Chapter 234: Bad Woman, Millennium White Serpent
Chapter 234: Bad Woman, Millennium White Serpent
In the mountain, a small pine tree stood lush and green, its branches heavy with fully ripe fruits.
The Adamantine Pinecone split open, revealing a cluster of plump Pine Nuts, each one shimmering with a purplish-gold luster, as clear and bright as polished jade.
Many Mutants were drawn to the intense battle between Chu Feng and Yellow Bull, Adamantine, and the Silver-Winged Sky Deity. They never imagined that such formidable experts could be hidden deep in the mountains, their skills on par with, or even surpassing, the renowned figures outside.
However, many still remembered why they had come and kept a close eye on the small pine tree. Even though they knew their strength was inferior, they still harbored hopes of taking advantage of the chaos.
After all, they had come this far, and they had to try. Who would be willing to leave empty-handed?
In an instant, many Mutants made their move, rushing towards the small tree.
To their shock, they discovered that some hilltops were bristling with gun barrels, and several armed helicopters took to the sky, circling overhead. As soon as anyone approached the pine tree, they would open fire without hesitation!
The crowd's faces turned pale. Their bodies were not as resilient as those of the few currently battling. They could only withstand small-caliber firearms, and a hit from a large-caliber weapon or artillery would still be fatal.
“Rat-tat-tat!!”
“Boom! Boom!”
In a split second, the sound of firearms erupted, and intense firepower rained down around the small pine tree. Artillery shells exploded, shaking the ground and sending rocks flying, a terrifying sight that sent shivers down their spines.
Many Mutants fell, their blood and flesh splattering. The others were terrified and dared not make another move, involuntarily retreating.
While they had come this far and felt they should at least give it a try, who would be foolish enough to walk into certain death?
“Quite well-prepared, but unfortunately...” Shaohua shook her head.
“During the early days of the Post-Civilization Era, the Corporate Clans were a significant force in reshaping the order, participating in the formulation of many rules. It’s not surprising they can produce this.”
Lin Nuoyi continued, “Now that the old order is about to be broken again, the Corporate Clans are in a panic, seeking more power to maintain their status.”
Jiang Luoshen nodded in agreement, but Lu Shiyun was grinding her teeth, staring fiercely at the back of a certain bad woman. If she had the strength, she would have charged over to bite her.
How dare she! It was just a slip of the tongue, and that woman actually took herself as the master. It was infuriating!
In the forest, Chu Feng’s Bone Club had vanished, and Adamantine’s Vajra Blade was broken. The two were now engaged in a brutal fist-to-fist combat.
Chu Feng grew more excited with each blow. He often roamed the vast wilderness, fighting feral beasts, his wild nature returning, but rarely had the chance to fight another human.
Seeking guidance from Shaohua often ended with him being beaten mercilessly, leaving him powerless to retaliate.
This evenly matched battle was immensely beneficial to him!
Adamantine, on the other hand, grew increasingly alarmed. Who was he? A product of the meticulous cultivation by the Bodhi Genetics, and a disciple of a great Buddhist master, he had every advantage.
Yet, he was being suppressed by a ‘wild man’ from the mountains, who seemed to be using him as a whetstone.
The situation for the Silver-Winged Sky Deity was no better. His pride and joy, a pair of silver wings, had one broken, significantly reducing his strength. If not for Yellow Bull’s intention to toy with him, he would have been defeated long ago.
“I’ll be back soon. Stay here and don’t move,” Shaohua said to the beauties beside her.
Lu Shiyun pouted, Jiang Luoshen remained silent, and Lin Nuoyi reminded her to be careful, informing her of some of the arrangements by Heavenly God Biotech.
Shaohua smiled and disappeared, her tall and slender figure moving with incredible speed, as if teleporting. If not for those who had been paying attention from the start, they wouldn’t have noticed her crossing the forest.
Her speed was astonishing. In a single step, she could cover over a hundred meters, yet she moved as gracefully as a light breeze, like a flash of light, ethereal and divine.
“Goddess, record this properly, quickly!” Zhou Yitian roared.
“Director, rest assured, we’ve been watching, but we can only capture her back view, unable to see her face clearly!” someone said, both excited and frustrated.
“No problem, the lack of clarity only adds to the divine aura. We can always enhance it in post-production!” Zhou Yitian clenched his fist.
The few of them continued their impromptu filming, creating a bizarre scene.
Many who saw them were taken aback, unable to understand if these people were tired of living or had some mental issues.
Shaohua paid no heed to the attention. She stepped into the rain of gunfire, her windcoat fluttering, the willow sapling casually stuck in her hair swaying slightly, casting a faint glimmer of light.
In an instant, the world fell silent.
The entire mountain seemed to pause, everything coming to a standstill.
