Chapter 226: Found You
Chapter 226: Found You
In the blink of an eye, two days had passed since Jiang Cheng left the headquarters. He no longer felt that peculiar sensation behind him.
Perhaps the Bloodhand Society had temporarily ceased their pursuit. Or maybe the trackers were too far away, and with his current psychic energy, he couldn't detect them.
After all, Bing Li had mentioned that there would be people from the Society following him for protection, but Jiang Cheng hadn't sensed them. If Bing Li was telling the truth, the only explanation was that they were too far away.
Out of caution, Jiang Cheng took a long detour before returning home.
While at headquarters, he would cultivate for two hours and then wander around the facility.
On several occasions, he felt the sensation of being watched from behind. When he turned around, the other party would be startled, then smile and greet him, appearing harmless.
The third day.
Jiang Cheng aimlessly wandered through the headquarters.
Upon seeing the training hall ahead, he walked straight towards it.
He visited this place two or three times a day for a simple reason: all Primordial Energy Warriors, regardless of their rank, would come to test their punch power daily, much like how dieters would measure their weight.
Aside from the restaurant, this was the most likely place to encounter spies.
In the hall, some people were vigorously punching the testing machines, some were resting, and others were chatting in groups.
Many turned to look at the newcomer.
"It's Canghai," someone greeted him.
"Here to test your punch power?"
"Yes," Jiang Cheng replied with a smile and a nod.
"Take it easy, kid. Don't advance too quickly," someone joked.
"Yeah, you just joined the Society less than half a month ago and already broke through to the second rank. Don't tell me you'll reach the third rank in the next month?"
"How is that possible? I was just lucky to open up two acupoints. The rest are too difficult; I can't even sense their locations."
"Hahaha, you'll get used to it."
"Yeah, it's not that easy. Being able to advance from the second to the third rank within a year is already impressive."
As they spoke, everyone secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
They were genuinely afraid that Jiang Cheng might be a genius.
"Is that him?"
Just then, a tall man turned his head. Upon seeing Jiang Cheng, a hint of surprise flashed in his eyes.
This guy was still alive!
Apparently, the assassin sent by the Society had been killed.
But this kid was brave enough to show up at the Society so soon. Wasn't he afraid that someone would inform the Society, sending trackers after him?
At that moment, Jiang Cheng felt a chill down his spine, different from the previous two days. This time, it was clearly hostile.
He quickly turned to look towards the source of the sensation.
The tall man hurriedly lowered his head, pretending to be nonchalant.
Jiang Cheng's gaze fell on the tall man, who was among several others, all intently watching the punch power testing machine.
"My instincts were right. The spy must be among these people."
Jiang Cheng narrowed his eyes, feeling a surge of excitement.
He hadn't found the spy completely, but at least he had a glimmer of hope.
The next step was to confirm which one it was.
With that in mind, Jiang Cheng found a punch power testing machine near the group and began testing his punch power.
"Bang!"
"Bang!"
Hearing the impact from behind, the tall man heaved a sigh of relief.
"You scared me," he thought to himself.
Perhaps it was due to his guilty conscience that when he saw Jiang Cheng looking his way, he instinctively lowered his head, avoiding eye contact.
Fortunately, his reaction was quick enough.
However, there was nothing out of the ordinary about the gaze.
In this hall, there were plenty of people watching him, but one more wouldn't make a difference.
But now that this kid had shown up, should he notify his superiors and take action today?
If they got rid of this guy early, they could get the remaining money sooner.
However, a sense of unease lingered in his heart.
Jiang Cheng's appearance here might not be as simple as it seemed. If it were him, and the Bloodhand Society knew he was here, there would be a spy within their organization. In that case, he wouldn't be at their headquarters.
No one would risk their life for a joke.
Unless, someone was forcing him to do this, to lure him out.
"That's right, it must be the case."
A cold laugh escaped the tall man's heart as he reached this conclusion.
Did they think they could catch him with this trick?
Was he really that stupid?
He was well aware that there were numerous exits in this area, including the one from the Martial Arts Academy. Could they have possibly followed him here?
Just then, the sound of footsteps behind him ceased.
The tall man slightly turned his head, and with his peripheral vision, he caught sight of Jiang Cheng's silhouette.
Should he take him out today?
Or wait a few more days?
Suddenly, Jiang Cheng turned around, his gaze fixed on the tall man.
"!!!"
The tall man was startled and almost jumped, quickly turning back around, his eyes fixed on the front.
What the hell was that?
Did the guy grow eyes on the back of his head?
Including the previous time, this was already the second time, right?
How did he know he was being watched?
The tall man's heart was filled with both doubt and unease.
After a moment, he slowly turned his head, using the corner of his eye to try and figure out what was going on.
Then he saw that Jiang Cheng was standing not far away, staring at him intently without moving.
Startled, he turned around again, his heart pounding like a well bucket being drawn up and down.
He really wanted to ask someone what was going on.
Could it be that this guy had discovered his true identity?
Impossible!
That evening, he hadn't revealed his true face, not even to the assassin, who didn't know who he was.
For the next two days, he was busy cultivating, and if it weren't for running into him by chance, he wouldn't have known that the other party was at their headquarters today.
So how could Jiang Cheng possibly know his identity?
There was no way, not even a one in a thousand or one in ten thousand chance!
"So it's him."
Jiang Cheng stared at the tall man.
He had intentionally approached the other party and thrown a few random punches before leaving.
The other party knew he was getting close, and when he left, he must have been unable to resist sneaking a look.
As it turned out, this was indeed the case.
The other party's second glance further confirmed that he was the person he was looking for!
However, he didn't recognize the other party.
Fortunately, this wasn't a major issue.
He walked over to a familiar person and pointed in the direction of the tall man.
"Oh, you mean White Bird?"
The other party glanced at the tall man and said enviously, "His strength is incredible; he's a Tier 6 Force Warrior."
"Tier 6."
Upon hearing this, Jiang Cheng's pupils dilated.
Impressive, the strength of an insider was so formidable?
"What's wrong? Are you looking for him?"
"Just curious, asking around."
Jiang Cheng smiled.
"Oh, don't be fooled by White Bird's strength. He's actually very easy to get along with. If you encounter any cultivation problems, you can also seek his help. He'll definitely share his knowledge with you."
The other party smiled.
