"
"So soon?"
Mo Li blinked, still exhilarated by his decision to join the Thirteenth Peak Master. He had foreseen that the Peak Master would eventually reach the Eighth Tier, and he knew that attaching himself to this rising star would bring boundless benefits.
However, he never expected it to happen so quickly.
"Eighth Tier?" Wu Lan opened her mouth to speak but stopped.
She felt proud of her Peak Master's achievement but didn't fully grasp its implications. The presence of Lin Yuan would soon reshape the landscape of the surrounding star domains and even the star alliance.
As a mere Third Tier cultivator with an ordinary background, she owed her position as the Peak Master's disciple purely to luck.
Well, not entirely luck. Her top-ten finish in the Planet Arena Tournament had also played a part.
"Fools have their blessings," Mo Li muttered as he glanced at Wu Lan. He had schemed and exerted himself during the Seven-Star Cave test, aiming to impress the Thirteenth Peak Master.
Yet Wu Lan, with her plain silver emblem, had also been chosen, achieving what he had strived for.
Mo Li couldn't help but admit that sometimes, luck played a significant role.
At the very least, for Wu Lan, becoming a disciple of the Thirteenth Peak Master guaranteed her a high status in the future.
Deep within the grand hall, Lin Yuan was sensing the changes within his body.
"My inner world has become more complete," he noted. When he had integrated the three cosmic treasures, his inner world had already undergone significant improvements.
But now, as he entered the Eighth Tier, his inner world had not only expanded to a radius of twenty-five thousand miles but also seemed to have matured fully.
"World Origin," Lin Yuan murmured as he observed intently.
In the Azure World, Lin Yuan had replaced the world's consciousness with his own, becoming a 'heavenly dao' existence.
But compared to this moment, there was a qualitative difference.
Before, Lin Yuan had 'controlled' the Azure World, but now, he felt a sense of oneness with his inner world.
"Primordial Spirit," Lin Yuan willed, and the Solar Nascent Soul emerged from his body, facing him as they both knelt.
A terrifying solar power surged within the Solar Nascent Soul, forming an incandescent world infused with spatial rule insights. This fiery world rapidly expanded, reaching a span of twenty thousand miles in an instant.
"After reaching the Eighth Tier, even without relying on the Yin-Yang Taiji, I can create a flame world solely with the solar rule and spatial rule," Lin Yuan realized.
The fusion of the Greater Yin and Greater Yang into the Taiji perfected his power, making it easier to create a small world. That was why he had been able to forge his inner world at the peak of the Sixth Tier.
Now, as an Eighth Tier cultivator, his profound understanding of the solar rule over the years had reached an extreme level. Thus, even with the extreme nature of solar power, he could still create a flame world by leveraging his insights into spatial rules.
However, in terms of stability, a pure flame world fell short of a Taiji world.
"Hmm?" Lin Yuan's heart stirred as he sensed something. His consciousness sank into the depths of his mind, arriving before the majestic Myriad Worlds Gate.
"After entering the Eighth Tier, the Myriad Worlds Gate has become more solid," Lin Yuan observed. Ever since he stepped into the Sixth Tier, Lin Yuan had known that the gate he saw was merely a projection of the true Myriad Worlds Gate.
His life level was insufficient to bear the weight of the actual gate.
However, as his strength and life constantly transformed, this projection of the gate had gradually solidified.
"It's a pity that entering the Eighth Tier hasn't unlocked any additional functions of the Myriad Worlds Gate," Lin Yuan thought, feeling a bit disappointed. But he soon shook off this emotion.
The gate had already provided him with immense help. Without it, he would still be struggling on Planet Canglan, far from the lofty position he now held.
"I wonder what level of strength is required to fully bear the Myriad Worlds Gate?" Lin Yuan mused.
The current Eighth Tier was far from enough, and even the Ninth Tier might not be sufficient.
After further observing the gate and confirming that he hadn't missed anything, Lin Yuan's consciousness returned to reality.
