Chapter 230: The School Nurse and the Professor
Chapter 230: The School Nurse and the Professor
"It's unbelievable! Nothing like this has ever happened before!"
Poppy Pomfrey's face was flushed with anger, and she shouted in a sharp tone:
"As a professor, you actually got into a fight with your students! More than half of them are injured!"
"How could you treat your students like this? How could you treat your class this way? I've been at Hogwarts for so many years, and I've never seen a professor send all their students to the hospital!"
Professor Abigail weakly defended herself, "But if we really encountered an enemy..."
"The children are here to learn, not to go to war! They're only in their second year, and they're safe here at school! Even if they need practical training, it should be for the older students!"
"Professor Abigail, they are students, not soldiers, let alone the Suicide Squad!"
"I don't know what kind of battles you've faced before, but since the children call you Professor, please treat them with the care of a teacher and love them as if they were your own!"
"If you continue to treat your students so harshly, I will strongly request that Professor Dumbledore terminate your employment! I mean what I say!"
Poppy Pomfrey's anger swept through the classroom like a raging wind. Abigail tried to speak up against the fury several times, but couldn't find the opportunity, and her expression gradually became dazed.
Then, Poppy Pomfrey waved her wand, causing the unconscious students to float, and she stomped out, leaving behind a trail of heavy footsteps.
A group of students glanced at Professor Abigail and then, like little chicks, tiptoed after the school nurse.
Michael walked a short distance and realized someone seemed to be missing. He turned back to look for them, and before he reached the door, he heard a muffled 'bang.'
A pair of suspicious eyes peered from behind the door, and Michael took a quick glance. Vold was getting up from the floor, wiping the blood from the corner of his eye with his arm.
On the other side of the classroom, Professor Abigail's forehead also sported a new bruise.
"It's clear that your physical abilities are slightly better than your peers, but you're still far behind the students of Wagadu."
Abigail said, "Many British wizards believe that as long as a wizard is proficient in spells, it's enough. But I can prove that this idea is completely wrong!"
She tore open her robe and threw it aside, revealing a black sports outfit underneath. Her waist was adorned with dangerous gadgets, and her slender limbs hinted at smooth muscle lines even beneath the clothing.
The woman was like a leopard, her wand in hand like sharp claws. She leaned forward slightly and then charged out!
"Bang!"
In the next instant, the light of the spell was still blocked by the armor, but Vold was grabbed by the shoulder and thrown out!
Michael covered his eyes, unable to bear the sight, and from inside, he heard a series of crackling sounds of beating.
"Should we get a professor to stop this?" a trembling voice asked from the side, "If this continues, I'm afraid Vold will be beaten to death."
Michael turned his head and saw that it was Padma hiding beside him. On the other side of the classroom door, Anthony and Terry were also hiding.
"Why did you come back too?" Michael asked in surprise.
"Do you think no one saw you sneaking back?" Anthony gestured with his head, "Poppy Pomfrey hasn't gone far! Professor McGonagall's office is nearby..."
Michael hesitated, shaking his head.
"Let's wait a little longer... If Vold didn't want to get beaten up, he would have left with us earlier..."
Suddenly, a chaotic sound of "Whoosh" filled the classroom, as if hundreds of birds had taken flight simultaneously.
The group hurriedly leaned forward to look, only to see countless birds attacking the new professor, a giant spider clicking its way toward her, and a book, dropped by someone, suddenly grew and unfurled like a massive curtain, wrapping around Abigail.
Vold, his face covered in blood, staggered to his feet, raised his wand, and roared, "Expelliarmus!"
Abigail's wand immediately flew out!
"YES!" Michael excitedly punched the air, and the others almost jumped for joy.
But then, a figure emerged, using her arm to shield her eyes, crashing through the obstacles in front of her and swinging a powerful punch!
"Bang!"
The black-haired boy slammed heavily into the wall, his head lolling to the side, motionless.
Everyone stared in horror, momentarily forgetting even to scream.
The birds that had been pecking at Abigail's hair vanished instantly, and the enlarged spiders shrank back to their original size, wandering around confusedly before scurrying away along the wall.
"Just one little guy, and he's quite a handful!"
Abigail muttered, wiping the blood from the corner of her mouth, and turned her head sharply to see four heads peering in from the doorway, like a string of cherries.
"Hey! You lot!"
The young wizards all shuddered in fear.
They had initially thought the professor's teaching style was too brutal, but now, in comparison, they realized they had been dealing with a "gentle" version.
If Professor Abigail had "taught" them the way she had with Vold… Michael suspected he might not see the next sunrise.
"…P-P-Professor?" Anthony stammered.
"Goldstein, right?" Professor Abigail said. "Take this kid to the hospital wing and tell Madam Pomfrey that he came to me on his own for a continuation of our duel, not because I bullied him!"
With that, she waved her hand, and the robe on the ground jumped up and wrapped itself around her. She strode quickly out of the classroom and only winced in the empty corridor did she let out a pained hiss.
Michael and the others, of course, didn't know about the professor's predicament state. They watched in awe as her figure disappeared, then ran inside.
Padma's Transfiguration was good; she turned a table into a stret The boys used a Levitation Charm to levate Vold, they carried him to the hospital wing and relayed the professor's message.
Then…
They were also scoldly reprimanded by Madam Pomfrey, who paused to catch her breath, they hurriedly excused themselves and fled.
Once outside the hospital wing, they realized their injuries were still unattended to. But to turn back… they lacked the courage.
"I actually brought White Moss Essence," Michael said, lifting his damp book bag, and smiled wryly. "No worries, I have a bottle in the dorm."
Since Astronomy class was still a few hours away, they headed a while, the group walked toward the Ravenclaw Tower.
Climbing the stairs, which usually felt long, seemed even longer and more painful with their injuries.
After a long while, Terry sighed deeply:
"When will our Defense Against the Dark Arts class ever be normal?"
