Chapter 225: "The Bane Prince"
Chapter 225: "The Bane Prince"
There was one thing Kevin Plantagenet didn't mention: Siva didn't escape on his own. Kevin had deliberately let him go.
He chose to release Siva rather than kill him with his own hands, so that Aletia could be the one to take his life.
By personally slaying Siva, Aletia could gain the necessary prestige among the people, making her the favored leader of the Plantagenet Empire.
As for giving Siva a chance to catch his breath... that was a minor concern. The risk was worth taking for the ultimate victory.
Aletia's face was grave. "But, Great Ancestor, I'm only a Fourth-Class Mage. How can I possibly kill a Seventh-Class Siva?"
"Don't worry, I've already planned everything out," Kevin Plantagenet said confidently. "This avatar is made of pure energy, and it's at the peak of Seventh-Class. I will dismantle this avatar and transfer all its energy to you, giving you the power to defeat Siva."
"Dismantle the avatar?" Aletia was shocked, knowing what this meant.
By dismantling the avatar and transferring all its energy to her, the Great Ancestor would be permanently giving her a part of his own power! This was a tremendous gift, one that no Plantagenet emperor had ever received.
Kevin Plantagenet looked at Aletia with a kind expression. "After the avatar is dismantled, I won't be able to communicate with you through an avatar anymore. From then on, the path to reviving the Plantagenet Empire will be yours to walk alone.
Of course, you can seek help from the Bane Prince and Tina Garcia, whom I mentioned. They will be your best allies."
"Thank you, Great Ancestor! I'll do my best!" Aletia felt the weight of her responsibility grow heavier.
...
After finishing their discussion, Kevin Plantagenet casually dispelled the Silence Barrier.
But then he remembered something and turned to Aletia. "By the way, Aletia, regarding the education of your child with the Bane Prince, you can send the child to my main body. I can personally teach him some knowledge. The Plantagenet Empire cannot afford to have another ruler like your father."
Aletia was taken aback. "Child? What child?"
The players around them were also extremely surprised, their eyes widening as they looked over.
A child between the Bane Prince and Aletia? Players can have children with NPCs?
But Aletia is only 14 years old! The Bane Prince must be out of his mind!
Some players even glanced at Aletia's stomach, wondering...
The players were excited, quickly opening private chat windows and guild channels to share this news with their friends.
The news was too explosive, and before long, almost every player in the game knew about it.
Su Yu, however, was completely unaware of the commotion. He was still busy contacting players to come and take on the quest.
Once players entered within 40 meters of Kevin Plantagenet, they would receive a [Track Mystery] buff.
[Track Mystery]: When you come into contact with suspicious [clues], you will automatically receive a hint. Duration: 6 hours.
Receiving the buff, the players also triggered an epic side quest: [Find Siva].
[Find Siva (Epic)]
Quest Requirements: Investigate clues related to [Shadow Priest Siva] and find Siva.
Quest Rewards: For each clue you uncover, receive 1000 experience points and 10 Psychic Coins.
The first 5 players to find Siva will receive 20,000 experience points, 2000 Psychic Coins, a random epic-quality item suitable for their class, and a rare-quality [Pet Egg].
Upon receiving the quest, a player immediately posted a screenshot of the quest rewards on the forum.
The screenshot quickly caused a huge stir on the forum!
Epic-quality items! Rare-quality pet eggs!
These hadn't even appeared in the game yet!
Players, especially those already in Forest City, rushed over to Su Yu's location.
The Imperial Princess’s palace was now teeming with people, all hoping to find some luck here.
Seeing the crowd, Su Yu decided to stop recruiting more players. He went to join Eliza, catching up and discussing their next move.
After all, Forest City was now in ruins, the military’s strength was severely depleted, and it was uncertain how many high-ranking experts were still alive. If the rebels launched another attack, they would struggle to hold the city.
But seeing Su Yu standing beside the princess, many players winked and greeted him, "Hey, Boss Ke!"
Su Yu: "Hello."
Another player: "Hey, Duke Ke!"
Su Yu: "???"
Yet another player walked over and waved at Su Yu, "Hey, Beast!"
Su Yu: "..."
"You’re the beast, and your whole family is a bunch of beasts!" Su Yu grabbed this player and began to question him in detail. The player, grinning, explained everything he knew.
It turned out that a single comment from Kevin Plantagenet had sparked a lot of discussion among the players. Su Yu quickly posted an explanation on the forum to calm the situation. However, the nickname "Duke Ke" seemed to stick, and many players now referred to him by that title instead of "Boss Ke."
After receiving their mission, the players dispersed throughout the city to search for Sivan. The Crimson Eye Black Dragon was among them. Even he, with his high status, was tempted by the generous mission rewards and decided to try his luck.
Following his intuition, he led his team toward the southern slums of Forest City. The slums were a melting pot of people, densely populated and filled with buildings, making them the perfect hiding spot.
Most of the buildings in the slums had been destroyed by the recent shockwave, and the area was now in chaos, with injured civilians scattered around the collapsed houses.
As soon as they entered the slums, True Red and his team received a game notification.
"Ding, [Clue 1] discovered."
"[Clue 1] Objective: Heal [Farmer John]."
True Red was delighted; he hadn’t expected to find a clue so quickly!
Looking ahead, they saw an old farmer hugging his broken arm and wailing by a slanted wall. His name, displayed above his head, was [Farmer John].
Without needing to be told, the team’s healer, [Blue-Eyes White Dragon], cast several healing spells.
John’s health quickly restored to full, but the healing spells could only restore his health, not regrow his broken arm.
True Red and his team then scoured the nearby collapsed pharmacies, searching through the rubble to find splints, ointments, and bandages to treat John’s broken arm.
Once John’s arm was properly set, they received a game notification: "[Clue 1] completed."
True Red breathed a sigh of relief and asked John kindly, "Have you seen anyone wearing a black mage’s robe pass by? Or perhaps just a black mist?"
"No, adventurer," John shook his head, "I was in so much pain from my arm, I didn’t pay attention to anything else."
Just then, True Red and his team received another game notification: "[Clue 1] is invalid. Please find the next clue."
True Red: "..."
