Chapter 233: Forget It, Forget It, Can't Mess With Them
Chapter 233: Forget It, Forget It, Can't Mess With Them
This was a severe blow to Sazil.
Since childhood, he had cultivated the Nails Martial Art under his master’s guidance, continuing nonstop until the day he set sail at sea.
As that one-eyed old man once said: "You’re not exceptionally gifted, but you’re diligent. The Nails Martial Art will flourish in your hands."
Sazil started training at age three. Thirteen years of relentless practice had finally brought him to the point where he could master the technique of dispersing and concentrating strength.
But ever since he boarded this ship, weird things kept happening.
First, Lida grasped the essence of his unarmed combat techniques with just one glance. Then Kuro followed suit.
What was this?!
Were these supposed to be advanced applications of his martial art?
He hadn’t even mastered Haki, yet this guy was already combining it with fist techniques to create new moves?
Sazil lay there motionless, his gaze vacant, face twisted in doubt.
"My master said I wasn’t talented—guess that was the truth after all. Otherwise, how come after all these years, I still can’t match their few days of skill?"
"Klah, where are you, Klah?!"
A man’s voice echoed across the Deck. "Haven’t you finished preparing the bait yet? It’s been days!"
"Done, done!"
Klah hurried over holding a wooden bucket, practically sprinting to Kuro. "Kuromr., here’s the fish bait you requested."
The bucket contained bait made from small fish. After Fu Ke Xi’s earlier explosion destroyed his previous supply, he had no bait left to fish with. Naturally, this task fell to his personal steward.
"Where’s my fishing rod?"
Kuro walked to the ship’s edge, scanning the area. "Lida, Lida! Where’s my fishing rod?!"
"Coming, coming!"
Lida emerged holding the rod, shooting Kuro an annoyed glare as he handed it over.
"Alright, you two can go now."
Kuro threaded the bait onto the line, cast the rod into the sea water, and declared, "I’m catching another big fish no matter what! Otherwise, these past few days would’ve been wasted."
The two men stood silently, exchanging glances.
They’d worked so hard, and not even a thank you?
Klah adjusted his glasses and kicked Sazil, who was sprawled on the Deck in existential despair.
"Kuro! Lazybones, get up and train!"
Sunlight glinted off Klah’s glasses, giving them a sinister sheen.
"K-Kuromr., I just trained with Kuromr. earlier! Look at these bruises!"
Sazil felt wronged.
"Excuses! What you need is transformation! Only through relentless beatings—not training—will you realize the true value of the Navy!"
Sazil: "…"
You just want an excuse to hit me.
"If you won’t stand up, then lie there and practice your pain tolerance!"
Klah tightened his Fist.
"N-no, I’ll get up, I will!"
"Iron Body!"
…
Several days later.
Sazil stood on the Deck, battered and bruised, his mood as dark as a storm cloud.
He’d had enough.
Revenge. He needed revenge.
Forget the Navy or pirates—he’d settle the score.
Klah, Lida, Kuro… One by one, he’d take them all down.
Right now. Immediately.
Boom! Boom!
To the side, an entire Deserted Island was ripped from its roots, soaring into the sky along with a vast stretch of the Grand Line waters.
Sazil could even see struggling sea creatures in the sea water, flying upward with the island.
The rising waters drenched the area with rain, soaking him to the bone.
Kuro floated above, his hand raised as he spiraled upward with the island and seawater.
"Not bad. This island’s completely barren—would’ve been a shame not to expand my collection", Kuro said, nodding in satisfaction.
Finding an island with no ecosystem was rare, so naturally, he had to claim it.
After the battle with Kaido, his stockpile was depleted, and most of his resources were stuck in the New World. Without expansion, he felt incomplete.
While sending entire kingdoms skyward with their buildings and Weaponry was fun, no one ever complained about having too many safety reserves.
Sazil opened his mouth, staring at the smirking figure in the sky. The last of his fury vanished inexplicably.
Forget it, forget it, can’t mess with them. Getting beaten up is just building up my pain tolerance. Not so bad.
"Kuro! You again! Can’t you hold back? My soup just got ruined by your stupid rain!"
Lida stormed out holding a bowl of soup, spluttering in rage.
"Ah, sorry."
Kuro glided back to the ship, glanced at Lida, then suddenly realized something. "Wait… Lida, didn’t you just eat these past few days?"
"Of course! Exerting physical strength means I need to eat! Training—uh, I mean beating people up—is exhausting work. Gotta replenish that energy!"
Kuro’s expression darkened. He summoned an Ensign and asked, "How much food do we have left?"
The Ensign hesitated, then finally replied, "Report, Commander… We’re nearly out."
"But we restocked three days ago!"
"Y-yes, but it’s gone", the Ensign muttered, giving Lida a pointed look.
"How far to the next town?"
"Commander, the next town is ‘Moe Island’ according to the Navigational Route. One day’s travel."
"What kind of island?"
"Moe Island", the Ensign insisted. "But locally, it’s called Ma’en Island. It’s not ‘cute’—it’s just a regular island."
Kuro paused. "Weapons turning into people? That’s impossible."
Such technology was still exclusive to Vegapunk. During his time with Gramps, he’d heard of Vegapunk’s work.
The so-called life factor technique only worked because Zoan Devil Fruits inherently contained life essence, allowing lifeless objects to fuse with it.
And even that was limited to Zoan Devil Fruits.
Turning a sword into a human? That would require a massive number of Human-Human Devil Fruits.
But Devil Fruits were already rare. Though the Grand Line had many Devil Fruit users, they were still outnumbered globally. Specific fruits like the Human-Human type were even rarer—each one a priceless treasure. Their value went beyond mere strength.
Sengoku’s Fleet Admiral form wasn’t just power—it granted a Buddha-like spiritual state, achieving perfect harmony of mind, body, and technique.
Luffy’s pet, through its Human Form, gained human-like intelligence and learning ability.
The Human-Human Devil Fruit was at least as rare as ancient Zoan types.
There was no way so many existed.
Nonsense.
"Anyway, we’ll resupply there. And Lida—until we reach Moe Island, you’re limited to one more meal. Control yourself."
