Chapter 219: The Sealed Wall (Third Update)
Chapter 219: The Sealed Wall (Third Update)
September 1, 1992, the day school started.
Jerry woke up early, carrying his suitcase and holding Crookshanks, said goodbye to the bar owner Tom, and took the subway to King's Cross Station.
He could now use the Tracing Shield Spell to block the Trace and Apparate directly to the station, but he didn't do that because it wasn't necessary.
Nothing is foolproof, and he thought it was best not to be overly reckless unless absolutely necessary.
Besides, taking the subway wasn't bad at all. London's population wasn't large, so the subway wasn't very crowded. It was also the hot month of September, and he could see many fashionably dressed young women, which was quite a pleasant sight.
As Jerry grew older, his body produced more and more youth hormones, so sometimes it wasn't a conscious choice but rather an instinct to steal a few extra glances.
At the entrance of King's Cross Station, he waited a moment and then saw Hermione, who had been driven there by the Granger family.
Waving goodbye to the Granger family, Jerry and Hermione walked and chatted their way to Platform Nine and Three-Quarters.
"Wait, no rush. Let's wait for Harry and the others!"
Seeing Hermione about to enter the platform, Jerry pulled her back and suggested.
He remembered that this time, Harry and Ron were unable to enter the platform because Dobby had sealed the entrance, forcing them to fly to school in Arthur's flying car.
As a result, Arthur's unauthorized modification of Muggle items was exposed, and he was fined fifty Galleons by the Ministry of Magic.
During his time at the Burrow, Arthur had taught him a lot of useful Alchemy knowledge, and Jerry felt he should help out. He also knew how poor the Weasleys were.
The last time they were in Diagon Alley buying textbooks, Harry had told him that when they went to Gringotts with Arthur, Arthur's vault only had one Galleon and a few dozen Sickles left.
So many of Ginny's things were secondhand.
Fifty Galleons would likely cut Arthur's next month's salary in half and severely impact the Weasleys' standard of living.
Jerry never let those who had helped him down and was just as unforgiving to those who had wronged him.
Although Hermione was a bit surprised that Jerry wasn't waiting on the train but at the platform entrance, she didn't say much.
In Hermione's mind, Jerry's image was such that she wouldn't question such a decision.
Half an hour before the train's departure.
The Weasleys and Harry finally arrived at the entrance to Platform Nine and Three-Quarters, a bit earlier than Jerry had expected.
After a brief greeting, everyone started making their way through the barrier one by one.
"Jerry, Hermione, you go first. Ron and I will go last!"
Seeing the Weasleys and Ginny pass through the wall, Harry said to Jerry and Hermione.
"Go ahead, you and Ron go first. Hermione and I will go last!"
Jerry smiled and waved.
House-elf Dobby was likely hiding nearby with a Disillusionment Charm. If they went in first, Dobby would immediately seal the entrance.
"Alright, Ron, let's go together!"
Harry didn't object. After greeting Ron, the two took a deep breath and pushed their trolleys, accelerating toward the wall.
“Bang! Ouch! Giao!”
As expected, the two carts crashed heavily to the ground. The cage containing Harry’s owl flew out of the small cart, and Hedwig, enraged, screeched at Harry as he scrambled to his feet, seemingly accusing him of his incompetence.
“What’s going on? Why can’t we get through?”
After putting the scattered items back into the cart, Harry and Ron were completely bewildered.
“Someone has closed the passage in the wall. No, the wall has very complex Spatial Magic. There’s no way I can reopen it with my current abilities!”
Hermione stepped forward, touched the wall, and felt the magic emanating from it, then sighed in frustration.
Hearing Hermione’s words, Ron’s face turned pale with fear.
“What do we do now? If we can’t get through and miss the train, we’ll be expelled!”
Harry and Hermione’s faces also changed.
“Such a minor issue, the school wouldn’t expel us for that!”
After persuading the station guard who had come to check the situation, Jerry approached with a smile.
When you’re in school, being late always feels like the end of the world, especially if you find your homeroom teacher waiting at the school gate. It feels like the end of the world.
But as you grow older, you realize that what once seemed like a huge problem is actually quite minor compared to the challenges you face in the real world.
Especially in a situation like this, where the delay is due to external factors, explaining the situation clearly should resolve any issues.
If you’re assertive, like Draco Malfoy, you could even have your father file a complaint about Hogwarts’ safety measures during the start of the school year.
After all, two young wizards nearly got injured because the passage was closed.
Jerry also touched the wall, sensing the magical vibrations within, then drew his wand and pointed it at the wall. A wave of magical power passed through, and the wall rippled like water.
He reached out and touched the wall, instantly passing through it.
“Fixed. You can go through now!”
Withdrawing his hand, Jerry turned to Harry, Ron, and Hermione.
His Alchemy skills had improved significantly after learning from Arthur. To him, the wall at Platform Nine and Three-Quarters was enchanted with Spatial Magic using Alchemy. To open and close the passage, one needed a good understanding of both Spatial Magic and Alchemy.
This also suggested that Dobby’s magical abilities were quite strong among house-elves.
Seeing Jerry resolve the issue with a simple wave of his wand, Harry, Ron, and Hermione were speechless.
Jerry’s magical abilities often exceeded their expectations, and sometimes they even had the impression that his skills were on par with some of the teachers at Hogwarts.
With the passage reopened, the four of them walked through one by one.
Indeed, after their previous experience, Harry and Ron were no longer brave enough to run through the passage.
This time, it went smoothly. Clearly, Dobby knew that with Jerry around, blocking the wall was futile.
When they reached the train, there were only a few minutes left before departure.
The Weasleys, who were rather carefree, were still talking to Ginny through the train window, clearly unaware that Harry and Ron were missing.
Perhaps they never imagined that Harry and Ron would be trapped outside the passage, thinking they had been separated by the crowd and had already boarded the train.
Or maybe their attention was focused on Ginny, who, after six sons, was the Weasleys’ long-awaited daughter.