"Demon Jade Space?" Lin Yuan sensed the mark of the Demon Jade in the depths of his soul.
He perceived a vast and mysterious space that he could enter with a mere thought, thanks to the connection forged by the Demon Jade Imprint.
"Never mind," Lin Yuan decided. "Although my strength isn't inferior to the peak of the Eighth Tier in terms of combat power, my realm is still at the initial stage of the Eighth Tier."
Lin Yuan shook his head slightly. To enter the Demon Jade Space, one would ideally be at the pinnacle of the Eighth Tier.
He planned to cultivate for a while longer and make more preparations before considering entering that space.
Thus, Lin Yuan had focused most of his energy on comprehending the spatial rule model and the myriad evolutionary paths within that severed body.
Now, he was free from those constraints.
"The Martial Dao Eighth Tier is extremely important. To be precise, the Eighth Tier of all evolutionary paths is crucial."
"The Three Goddesses of Human Civilization even made the ability to forge a stable and complete Eighth Tier evolution path a prerequisite for becoming an Evolution Grand Scholar."
Lin Yuan pondered silently.
Evolution Grand Scholars held a unique and esteemed position in Human Civilization, considered treasures of their society.
"Slow and steady."
"I mustn't rush when it comes to forging the Martial Dao Eighth Tier."
Lin Yuan was cautious, as this not only pertained to the potential of the Martial Evolution Path but also to his own potential.
*Virtual World.*
Lin Yuan's figure appeared atop a mountain peak.
"That severed body?"
Lin Yuan looked up at the remains floating beneath the azure sky.
Having entered the Eighth Tier, Lin Yuan's realm had elevated, and as he observed the severed body once more, he felt a starkly different sensation.
At the Seventh Tier, Lin Yuan's examination of the body, aided by his Heaven-defying Comprehension, had been akin to seeing a mountain as a mountain and a body of water as water.
But now, as he beheld it again, it was as if he saw neither mountain nor water.
Moreover, Lin Yuan, starting from the head, found that even the parts of the body he had already comprehended, still held new and distinct evolutionary paths to uncover.
"So this is what a peak powerhouse is?"
"Merely a section of a body that had been dead for countless years."
"And yet, I feel like I've gained so much just from studying it."
Lin Yuan marveled inwardly, and this was all with the aid of his Heaven-defying Comprehension.
"Peak powerhouses stand at the pinnacle of certain peak evolutionary paths. They have comprehended the complete spatial rules, the complete temporal rules, and even possess a certain kind of 'authority'."
Reversing the flow and plucking people from the dead was merely one of the most basic abilities of a peak powerhouse, something any of them could do, or rather, anyone who had comprehended temporal and spatial rules to a sufficient degree.
However, resurrecting the deceased would incur the backlash of the entire universe, and only a peak powerhouse could nonchalantly withstand such a backlash.
"With my current comprehension speed, it'll take at most a few months to unravel three thousand, three hundred, and thirty-three evolutionary paths."
Lin Yuan speculated, knowing that the effectiveness of his Heaven-defying Comprehension depended on his current level.
If Lin Yuan were an ordinary person, observing a flower or a blade of grass might only yield insights into basic martial arts.
But if he were a high-level evolutionary, he might gain insights related to the life rule.
Similarly, now that he had entered the Eighth Tier, his comprehension speed had risen to a whole new level.
"Comprehending three thousand, three hundred, and thirty-three evolutionary paths would make me eligible to become an ordinary member of the Demon Jade Pavilion. But what about six thousand, six hundred, and sixty-six paths? Or nine thousand, nine hundred, and ninety-nine?"
Lin Yuan wondered.
Although he didn't know what benefits came with being an ordinary or core member of the Demon Jade Pavilion, he instinctively felt that the higher the membership level, the greater the advantages it would bring him.
Regardless, even without any membership benefits, Lin Yuan intended to continue unraveling more evolutionary paths to provide nourishment for the Martial Dao Eighth Tier.
