Chapter 220: Everyone Thinks I'm a Master of Magic!
Chapter 220: Everyone Thinks I'm a Master of Magic!
Ivan sighed. Just in case, he needed to find Tom a new place to stay.
Although he had once made a Diary Cover to limit Tom Riddle's power overflow, it was clearly not necessary at the moment.
There was no other way around it; Tom Riddle was simply too smart.
Ivan was certain that if he dared to do this, Tom would definitely notice something was amiss, leading to a severely deteriorated relationship.
He still had many questions that needed answers, so now was not the time to completely fall out.
"Strange, when did Tom become so proactive?" Ivan rubbed his chin. During this exchange, Tom had revealed a lot of information, even showing him a part of his childhood memories, which was unlike Tom's usual behavior.
Ivan didn't realize that after being confined for two months, Tom Riddle was already restless. He was afraid of being forgotten again and thus desperately needed to prove his worth.
Unable to figure it out, Ivan pushed it to the back of his mind and checked the system's task updates.
【Task: Bloodline Mystery
Task Objective: Find a method to fuse multiple bloodlines
Current Task Progress: 25%
Task Reward: Legendary Value * 1
】
"Only increased by ten percent?" Ivan saw that the task progress had barely reached a quarter and was immediately puzzled. After some thought, he understood.
Tom Riddle had said a lot, but the content truly relevant to the task was minimal, and it was uncertain whether it was true or not. Even this small improvement was already quite good.
Thinking about this, Ivan felt somewhat helpless and fell into a brief hesitation.
He considered finding a spider or a cockroach to let Tom recover a bit of his strength, so he could learn Parseltongue and extract more information.
Otherwise, Ivan suspected Tom wouldn't reveal any useful information to him again.
The next morning, Ivan kept yawning while eating breakfast in the Great Hall.
Last night, he had believed Tom's lies, transformed into his Animagus form, and wandered around the Slytherin common room, hoping to find the legendary clues left by Salazar Slytherin.
In Ivan's view, the most likely place for Salazar Slytherin to leave clues was there.
Unfortunately, he wasted the entire night and found nothing.
He wondered if Tom had eliminated those clues.
Ivan sighed, feeling his options were dwindling.
He had hoped to find a breakthrough from other places, but it seemed unlikely now.
While Ivan was lost in thought, Harry and Ron, who were discussing something nearby, suddenly turned to him and asked, "Ivan, are you going to the Duelling Club next Friday night?"
Ivan was momentarily stunned but quickly realized what they were talking about and asked in confusion, "Duelling Club? Is Professor Lockhart planning a second session?"
Ivan found it strange. If he remembered correctly, in the original timeline, Lockhart's Duelling Club only held one session before being canceled.
Could it be that because he didn't embarrass himself and instead made a big splash, Lockhart decided to continue the Duelling Club?
"I think the Duelling Club is pretty good; it's much more interesting than classes", Ron said casually.
Ivan smiled but didn't say anything. He wasn't surprised that the Duelling Club was so popular.
After all, the young wizards at Hogwarts had finally learned various curses or defensive spells in school but had no place to use them. This was a common grievance among all the young wizards.
And the Duelling Club organized by Lockhart effectively solved this problem, so how could it not be popular?
At this moment, Hermione also enthusiastically added,
“I heard that Professor Lockhart has also invited Professors Flitwick, Pomona Sprout, and of course, Professor Snape to teach the class this time!”
“What about Professor Mcgonagall?” Ivan asked curiously. Since Lockhart had invited the heads of the three major houses, why didn’t he invite Professor Mcgonagall?
“Professor Lockhart is going to teach us Gryffindor personally, so he didn’t invite Professor Mcgonagall.” Harry sighed helplessly.
Ivan didn’t expect Lockhart to make such a big fuss. He wasn’t afraid that it would all fall apart and expose him.
Professors like Snape were not as easy to fool as ordinary young wizards; they could easily see through Lockhart’s facade.
In fact, Lockhart was already regretting it.
So, as soon as the last class of the morning ended, Lockhart immediately found Ivan, who hadn’t yet returned to his dormitory, and brought him to his office.

Lockhart locked the door right away and pulled out a large bag of gold Galleons from his office cabinet, throwing it on the table.
“This is what you wanted!”
Ivan didn’t take it immediately but looked around. Lockhart’s office had changed a lot since the last time he was here.
The full-length mirror in the corner had been replaced with a different style, and all the photos on the walls had been taken down. The desk, which was a bit cluttered, now held letters from fans and a large number of his autobiographies, along with a few standard spellbooks and magical theory textbooks.
“I thought you spent all day replying to fan letters or showing off, but I didn’t expect you to still read some magic books.” Ivan said, somewhat surprised.
“Can’t help it, a true master of magic can’t be completely clueless.” Lockhart shrugged.
Ivan didn’t respond. He opened the bag of gold Galleons on the table, waved his wand to count them, and quickly stopped because the number was off.
Ivan immediately turned to look at Lockhart.
“There are five thousand Galleons here. The extra is to ask you for another favor!” Lockhart said earnestly, moving the bag of gold Galleons closer to Ivan.
“Next Friday evening, I will be hosting the second Duelling Club! All the other heads of the houses will be there! And I, a true master of magic, cannot and should not only know three spells!”
“But you’re not a master of magic, you’re just a fraud with a fancy title. I advise you to know your limits.” Ivan ruthlessly exposed Lockhart’s true nature, hoping to bring him back to reality.
“Yes, I know, of course I do! But the problem is that so many people witnessed me effortlessly performing Wandless Magic and successfully stopping a chaotic situation last night.”
Lockhart paced back and forth in front of his desk, a strange excitement on his face. He muttered to himself, “Now everyone is talking about it, they think I’m a master of magic!”
You might be mistaken, apart from your fans, no one really thinks that!
Ivan silently thought to himself.