Bullets, rockets, and missiles hung motionless in mid-air, then reversed direction, exploding in the sky, creating a fiery cloud.
Shaohua stood alone, her hands clasped behind her back, untouched by the chaos.
The scene was mythic.
At White Serpent Ridge, everyone was stunned.
“Did you get it?!” Zhou Yitian trembled, his lips quivering.
“Got it all!” someone replied, equally trembling, a mix of fear and excitement.
After a brief silence, the area erupted in noise.
Near the small pine tree, the ground suddenly collapsed.
Heavenly God Biotech had been prepared, waiting for the fruits to ripen. They quickly excavated the ground, planning to transplant the one-meter-tall pine tree, roots and all, into a large iron box.
However, they didn’t expect so many complications. They didn’t anticipate Shaohua’s incredible speed, and before the tree could even fall, she had grasped it.
“Whoosh!”
A silver light shot from the tree, too fast for ordinary Mutants to react. Without prior preparation, they would have been caught off guard.
But it was no use against Shaohua.
She raised her other hand and effortlessly caught a small white snake, no longer than a chopstick, pinching its vital point with perfect precision, just as she had done with others’ necks.
There was no other reason; she was simply skilled.
There was no doubt this was a Mutant Beast, highly venomous and far stronger than many Mutants. It had been hiding, secretly guarding the peculiar pine tree.
On a distant hill, two elders from Heavenly God Biotech and Bodhi Genetics were also watching the scene, their eyes wide with shock.
They couldn’t gauge Shaohua’s strength, and with a hostage in her hands, they could do nothing but watch. They were even more terrified when they saw a massive surge of Mutant Beasts pouring out of the mountains, covering the landscape, their numbers vast and overwhelming.
“Not good! A great terror is upon us!”
“Trouble! Everyone, retreat! Get the people inside out quickly!”
The two elders’ breathing grew heavy, and they leaped to their feet, shouting as they rushed down the hill, their voices echoing through the mountains.
“There must be a Mutant Beast King. We need to seek help. See if any powerful figures can come, and also alert the authorities. We need a two-pronged approach to have any chance of survival!”
Soon, the Mutants at White Serpent Ridge also sensed the danger, feeling as if they were being watched by some ancient predator. They were gripped by fear, looking around frantically as more and more beasts appeared, advancing towards the area.
The numbers were staggering. Who would have thought that various species of beasts, usually hostile to each other, would move in such an organized manner, all with a single goal: to drive the humans out of the mountains.
Apart from the various beasts, the most terrifying were the Mutant Beasts, numbering in the hundreds, if not thousands.
There were wolves with bronze-like bodies, monkeys with golden fur, eagles with wingspans of ten meters, wild boars as large as armored vehicles, and green snakes as thick as barrels.
These Mutant Beasts had developed intelligence and were attacking in an organized manner. The beasts targeted the ground forces, while the birds destroyed the aircraft, forcing everyone deeper into White Serpent Ridge.
The war between humans and beasts had begun, and at the center of the storm, Shaohua turned her gaze in a specific direction.
“White Serpent Ridge truly has a White Serpent.” She sighed.
A massive White Serpent slowly emerged, sending a chill down everyone’s spine!
The nearly a thousand Mutant Beasts could still put up a fight, as there were thousands of Mutants in the Taihang Mountains, gathered from all over. But the presence of the White Serpent King was so terrifying that no one dared to resist.
“Rumble, rumble, rumble”
The serpent emerged, causing the ground to shake. It slithered out of the canyon, its body immense, its head massive, its diameter at least two meters, and its length stretching for hundreds of meters. The enormous snake coiled into a mountain, its body snow-white and terrifying.
“The legend is true, there really is a Millennium White Serpent?!” Chu Feng shuddered. He was a local and immediately recalled the local lore.
The name White Serpent Ridge came from the legend of a White Serpent, but no one had believed it until now.
“This is the king of the Taihang Mountains, an unquestionable ruler. No wonder it can command the beasts. It seems today’s fate is sealed.” Adamantine, despite his injuries, stopped fighting Chu Feng.
“Moo!” Yellow Bull abandoned the Silver-Winged Sky Deity and charged towards the center of the mountain.
If anyone could turn the tide, it would be the mysterious goddess from their group.
Chu Feng caught a glimpse of the golden figure and immediately followed, sprinting forward.
“Sister Guang, save me!”
Shaohua looked at the White Serpent not far away, calmly dropped the unconscious small silver snake, pocketed the Adamantine Pinecone, and walked forward.
“Millennium White Serpent, are you Bai Suzhen?” she tilted her head and asked.
“Who are you?!” The White Serpent spoke, its voice human and female, cold and clear, yet beautiful.
But as Shaohua approached, the White Serpent felt a growing sense of fear, her eyes revealing human-like unease.
This person... no, this was not a person at all!
