Chapter 231: The Plan to Capture Dobby
Chapter 231: The Plan to Capture Dobby
"What? You want me to be chased by a Bludger on the Quidditch pitch again in two days!" Harry exclaimed in despair after hearing Ivan's plan.
This was called a little risk? Last time, he nearly had his head smashed in by the Bludger!
"This time, I'll cast the Confundus Charm. I'll adjust it properly, so it shouldn't hurt you!" Ivan said, a bit embarrassed.
"But will this really work?" Harry was very skeptical.
"Of course. Once the news spreads that you've been attacked again on the pitch, I'm sure Dobby will come forward to explain!" Ivan explained.
Ivan was very aware of Harry's position in Dobby's heart!
After "killing" the Dark Lord, Harry significantly improved the difficult living conditions of House-Elves. Dobby was extremely grateful to Harry and regarded him as his Savior.
This was why Dobby risked breaking the rules and even hurting himself to come to Hogwarts to "help" Harry.
So Ivan was certain that once Dobby learned that his most respected Harry Potter had been attacked on the Quidditch pitch again and suspected him, he would definitely come forward to clear his name.
At that point, all Ivan needed to do was use the Polyjuice Potion to transform into Harry's appearance and catch Dobby off guard, making it easy to capture him.
Apart from this, Ivan couldn't think of any better way to lure out that elusive House-Elf.
After hearing Ivan's entire plan, Harry was skeptical about Dobby's excessive concern for him.
However, after some hesitation, Harry gritted his teeth and agreed. He also had some things he wanted to clarify with Dobby.
"Alright, we'll do it this way. We'll switch identities using the Polyjuice Potion after the match", Ivan concluded, giving Harry an apologetic look.
Actually, during the match, he could have used the Polyjuice Potion to switch identities with Harry, so Harry wouldn't have to be chased by the Bludger again.
But Ivan considered that his throwing skills were something Harry couldn't mimic, and any slip-up might make Dobby suspicious, so he ultimately decided against it.
"By the way, Ivan, why did Dobby go to such great lengths to steal your notebook?" Harry, thinking of something, hesitated for a moment before asking.
Ivan shook his head, preparing to brush it off, but Harry suddenly interrupted him.
"Because it has something to do with Voldemort, right?"
"Voldemort? Dark Lord?" Ron, who was nearby, was startled and looked at Ivan in surprise, instinctively taking a few steps back.
Ivan's expression changed, and he looked at Harry in confusion, not understanding how he knew and was so sure.
"Dobby told me. He said Lucius Malfoy once sold an item related to Voldemort to a young witch or wizard at Hogwarts, and that dangerous item was opened near me", Harry explained.
There weren't many young witches or wizards at Hogwarts who fit that description.
Moreover, this time Dobby had mysteriously broken in to steal one of Ivan's items, which led Harry to confirm that the young wizard Dobby mentioned was indeed Ivan.
Ivan frowned, not expecting Dobby to know about this and tell Harry. He had no choice but to explain reluctantly.
"That's correct. Lucius Malfoy came to my magical shop during the summer and sold me a black Diary. He told me that the item could assist in my studies and answer some of my questions, so I've been carrying it with me ever since."
Later, I found that something was off with it. The knowledge it gave me was mostly wrong, so I decided to destroy it. But today, it disappeared."
Ivan naturally shifted the blame onto Lucius Malfoy, portraying himself as an innocent second-year wizard who had been deceived.
"Heavens, how could you trust what Lucius Malfoy says! You should know how bad Malfoy is. Neither of them is any good!" Ron said with exasperation.
Harry also nodded in agreement and then asked, "What if we tell Professor Dumbledore about this?"
Since it involved Voldemort, Harry didn't dare to be careless. He hadn't mentioned this to Dumbledore before because he couldn't be sure if Dobby's words were true, but now it was different.
"It's better to wait until we catch Dobby before we tell Dumbledore", Ivan shook his head.
If possible, Ivan didn't want to seek Dumbledore's help, especially not wanting Dumbledore to know that he had come into contact with Voldemort's Horcrux.
Even if he couldn't hide it, it would be best to destroy the Horcrux first before handing it over to Dumbledore, to prevent Dumbledore from learning any information that might be detrimental to him from Tom.
More importantly, Ivan had been pondering the conflict between Dumbledore and Aesia, and whether his father's death had anything to do with the old headmaster.
Two days passed in a flash.
During this time, Ivan transformed into his Animagus form multiple times, wandering around the entire castle. He instructed some friendly Owls to help him find Dobby and to keep an eye on any unusual activities in Hogwarts.
The Chamber Entrance in the Girls' Bathroom was the most critical surveillance point.
To Ivan's relief, the school remained unusually peaceful over the past two days, with no Basilisk attacks.
This meant that Tom Riddle had yet to successfully manipulate the House-Elf Dobby.
But Ivan felt this was only a matter of time, as Dobby seemed rather dim-witted.
So, he needed to retrieve the Horcrux before that happened!
"Ivan, your Confusion Charm shouldn't fail, right?" Before the match, in the Gryffindor changing room, Harry whispered.
He was worried that he might be knocked off his broom by a Bludger and lose the match, which would likely devastate Wood.
"Don't worry, the Bludger will fly slower this time. You'll be able to dodge it no matter what", Ivan reassured him.
Casting the Confusion Charm on the Bludger had taken considerable effort.
After Harry was attacked last time, Madam Hooch had increased the security measures for the balls and would carefully inspect them a few hours before the match. Ivan had barely managed to fool her.
"Anyway, just play your best this time, Harry. We're already far ahead in points. Even if we lose the Snitch, it won't affect our chances of winning the championship", Ivan added.
This was the last Quidditch match of the year. After beating Slytherin, the Gryffindor team had also won against the Hufflepuff team.
As long as they performed well in this match against Ravenclaw, they would secure the Quidditch championship for the year!
His Legendary Points were just short of the amount needed to activate the protection mode in the fusion system. If they won the championship, he might finally have enough to fuse with the next bloodline!
