Chapter 229: Let's Talk, Sag
Chapter 229: Let's Talk, Sag
The person forced out of the sky by Sag was none other than Kizaru, the Admiral!
At this moment, all the executives stood up, ready for combat but also instinctively forming a perimeter around the World Nobles.
"A Marine Admiral!"
Rozwald cried out upon seeing the figure in the sky, "Kill them! Kill these vile commoners who dare to insult us!"
Smack!
A sharp sword struck his mouth, knocking out a tooth and sending a few drops of blood flying.
Lili brought her White Lightning to bear on his neck. "Say another word, and I'll kill you."
"Cheap... cheap..."
Under the threat of death, Rozwald stammered but couldn't bring himself to finish his sentence.
The World Nobles weren't fools. They were just arrogant and saw people as less than human, but that didn't mean they were stupid—at least, not all of them.
With a sword to his neck, it would be meaningless and suicidal to continue his diatribe.
"Kizaru?"
Ulqi's body tensed as he let out a bizarre laugh. "I never expected that my first battle after joining the Heavenly Disaster Pirate Crew would be against a Marine Admiral! What a thrilling introduction to the first-rate Heavenly Disaster Pirate Crew!"
"You're overthinking it," Hawkins said from the other side, drawing a Tarot card and glancing at it before continuing in a detached tone, "The only one among us who can fight an Admiral is Sag. His chance of defeat is 12%, and the probability of our withdrawal is 98%. We're in no danger this time."
It was evident that the World Nobles were valuable hostages.
There was no way they'd be in any real danger.
Bang!
The sound from the sky intensified as two colliding figures swiftly vanished from view, leaving only a flash of light in their wake. Soon, a pursuing shadow appeared, revealing their true forms.
Sag aimed a kick at Kizaru's head, but it was caught by an even longer leg. Sag bared his fangs in a sinister grin as he swung his arm at incredible speed, throwing a Haki bullet. However, when it struck Kizaru's body, it only hit a rapidly dispersing mass of light.
Boom!
The two figures reappeared in another corner of the hall, clashing once more.
Each time they appeared, Sag attacked with both fists and feet, either punching or kicking. Yet, Kizaru countered solely with one leg, effortlessly turning the rest of the attacks into light that dissipated harmlessly.
The exchange was so swift that even the afterimages were barely discernible. To the onlookers, who could only catch fleeting glimpses of their forms at certain points, the fight was a blur.
No matter how hard Lili strained her eyes, the speed was beyond her comprehension, prompting her to tighten her grip on her sword's hilt instinctively.
The gap was just too vast.
Even this speed alone rendered them powerless.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The two figures flickered across the hall, clashing several times before Kizaru darted beneath the ceiling, forming an 'OK' sign with his hands.
"Yatagarasu!"
Countless laser bullets rained down from his hands.
Below, Sag bared a mouthful of gleaming white teeth as he summoned a swirling mass of black fire-like Haki, "Heavenly Destruction: Meteor Shower!"
A hundred times speed!
The incredible velocity caused Sag's arms to disappear from view, replaced by a torrent of Haki bullets that rivaled the laser rain in number. The two forces collided, creating rippling waves of impact.
"Oh? The numbers have increased. How curious. Did you gain something, Heavenly Disaster?" Kizaru taunted, lips curled.
The intensity of the Haki remained unchanged, but the sheer quantity had increased dramatically, something the previous Sag couldn't achieve. This was indeed an enhancement.
Even a quantitative change could lead to a qualitative leap.
Boom!!
The Haki bullets and laser rain collided and detonated in midair, creating massive shockwaves that blew away the surrounding chairs and slammed them into the walls. The center of the hall became a cleared plain, and a thick cloud of dust rose in the aftermath.
Within the cloud of dust, Borsalino, the light, was about to rush towards the Celestial Dragons on the stage.
"Do you think I don't know what you're planning? Moon Walk: Flash!"
Just as the light moved, a figure appeared before the dispersing radiance, legs entwined with Haki, and delivered a powerful kick. The surprised Borsalino scattered into points of light, but Sag accelerated in that instant, causing his kick to land on empty air.
At the same time, Sag's body suddenly appeared where the legs had been, his hands in his pockets, and he viciously stomped towards Borsalino's head.
Bang!!
Sag's body shot backwards like a cannonball, but as he reached the front of the stage, he abruptly stopped and slammed into the ground, creating a dent.
Sag crossed his arms over his face, Haki swirling around him, as tendrils of smoke began to rise.
He lifted his eyes from his crossed arms, his face contorted with ferocity and provocation.
Borsalino hovered in the air, a smile on his face. "Can you keep up with my speed now? You're no longer a newcomer, it's truly frightening."
"Stop joking," Sag replied. "No matter how fast you are, you can't outrun light."
Sag lowered his hands and flung them to the side. "But keeping up with you isn't a problem. You alone can't stop me, Kizaru!"
No one could outrun light, not even at sea.
But in this narrow space, with Sag's speed enhanced a hundredfold, matching Borsalino's pace was effortless.
He now had the qualifications to trouble an Admiral!
"You're so confident," Borsalino chuckled. "Did you gain something in Impel Down, Heavenly Disaster? The Navy wants your information. Can you tell me what you desire after capturing the Celestial Dragons?"
"Hehehe," Sag laughed lowly, drawing his gun and aiming it at Borsalino. "Why don't you see for yourself? It'll be more accurate that way. Southern Cross Gunfire!"
Bang!
The moment the lead bullet left the barrel, it transformed into a residual image, rushing forward and rapidly expanding in size. From a tiny pellet, it grew larger than a cannonball, yet its speed remained unabated as it penetrated Borsalino's body.
Surprise flashed in Borsalino's eyes, and he turned into a beam of light, swiftly moving to the side, allowing the cannonball to crash into the ceiling.
Boom!!
The cannonball soared into the air, exploding into a massive black firework.
"Whoo-ho-ho-ho! What a magnificent display, Lily, Hawkins!"
Sag laughed heartily, gun in hand. "Monkey, this should suffice for your report, but I'm dissatisfied. Why was the news of me breaking out of Impel Down suppressed? Do you know how much this hindered my plans? This won't do; I wanted to develop in the New World!"
Breaking out of Impel Down was huge news, yet he hadn't seen a word about it in the newspapers. He had even punched the prison from a distance, causing half of it to collapse, but still, the news was suppressed.
"The World Government values its face, and so does the Navy," Borsalino said, looking at Sag. "So, you're truly the 'World Destroyer.' You've obtained an incredible ability. Now, let's talk terms. What do you desire after capturing the Celestial Dragons?"
Fight?
There's no need for that.
His priority was ensuring the safety of the Celestial Dragons; everything else was negotiable, especially with this thoroughly troublesome Heavenly Disaster.
This man's ability could utterly annihilate the Shabondy Archipelago.
