Chapter 225: You're a Good Person, Tom! (Additional Chapter for Patron Little Pig + 110)
*So, you use the knowledge I taught you to turn against me?*
Tom was devastated. He never expected that Ivan Hals, this scoundrel, would use the knowledge he taught him to fight back.
"So I always said you're a good person, Tom! It's a shame you're not willing to be any better", Ivan said sincerely, while handing Tom Riddle a "good person" card and placing the cover on the Diary.
At the same time, to be on the safe side, Ivan opened the system to check the status of the Horcrux.
Magic Item: Tom Marvolo Riddle's Diary (Horcrux)
Magic Power: Strong
Special Status: Sealed Magic
Description: This is a Horcrux created by Tom Marvolo Riddle when he was sixteen. The cover is made of a series of Sealing Runic Inscriptions. As long as it remains unopened, it is safe.
Seeing the system's description, Ivan finally breathed a sigh of relief.
He had always been worried that the power of the Horcrux Diary might be too strong, causing the Sealing Runic Inscriptions to fail. If that were the case, the cover he worked hard to create to restrict the Horcrux would be useless.
Fortunately, the effect was as he had anticipated.
After putting away the Horcrux, Ivan began to consider his next steps, which involved heading to the Chamber of Secrets to find a way to fuse multiple bloodlines.
The most concerning aspect for Ivan was, of course, the Basilisk in the Chamber of Secrets.
Although he could speak Parseltongue and the Basilisk wouldn't come out unless summoned, he still needed to prepare for the worst.
"What is the Basilisk most afraid of? It seems to be the crowing of a Rooster", Ivan vaguely remembered the information mentioned in the original story. It seemed he would need to steal a few Roosters from Hagrid just in case.
Using a Transfiguration Spell to create a few Roosters was also an option, but Ivan wasn't sure if their crowing would be effective.
Wasting no time, Ivan began his mission that afternoon!
Taking advantage of Hagrid's absence, Ivan sneaked into the farm and tied up a few Roosters to bring back.
He left a few Galleons in the chicken coop for Hagrid to buy replacements later.
However, the next problem was how to keep the Roosters. Keeping them in the dormitory would be strange and might raise suspicions.
If he kept them outside, there was a risk of them escaping or starving to death.
To solve this, Ivan used a Transfiguration Spell to turn the Roosters into Owls, planning to change them back when needed.
Just as Ivan finished, Harry and Ron happened to return, and the first thing they saw was a group of strange Owls on the floor.
They were awkwardly walking around the dormitory, and a few of them, still adjusting to their new bodies, fell over.
The lead Owl suddenly decided to crow, but the sound that came out shocked everyone—it was not its usual sound.
Maca, who was in the cage, curiously poked her head out to observe the strange "relatives" on the floor.
"Ivan, why do you need so many Owls?" Harry asked, puzzled.
"To deliver messages. You know, I've been receiving a lot of fan mail lately, so I'm borrowing a few Owls to help", Ivan casually lied.
"I think you're almost as bad as Lockhart", Ron shook his head and then looked at the group of Owls on the floor. "By the way, why do your Owls look so strange?"
"They just arrived today and might not have adapted to school life yet", Ivan also found the situation a bit strange, so he quickly made a cage to confine the Roosters that had been transformed into Owls, to prevent them from running around.
At the same time,
Hagrid, who had just returned from his routine patrol of the Forbidden Forest to his hut, stared at the empty coop with only a few feathers left. His smile immediately froze, and he angrily roared.
"Where are my chickens?!"
Saturday evening,
Ivan, having prepared everything, carefully avoided all prying eyes and stepped into the abandoned Girls' Bathroom. Two peculiar-looking Owls perched on his shoulders, accompanying him.
In the center of the Girls' Bathroom was a circular pool formed by a large number of Sinks.
Ivan easily found a snake-shaped engraving on one of the Brass Faucets.
Upon closer inspection, Ivan noticed that the snake engraving contained even smaller characters, densely packed and resembling snake scales.
Having learned much from Tom Riddle, Ivan knew that these tiny characters were the script created by Salazar Slytherin based on Parseltongue. This might be why the mechanism could be activated by Parseltongue.
"What are you doing here? No one usually comes here!"
A voice suddenly sounded beside Ivan.
Ivan turned around and saw a ghost wearing thick glasses and Ravenclaw robes floating toward him.
"Are you looking for something here?" Moaning Myrtle's ethereal figure drifted past Ivan, curiously examining him.
Ivan frowned, about to explain, but Myrtle's expression suddenly changed. She shrieked, "Or are you here to mock me too!"
Ivan paused, then decided to play along with Myrtle's words.
"Yes, that's right. I heard some legends that there's a short, fat, ugly, pimply, and tearful soul here, so I came to see for myself!"
"So what? You've seen me now. Do you think I'm like they say?" Myrtle sobbed, but her eyes never left Ivan, hoping this handsome boy would say something different.
"Now that I've seen you", Ivan glanced at Myrtle and nodded firmly. "They were right!"
"Ahh! Get out! Get out of here! I don't want to see you anymore!" Myrtle covered her face and screamed, darting into the farthest stall and hiding in the Toilet, the sound of her crying faintly audible.
Ivan shook his head, silently apologizing to himself, and then refocused on the Sink.
Taking advantage of Myrtle's absence as she wept in the stall, Ivan spoke in Parseltongue to the snake engraving on the Brass Faucet.
"Hisss~ (Open!)"
The snake engraving on the faucet lit up, and the dozen or so Sinks in front of him began to spin rapidly. Some sank into the ground, while others moved apart, revealing a Large Pipe in the center, wide enough for someone as big as Hagrid to crawl through.
The pipe was pitch black and seemed to stretch endlessly.