On the other side of the sky.
On a high platform, several figures fixed their gazes on Lin Yuan.
"That's the Thirteenth Peak Master of the Chi Kun lineage? The one who recently entered the Eighth Tier?"
"Below the age of a hundred and already at the Eighth Tier? Chi Kun sure is lucky."
"Indeed, to cultivate to the Eighth Tier so quickly, he must have had some extraordinary opportunities."
These figures conversed amongst themselves. As lofty Ninth Tier evolvers, it was rare for anyone to capture their attention.
Previously, Lin Yuan, as a Seventh Tier evolver below the age of a hundred, had merely earned a few glances from them, but that was the extent of it. While it was indeed rare, he still had a long way to go to reach the Ninth Tier.
But now...
Lin Yuan had reached the Eighth Tier, and although he was still far from the Ninth Tier, he had earned their respect.
"Among our generation in Human Civilization, only the offspring of the peak powerhouses and those who obtained special inheritances can compare to him, right?"
One of the figures spoke softly.
The offspring of peak powerhouses were meticulously groomed. Even before their birth, they slumbered within the spatial origin, innately comprehending spatial rules upon their birth and possessing an affinity for other rules.
They were like scions of the Dao itself.
Coupled with various experiences and abundant resources, they were truly remarkable.
And yet, in the eyes of these figures, they could only match Lin Yuan's achievements.
As for the others who had obtained special inheritances, they were even more extraordinary and unparalleled.
In a mysterious space.
A majestic figure shrouded in a gray mist suddenly opened his eyes.
"Below the age of a hundred and already at the Eighth Tier?"
"Interesting."
Countless scenes flashed before this majestic figure.
"Do you know the second exploration method of that severed body?"
Countless speculations filled the mind of this majestic figure.
Was it related to extradimensional forces?
Or the Mandate of Heaven?
Was it guided by the universe's origin?
The majestic figure fell into deep thought.
"Wisdom Goddess."
The majestic figure's voice reverberated, shaking the surrounding million miles.
"Your Excellency, what are your orders?"
The Wisdom Goddess's dignified and chilly voice echoed in response.
"I plan to meet this young man in the Virtual World. I trust that won't be a problem?"
The majestic figure spoke casually.
"Your Excellency, this citizen is very important to Human Civilization. The evolutionary path he establishes may one day become a new peak evolutionary path."
The Wisdom Goddess reminded.
"Rest assured, I know my limits."
The majestic figure scoffed.
"You, the Wisdom Goddess, know how to protect the talented youth of Human Civilization?"
*Chi Kun Main Planet.*
Lin Yuan concluded his contemplation.
"Now that I'm at the Eighth Tier, has the mental will pressure from that severed body also risen to the Eighth Tier?" Lin Yuan shook his head.
The mental will pressure emanating from the severed body was entirely dependent on the observer's realm and the strength of their mental will.
Even at the Eighth Tier, a Ninth Tier evolver would still have to endure immense mental will pressure if they attempted to comprehend the severed body.
Just as Lin Yuan was about to step out of the grand hall to explore, the Wisdom Goddess's voice suddenly rang out.
"Respected Seventh-Level Citizen Lin Yuan, someone wishes to meet with you."
"Meet with me?" Lin Yuan paused, puzzled.
He had never heard of the Wisdom Goddess relaying messages for others, at least not for someone at his level—a Seventh-Level Citizen.
"Who is it?" Lin Yuan asked.
"A peak powerhouse."
PS: Here's an explanation: I've never explicitly written about the specific levels of peak powerhouses.
The Ninth Tier does not equate to a peak powerhouse, nor does the Tenth.
Regarding the previous deputy tower master, the protagonist believed he was at least a Ninth Tier, but that was just a minimum estimation. Given the deputy tower master's display of power, shattering a light-year-wide region of the Black Abyss Secret Realm with a mere flick of his fingers, his strength clearly surpassed the Ninth Tier.
