Chapter 222: The Magicrobots Battle the Basilisk (First Update)
"Close it, I'm going back!"
Jerry's hands trembled as he wrote a line in the diary, then pressed the diary against the dragon's head.
Voldemort knew that Jerry was in a state of fear and shouldn't be further agitated, so he hissed to close the entrance to the Chamber of Secrets.
As the entrance to the Chamber of Secrets closed, Jerry quietly slipped the yellow orb he had just taken out into his pocket.
Then, he snapped the diary shut and returned to the Slytherin dormitory.
Throwing the diary into an empty spatial pouch, he left a phantom clone lying on the bed while his true form returned to the spatial box to begin the daily meditation technique practice.
He definitely had to enter the Chamber of Secrets, but not today, and certainly not with the diary.
The next midnight.
Jerry once again left the Slytherin dormitory invisibly and headed to the second-floor girls' bathroom.
Just like the previous day, he first immobilized Myrtle with magic before taking out a red orb and placing it on the dragon's head engraved with a small snake.
As magic power flowed into the orb, it emitted a hissing sound identical to the one the diary had produced when opening the entrance to the Chamber of Secrets the day before.
It turned out that while in the French Magic Street, Jerry had bought a magic item from a shop that could record sounds.
Yesterday, he had used the red orb to secretly record Voldemort's Parseltongue command "open", and the yellow orb to record "close", ensuring he could enter the Chamber of Secrets even without the diary.
Although his memory was good enough to remember Voldemort's two commands, he wasn't confident he could mimic them accurately, as he wasn't skilled in ventriloquism.
He was also concerned that overly technological items, like a recording device, might be affected and fail within the Hogwarts Castle.
As the red orb's hissing sounded, the pipe passage from yesterday reappeared.
Jerry leaped into the pipe, sliding down to the stone tunnel from the previous day. He didn't immediately proceed but first released a robot soldier.
"How is it, Number One? Can you move normally?"
Number One flapped its steel wings, feeling its metal body, and reported to Jerry:
"Master, I can move normally, no problem!"
Jerry's face lit up with a satisfied smile.
Within the range of Hogwarts Castle, the Four Founders had cast special magic that not only restricted Apparition but also caused most Muggle items to malfunction.
However, Jerry recalled that in the original story, Ron's flying Magic car, modified by Arthur, could still operate normally even after landing within the castle's range.
So he deduced that as long as an item was magically enhanced, it wouldn't be affected, even if its main components were Muggle items.
He had cast the Enlightenment Charm on his twelve robot soldiers, and their wings and greatswords were all magically enhanced. Therefore, they were likely to function normally within Hogwarts Castle.
And the facts proved his guess correct.
Leading Number One, he walked to the wall at the end of the tunnel. Instead of immediately using the red orb to open the stone wall, he began to take items out of the box.
First, he released the remaining eleven robot soldiers, then a cage containing at least dozens of roosters, and finally, a twenty-meter-long plastic dragon model.
Jerry had thoroughly researched the basilisk in the library books.
It was a magical creature bred by a Dark Wizard using dark magic to incubate an egg under a toad. The longer it lived, the more powerful it became.
The basilisk is classified as a highly dangerous creature and is strictly prohibited from being bred by the Ministry of Magic. Once a basilisk reaches a certain age, its danger level far surpasses that of Fire Dragons.
If a basilisk so desires, it can instantly kill any person or animal that meets its gaze, even through a mirror, which results in petrification.
The basilisk's skin is covered in hard scales, providing it with extremely strong physical defense and the ability to deflect most spells.
It is a creature with both high physical and magical resistance.
Its venomous fangs are so potent that they can even damage Voldemort's Horcrux.
Therefore, to battle a basilisk, one must close their eyes to avoid being killed by its gaze.
Now, behind this stone wall lies a basilisk hatched by one of the Four Founders of Hogwarts, Slytherin, which has lived for a thousand years.
Its power is so great that, unless you are a witch of Dumbledore's caliber, no other witch can defeat it in a one-on-one battle.
However, the basilisk has a fatal weakness: the crow of a rooster. A basilisk with insufficient strength can be killed outright by the crow of a rooster.
Even a thousand-year-old basilisk would have its power significantly reduced by the crow of a rooster.
"Dragon Transformation Spell!"
Using the dragon transformation spell, Jerry transformed the plastic dragon into a Magic Dragon. He split a thread of consciousness to control his body, took out the red orb, and used Parseltongue to open the stone wall leading to the Chamber of Secrets.
As the stone wall opened, the Magic Dragon charged in first, followed by twelve robot soldiers, and finally, fifty clucking roosters.
Once all the roosters were inside the Chamber of Secrets, Jerry took out the yellow orb and decisively closed the stone wall.
Go and fight the basilisk? He wasn't that foolish!
His magic was largely ineffective against the basilisk, and his enhanced physical abilities wouldn't withstand a single swipe of the basilisk's tail. Direct eye contact would be fatal. What was the point of going in?
This setup was perfect. With the stone wall closed, he could remotely control the Magic Dragon and the twelve robot soldiers to gang up on the basilisk. How perfect was that?
The Magic Dragon, being a creature of magic, had no fear of the basilisk's gaze, while the twelve robot soldiers were merely made of steel. The weak roosters were the basilisk's natural enemies.
Closing his eyes, Jerry focused his main attention on the Magic Dragon's vision.
Before him was a long, dimly lit, and enormous room, estimated to be about fifty meters high. On both sides were numerous stone pillars carved with coiling and entwined snakes, towering up to support the ceiling that faded into the darkness above.
Directly in front was a giant statue as tall as the room, pressed against the dark, black wall behind it.
The statue had a wizened, monkey-like face with a sparse, long beard that almost reached the hem of the stone-carved wizard's robe. Two gray, large feet stood on the smooth floor of the room.
Jerry knew this was one of the Four Founders, Slytherin, and the basilisk was sleeping inside that statue.
As if sensing the intrusion into the Chamber of Secrets, the statue's face began to move. Its mouth opened wider and wider until it transformed into a massive black hole.
A terrifying twenty-meter-long basilisk slowly crawled out from the black hole.
"Take it down!"
At Jerry's command, he controlled the Magic Dragon to charge forward and spew a burst of Magic flames. The twelve robot soldiers quickly flapped their steel wings, took to the air, and opened fire with their machine guns, unleashing a barrage of bullets at the basilisk.
