Chapter 232: Conquest Difficulty: Nightmare [57]
Chapter 232: Conquest Difficulty: Nightmare [57]
Coincidentally... I fell...
Tsunade chewed on Feng Ye's words, recalling the strange appearance of the white light that had obscured the entire sky not long ago. Her eyes narrowed as she asked, "Was that beam of light your doing? Who were you fighting in the sky?"
Feng Ye picked up the fish from the grill, checked its doneness, and took a small bite. Chewing casually, he replied, "Sort of."
"As for who I was fighting... Don't you think instead of asking that, you should be thinking about what information I'll try to get out of you next?"
Hearing Feng Ye's words, Tsunade stiffened slightly.
To be honest, she realized that she was currently incapable of resistance and that it was highly unlikely she could escape her captor status. But this was her first time being a prisoner.
It was a new experience for her.
Feng Ye took a couple more bites of the fish before frowning, finding it not to his taste. He placed the fish back on the grill and turned to face Tsunade, asking,
"Is this the Water Country?"
"No... This is the Frost Country."
Tsunade looked at Feng Ye with a mix of surprise and suspicion, but she answered his question nonetheless.
A seed of doubt began to grow in her mind.
The fact that Feng Ye didn't even know which country he was in, even after fighting in the sky, was unusual. Even if he had been distracted during his descent, he should still have some idea of the country he landed in.
The only explanation for this situation was that Feng Ye's battle had taken place at an incredibly high altitude, allowing him to see not just the Frost Country but also the Water Country, Fire Country, and other nations!
Only then would it make sense that he wouldn't know which country he was in after falling.
But even that explanation didn't quite add up. Such heights would likely be beyond the survivable limits for a ninja. Was he fighting on the moon?! No, that was beyond the capabilities of a ninja.
That was the realm of gods.
"Frost Country?"
Feng Ye gave Tsunade a curious glance. He had no recollection of this country in his memories, nor had he heard much about it during his time as Hokage.
He continued to study her as he asked, "Is it a country bordering the Water Country?"
"No... It's in the sea."
Tsunade sensed that Feng Ye's confusion didn't seem feigned, and there was no real need for him to pretend anyway. He truly didn't know where they were.
This only added to her growing uncertainty.
Perhaps...
It was some kind of space-time ninjutsu?
But that didn't explain the meteorite.
And come to think of it, Feng Ye seemed to have been sealed inside the meteorite as he fell from the sky... Perhaps he truly had been fighting at an unimaginable height against some formidable foe!
"In the sea?"
Feng Ye furrowed his brows.
He had thought he'd fallen in the Water Country and could conveniently pay a visit to Kirigakure, but now it seemed he had landed somewhere farther away. Should he still make the trip? Thinking of Nagato and Obito, who might be hiding in Kirigakure, Feng Ye decided to go anyway.
"How long would it take to get to Kirigakure from here?"
"About a month's journey."
Tsunade replied after a moment's thought.
Her gaze turned slightly more serious as she looked at Feng Ye and said, "Do you want intelligence about Kirigakure? I won't give you any information about them."
Feng Ye appraised her with a glance and sighed. "In that case, I have no choice but to try and find what I need in your head.
She took a few steps back and then suddenly fell to the ground.
Feng Ye's hand paused in mid-air as he observed her reaction, a slight smile appearing on his face. "It seems you're not as elite a ninja as I thought, to be scared so easily."
Terumi Mei stared at Feng Ye, who had withdrawn his hand, her chest heaving as she took a breath to calm her emotions. "If you wanted to use those methods, you wouldn't have bothered saving me. You could've done that from the start, but even then, you'd only obtain fragmented and damaged intelligence."
Feng Ye glanced at her and chuckled. "You're able to think rationally after the fact, but you didn't consider that in the moment."
"..."
A hint of shame flashed in Terumi Mei's eyes.
Feng Ye's reputation in the ninja world was simply too formidable, and his words and actions had startled her, causing her to lose her ability to think logically.
But...
How could there be such a perfect man?
His strength and title shook the ninja world, and as the Fifth Hokage of Konoha, he held the village's power in his hands. Moreover, his youth, handsome features, and commanding presence were overwhelming.
If only he weren't an enemy.
A hint of regret filled Terumi Mei's heart.
"Intelligence probably isn't that important to you, is it?"
Terumi Mei remained seated, her gaze fixed on Feng Ye. "I'm already a captive with no means to resist. Do you only want intelligence from me?"
Terumi Mei leaned forward slightly, her tattered clothes unable to conceal her skin. With a hint of redness on her cheeks, she looked at Feng Ye, her voice taking on a subtle hint of allure.
At this moment, although Terumi Mei lacked mature allure, her delicate figure, coupled with a hint of youth and innocence, exuded an alternative kind of charm.
She didn't want to die.
She wanted to live.
She knew she couldn't win against Feng Ye in a direct fight, and her current state made escape impossible. The only way to possibly change the current situation was to try and seduce Feng Ye into doing something else.
And then, when Feng Ye let his guard down, she would deliver a 'soul-devouring, bone-corroding' 'kiss'.
Her Bloodline Limit, Boil Release, could instantly turn people into flying ash.
And her Lava Release could melt people in an instant as well.
Feng Ye glanced at Terumi Mei and asked, "What else could I get besides intelligence?"
Terumi Mei leaned forward, her hands gently supporting her on the ground as she tilted her head back to look at Feng Ye.
"Of course, it's..."
"...other pleasures."
Thud! Terumi Mei fell backward again, her hand covering her forehead as she stared at Feng Ye in astonishment.
"If that's what you're thinking, then you'll have to work hard."
Feng Ye squatted in front of Terumi Mei, looking at her as he spoke. "There are already too many people in line to try and woo me. I think that as a captive, you'll have a lot of difficulty surpassing those ahead of you in the queue, but perhaps you'll have a chance to turn the tables?"
Terumi Mei: "..."
Hearing Feng Ye's words, she felt as though an image appeared before her eyes.
