Chapter 232: The Flame Whip
Chapter 232: The Flame Whip
Karl's eyes widened in surprise as he examined the items he had acquired. With a satisfied smile, he stored them away in his spatial gear.
At over fifty years old, he was no longer young by ordinary standards, but among wizards, he was still in his prime.
It had only been three decades since he first entered the wizarding world, and he certainly couldn't claim to be well-traveled.
Even as a Second Circle Wizard, he found plenty of interesting items at the trade fair.
Initially, he had only intended to attract the attention of his target, but before he knew it, he had become genuinely engrossed in the fair.
"It's about time to leave," Karl thought as he straightened his hat and lightly tapped his staff on the ground, making his way out.
As the owner of the Dream Bazaar, he couldn't afford to get into a fight, even if he encountered an enemy, or else who would dare to come to the fair again?
"Big brother," someone whispered from the crowd, signaling with their eyes.
"That person is leaving!"
"Hmm," Tas responded without changing his expression. "Not yet."
Soon after, Karl appeared at the edge of the Dream Bazaar, holding the flame whip he had acquired. He glanced back thoughtfully.
"Didn't they follow?" he muttered. "Am I too conspicuous, making them think I have some powerful backing? This is a case of overdoing it!"
Muttering to himself, Karl swung the whip and left the bazaar.
He didn't believe they would give up on such a 'juicy' target as himself, and even if they did, he had his own tricks up his sleeve.
With a casual wave of his hand, the whip sliced through a tree as thick as two people hugging it, effortlessly cutting it in half.
"This whip is amazing!" Karl's eyes lit up. Its sharpness was almost divine, and the fifty magic stones he spent on it were well worth it.
However, there was more to the whip than met the eye.
It had been enchanted so that as long as someone held it, their location could be tracked. Furthermore, its special properties prevented it from being stored in storage gear for long periods.
If that were the only issue, it might not have been a problem.
Any cautious person would have noticed this and sought an opportunity to refine the whip, removing the enchantment.
But doing so would play right into their hands.
It was difficult to pinpoint the location while briefly taking it out of storage, but once refined, their position would be continuously tracked.
"Unforeseen!" Karl stroked his chin. "These people are experts in ambushing. Their methods are quite clever. It seems they've truly given up on me."
Shaking his head, he rubbed his fingers together, and a subtle breath materialized, transforming into an arrow pointing into the distance.
"Is he choosing another target?"
...
Mamen tightly gripped his spatial gear, his face filled with caution as he looked towards three figures emerging from the dense forest.
One was a full-fledged wizard, accompanied by two high-level wizard apprentices.
"What do you want?" Mamen asked.
"Leave everything you have and you can go," the wizard replied with a lighthearted tone, waving his staff.
"Then you can scram!"
"If I don't leave anything, what can you do about it?" Mamen scoffed.
"Hmph," the wizard shrugged. "You can try."
Flash Step Spell! Mamen's body flickered, and he reappeared several meters away, simultaneously activating several supportive spells.
A stone golem appeared where he had been standing, nearly seven-meter-tall creature with a pair of wings on its back and crimson eyes fixed on Mamen.
The apprentice had transformed into the golem through bloodline magic, and its wings vibrated as it stared intently at Mamen.
Although not yet a full-fledged wizard, the apprentice's golem was almost as powerful.
But...
There was no hope of becoming a full wizard in this lifetime!
The other apprentice revealed a slight smile, taking a step back to reveal a complex pattern on the ground.
As the pattern lit up, the surrounding environment seemed to shift.
Barrier Mage! Mamen's face paled.
Both apprentices possessed skills comparable to full wizards, and with an additional wizard, even a First Circle Wizard might struggle to win.
"Run!" Mamen shouted, retreating rapidly. The wizard's robe glowed with spiritual light, and the patterns on it seemed to come alive.
Upon closer inspection, the patterns were one-eyed crows.
"Caw!"
With a shrill cry, dozens of one-eyed crows made of flames flew out from the robe.
The fire crows screeched as they charged towards the trio in the center of the arena.
Mamen, on the other hand, rushed towards the edge of the barrier, his staff slicing through the air like a sharp blade, cutting a slit in the barrier.
Instantly, a crack appeared.
Mamen's eyes lit up with joy, ready to seize the opportunity to escape, when a ball of flames roared through the crack.
"Boom!"
The explosion sent Mamen flying, and two more figures entered the barrier, joining the other three.
"Big brother!"
"Old Three!"
"Hmm," Tas nodded expressionlessly. "Old Two, I told you not to rush into action. We should have prepared first. If it weren't for me and Old Three's timely arrival, he might have escaped."
