Chapter 219: Natsu: The Transport Was Awesome!
Chapter 219: Natsu: The Transport Was Awesome!
If the weather was good, they could have arrived by night, but today was clearly one of those bad luck days.
The journey along this route was marked by strong winds and high waves, and they didn't reach the port until the next morning.
When they arrived at the Cat Transformation Inn, Natsu refused to get into a carriage again, so Rhod had to have one of the river crabs guide them instead.
They made their way through the same rugged path as before, and finally reached the small village of Shilwellen.
Erza dragged her luggage behind her and looked around: "It looks like a peaceful little village."
Happy exclaimed: "Hey! Is this Sharuru's village?"
"No more transportation!" Natsu cheered.
Rhod didn't have the heart to tell him just yet, as he knew that they still had to continue on the carriage.
Rhod was familiar with this village and, after asking the villagers, he led them directly to Wendy's house.
When they arrived, Wendy was drawing a magic circle in the yard with a wooden stick.
However, once she finished, the magic circle didn't activate, and Wendy looked a bit disappointed.
Sharuru held a thick magic book and helped Wendy check the circle.
"Wendy!" Rhod called out.
"Sharuru!" Happy followed.
Wendy turned around, briefly surprised, and then her face lit up with delight: "Mr. Rhod!"
"Is it you? And the stray cat?" Sharuru asked, surprised.
Before Rhod could enter, Wendy ran over, but she only managed two steps before she face-planted on the ground.
A standard face-plant.
Everyone watched in pain, and Rhod silently noted that he would need to be ready to help her up next time.
The fall didn't dampen her spirits, and she greeted them enthusiastically: "Mr. Rhod, Mr. Natsu, Happy, and... are you Miss Erza?"
Erza smiled: "Hello."
"Sharuru, quick, it's Miss Erza."
"I know, I saw her last time in the demon's tail," Sharuru said nonchalantly.
"Sharuru, do you want to eat some fish?" Happy asked, opening the small green bundle he had been carrying, "We just caught them this morning."
"I've already eaten," Sharuru said, not very interested, "But let's go inside first."
Sharuru was very hospitable, as if she didn't want the Fairy Tail to be underestimated.
Rhod didn't mind these things and asked: "How have you been lately?"
"Fine, everything is the same as before, the village is just as quiet," Wendy felt that everything was fine, and she had been happy in the guild, "But Dragon Slayer Magic is hard to learn, and I haven't made much progress recently."
"Dragon Slayer Magic? Didn't you want to use that move on me last time? Teach it to Wendy."
"Are you a fool? My Dragon Slayer Magic is Fire Dragon Slayer Magic, and Wendy's is Sky Dragon Slayer Magic, how could they be the same?"
Being called a fool...
Rhod argued: "They are all Dragon Slayer Magic, there should be some common ground, right? At least share some learning experiences?"
"Experiences? My Dragon Slayer Magic was taught by Igneel, as long as this, and like that... and it's done," Natsu waved his fists, speaking incoherently.
Wendy laughed awkwardly: "Not at all."
She didn't understand at all.
Sharuru poured everyone a cup of tea.
Happy held his teacup but didn't drink it.
After Rhod and Wendy exchanged pleasantries, Sharuru then asked: "So, what's the purpose of this visit? Is it another nearby mission, or are you here to stay?"
She looked at them and thought they didn't look like they were on a trip.
Rhod replied: "This isn't a stay, we have a mission and need your help."
Rhod gave Wendy the commission form and explained the situation with Lissana.
"Since many doctors couldn't cure her, I thought it would be best to have Wendy take a look," Rhod explained.
Wendy clearly felt sympathetic towards Lissana's situation and immediately said, "I want to go."
Erza, however, cautioned, "Don't rush into a decision. This mission is dangerous.
The worst-case scenario is that it's not just a strange illness but a curse or even involvement with demons. You need to think carefully."
Rhod nodded, "That's right. Think it over and it would be best to get Master Robelus's opinion as well."
Wendy's face showed fear. She hadn't thought it through, and the mention of the Black Magic Cult and demons was indeed terrifying.
Happy was the first to object, "No way! You can't go on such a dangerous mission!"
"Happy..." Wendy really wanted to help.
"Wendy isn't good at fighting. If we encounter demons, it will be too dangerous!"
Natsu, however, was brash, "No problem! I'll take care of any demons!"
Rhod spoke seriously, "If we do encounter demons, I can ensure Wendy's safety by getting her out of there quickly."
Erza nodded, "We will do our best to protect Wendy."
"Please wait, I'll ask Master's opinion!" Wendy ran off.
"Wait, Wendy!" Happy was a bit angry. She was clearly going to agree to the mission.
...
When they left the Cat Transformation Inn, the group had grown to include Wendy and Happy.
They boarded the long-distance carriage to Pop Town. Natsu and Erza sat on one side, while Rhod and Wendy sat on the other.
Happy was on Rhod's lap, trying to get closer, while Sharuru was on Wendy's lap.
Wendy whispered, "Happy, you didn't have to come."
Happy replied unhappily, "How could I let you go so far alone?"
Wendy smiled gently at her.
Happy whined, "Sharuru~"
Sharuru moved a bit closer to Wendy, "Don't get so close, tomcat."
"Sharuru, be polite," Wendy gently scolded, then she looked at Natsu with concern, "Mr. Natsu, are you feeling unwell?"
"It's just motion sickness," Rhod couldn't understand Natsu.
The moment he talked about facing powerful demons, he forgot about his motion sickness and eagerly climbed into the carriage, only to turn into a mess as soon as it started moving.
"Motion sickness might be a problem with balance," Wendy thought for a moment, then extended her hand towards Natsu, her palm glowing, "Troya."
"Ugh... Ugh?" Natsu, who had been feeling extremely nauseous due to motion sickness, suddenly felt much better.
He sat up straight, his expression gradually becoming excited, "Oh~~ What is this?"
Rhod was surprised, "You can even cure motion sickness?"
Wendy smiled happily, "Troya is a support magic that helps adjust balance. Although I'm not good at fighting, I know many support magics."
Erza praised, "That's impressive."
Wendy blushed at the compliment.
"Ahaha! This is great, the transportation is awesome!" Natsu excitedly stood up and sat down again, like a husky in the snow.
If the space wasn't limited, he might have done a backflip on the spot.
Natsu even stuck his head out the window, "The view is great! Hey, driver, can you go faster?"
"Ahahaha... The transportation is awesome!"
It was still winter, and the view was far from great, but Rhod found Natsu's enthusiasm a bit annoying:
"Wendy, maybe you should cancel that magic. He's too noisy."
