Chapter 232: This Is How We Do Things
Chapter 232: This Is How We Do Things
It wasn't surprising that Yellow Monkey didn't come personally.
After all, he was a fleet admiral, busy with his own matters, and who had the time to deal with the troubles of the World Nobles?
The fact that a representative of the World Government had come instead was more indicative of the higher-ups' decision-making.
"Buy? You're being outrageous, Heavenly Disaster!"
The agent snarled, "This is originally a place under the World Government's control. You're going too far, you mere pirates!"
"Lily."
Whoosh!
Smack!
A glimmer of cold light flashed and transformed into a slender sword. Its blade smacked across the agent's mouth, causing him to spit out a mouthful of blood and fall backward.
Before he could get up, the sharp sword tip was already pressed against his throat. The slightest upward movement would pierce through his neck.
"If you want to have a conversation, do it with the right attitude. If there's a next time, I'll kill you," Lily said coldly.
The agent staggered to his feet, his sunglasses knocked off. He glared at Lily with hatred in his eyes and was about to say something when the sword tip pressed against his throat moved forward slightly.
Swish!
The thin sword pierced his neck, and blood flowed down the penetrating sword tip, staining the ground.
"Looks like there's nothing more to say."
Lily withdrew the thin sword, casually flinging off the blood on it, and sheathed it. Her gaze, like thunder, swept across the remaining agents, causing them to unconsciously take a step back.
"Don't be too arrogant! Heavenly Disaster, you're facing the World Government!" An agent pointed at Sage on the platform and shouted indignantly.
Sage speared a piece of chopped sausage with a fork and put it into his mouth, chewing as he moved his finger, causing the fork to disappear.
Puff!
A hole appeared in the throat of the agent who had been speaking, and with a soft sound, the fork, laden with blood and some fragments, embedded itself in the edge of the back door, piercing halfway through.
The agent clutched his throat, making a few choking sounds before falling down as well.
Sage swallowed his food and bared his white teeth. "This is how we do things!"
He stood up, kicked Rozward, who had subconsciously propped up his upper body due to the agents' arrival, and stomped his face into the floor. He laughed loudly, "You didn't come here for a trade, did you? In a deal, even if it falls through, there's still courtesy. If you talk nicely to us, we can still chat, but if you irritate me, your master will be the one suffering!"
Crack!
Under the gravity, Rozward's face embedded itself into the floor, half of it sinking in.
"Save me! Save me!" Rozward stretched out his hand and wailed in pain.
"Don't hurt Rozward the Saint!"
The agent hurriedly said, "We can slowly discuss this matter. Please, whatever you do, don't hurt the World Noble's sacred body!"
"If you had spoken like this earlier, no one would have died. You officials and agents, I don't know where you get your arrogance from. Your professionalism might not even match that of my hidden agents on this ship."
Sage released his hand and sat back down in his chair. He extended a finger again, "One hundred billion to buy your Shampoo Island."
The agent gritted his teeth and said, "We need to seek approval for this!"
"Then what are you waiting for? Every second you delay, my men will seize more. What they take, I won't return," Sage said with a smile.
The agent took a deep breath and searched for a Den Den Mushi from the corpse of the first agent Lily had taken down. He then ran out to make a call.
Not long after, he returned and said with a slight pout, "Heavenly Disaster, we have a new proposal for you. Regarding the passage to Mary Geoise, we agree to that. Moreover, the World Government invites you to become one of the 'Seven Warlords of the Sea.' If you accept, you will be able to pass through not only Mary Geoise but also any area under the jurisdiction of the World Government from now on."
"Hahahaha... Hey, did you hear that? At this point, you still want to trick me into becoming one of the Seven Warlords? What's the deal? Are you so desperate in the face of war that you'll take anyone? Unfortunately, I'm not interested!"
Sage sneered, "I'm discussing the World Nobles' conditions with you, not the Seven Warlords!"
Release the World Nobles and then go to war as one of the Seven Warlords, serving others?
The World Government must think he's a fool. If he agrees to their terms, then capturing the Celestial Dragons would have been for nothing.
"You can pass through Mary Geoise in exchange for one hundred billion, and we can negotiate about spreading the news in the newspaper. However, we now demand Rozward the Saint and Charlロス the Saint to be handed over to us." The agent stated.
"First of all, I'm not extorting or kidnapping. It seems you've misunderstood something."
Sage laughed and said, "The tradition of the lawless area is to capture slaves. The Celestial Dragons have become my slaves. It's not the fault of others, and if it weren't for slaves, I wouldn't bother with these weaklings."
"The previous offer of one hundred billion was to buy my slaves. We need to be clearer on the form. As for the remaining two, I don't want to sell them for money anymore. Instead, I want to exchange them for something else, and that will not change," Sage asserted.
The agent pursed his lips and said, "We understand your demands, and we agree to let you pass through Mary Geoise. We will also allow the newspaper to spread the news about what you have done. However, we now request that you hand over Rozward the Saint and Charl로스 the Saint to us."
Sage snorted, "If you had fulfilled my demands earlier, I would have considered it. But now, I have something in my possession, and I will only give them back on one condition."
He thought for a moment and glanced at Charl로스, who was as round as a fat fish, and said, "This man is the condition for passing through Mary Geoise. Once we enter the New World, this man will be returned to you."
"There's also another condition. The moment I see the news in the newspaper, that's when I'll hand him over. Remember, I want the reputation that is rightfully mine. The truth should not have been hidden in the first place, and you have already delayed this for many days. I want the unadulterated truth, and I alone breached Impel Down!"
The agent was about to say something, but seeing the two bodies lying on the ground, he paused and said, "I will convey your message as it is."
"Before that war arrives, I want to see it in the newspaper. After that, you're on your own," Sage said, waving his hand.
"Then get lost. Take these bodies away and don't disturb my meal," Sage ordered.
The agents were efficient, and they quickly dragged the two corpses away from the venue.
In this regard, they were quite professional.
"Lily," Sage said, "Inform Arkin and tell them to take their time with the looting. Five days should be enough. Loot everything except for those who have nothing, and don't spare anyone with money on the Shampoo Islands. We have ample time."
"Understood," Lily nodded.
"Hey? Isn't the World Government buying this place? Isn't this their territory?" Renitia asked curiously.
"That's normal for them," Sage replied.
"If they were willing to spend money, I would have thought better of them. They can collect taxes, but when have they ever spent money for someone else's sake, especially when the Celestial Dragons are still in my possession?" Sage laughed.
After all, it wasn't their money that was being looted. Why would they care?
Sage had originally intended to save time and directly sell what he had looted to the World Government. However, since they didn't want it, he could only continue the looting.
Regarding the timeline, he didn't want to rush through it as he had done in the past. He wanted to thoroughly plunder the Shampoo Islands as if he were plowing through a field.
"By the way, give Dover a call. We have more money than we can handle," Sage laughed heartily. "This is our starting capital. With this money, we can develop rapidly once we reach the New World!"
When it came to looting, the earlier half of the journey was indeed the most lucrative.
The accumulation of this primitive capital had indeed been substantial.
However, that phase was coming to an end, as Sage had almost looted every worthwhile place during the first half of his journey, amassing this substantial fortune.