"Yes," Old Two scratched his head, embarrassed. "He must have sensed something was wrong and changed his trajectory. I took action to prevent any mishaps."
"Forget it." Tas waved his hand dismissively.
"We'll deal with it first. The things on her are very important to me, and I can't afford to lose them."
Three full-fledged wizards!
Plus two high-level wizard apprentices with exceptional abilities!
Mammon's heart sank, and she clenched her teeth. With a swift motion, she flipped her wizard's robe, shaking out countless flame bees.
"Be careful."
Tas narrowed his eyes, "This woman's heritage is not simple. She can transform flames into various creatures. If we can obtain it..."
"There will be a generous reward!"
As he spoke, a hint of confusion flashed in his eyes, followed by a sudden change in his expression. His face turned pale, and he began to retreat frantically.
"Be careful!"
"Boom!"
The flame bees that rushed forward were only the size of a thumb, with sharp mouthparts and plump bodies.
Upon closer inspection, one could see that inside the pulsating bodies was a lump of magma.

The magma was ready to explode at the slightest touch!
The explosion of a single flame bee was not a big deal, but when hundreds of them exploded together, the power became terrifying.
The stone golem, with its large body, bore the brunt of the attack. Half of its body was torn apart by the explosion, and it fell to the ground in agony.
The barrier also shook violently and collapsed with a loud bang.
The two high-level wizard apprentices...
Died!
The three full-fledged wizards also suffered minor injuries.
However, after executing that attack, Mammon was not feeling well either. Her face turned deathly pale, and her eyes were vacant, a sign of severe mental exhaustion.
Run!
Run fast!
She forced herself to charge forward, not daring to stop for a moment.
"Damn it!"
Tas burst out of the flames and roared, "Don't you dare leave!"
Karl strolled leisurely, casually swinging a long flame whip as if he were a tourist.
"Witness my Invincible Flame Whip Technique!"
The soft whip, over three meters long, moved like a spirit snake, attacking from unpredictable angles, making it difficult to defend against.
With a casual flick of the whip, he could strike wherever he aimed.
Indeed, with the skill and cultivation of a Holy Knight, he could wield any exotic weapon with proficiency.
"Huff..."
The leaves in front of him rustled.
The lush green leaves turned yellow and withered at a visible rate, then turned into ash.
A fist-sized fireball shot through the branches, flying straight towards Karl, forcing him to dodge to the side.
"Bang!"
The fireball plunged into the mud, struggled for a moment, then bounced, intending to move further away.
"You still want to run?"
Tas's cold voice echoed, and a flame aura immediately enveloped the fireball, trapping it.
"The Soul Fire Heritage is indeed remarkable. Even with her physical body destroyed, she can still escape in this state."
The trees swayed, and the three wizards emerged one by one.
Tas looked at the fireball on the ground, her face lit up with excitement. Just as she was about to step forward, she finally noticed Karl.
"It's you!"
One of the men behind Karl exclaimed, "Big brother, that flame whip..."
"I know." Tas waved her hand, "I remember."
"It's you." Karl looked at the person who sold him the flame whip, and smiled, "Your whip is quite impressive. I just tried it out, and I'm satisfied."
"I'm glad you like it." The seller chuckled, "I was going to let you go, but you came right to my door. It seems it's fate."
"Hmm..." Karl stroked his chin, "Are you a Dark Wizard?"
"Obviously." The seller looked at him as if he were an idiot.
"Enough!" Tas frowned and glared at Karl, "You can go now."
"Huh?" The seller was taken aback, his face turning red. He couldn't understand why he was being let off after being served on a platter.
But in the end, he didn't say anything more.
"Tsk tsk..." Karl clicked his tongue and shook his head, "You're too generous."
"Unfortunately, I don't plan to let you go."
"Swish!"
The flame whip trembled in the air, growing longer with the wind, instantly stretching to several dozen meters in length, and lashed towards the three of them.
"Boom!"
The long whip burst into flames.
Their faces turned pale, and their eyes revealed fear.
What terrified them was not the approaching flames, but the terrifying battle qi emanating from the whip.
It was the battle qi of a knight, something they had never paid attention to before, but now it felt like a sharp blade against their throats.
Their bodies trembled uncontrollably.
"Pff!"
The whip coiled lightly, and one of the full-fledged wizards was shredded into countless pieces. All the defensive spells were rendered useless."
"Look."
Karl smiled lightly, "This flame whip is indeed sharp."
"..." The seller's mouth hung open in shock, "Spare me!"
"Too late."
Before he could finish, his head slid off his neck.
