Chapter 219: Idle Chatter
Chapter 219: Idle Chatter
At the Shrek Academy, the Divine Spirit Douluo, Ya Li, slowly pushed open the door to Wang Si's forging chamber. For some reason, Yun Ming had already informed him, so the door to the chamber was unlocked, and Ya Li entered without hindrance.
Inside, Wang Si, bare-chested, was rhythmically hammering away at the metal before him.
Seeing this, Ya Li frowned slightly. Before he joined the inner court, Shrek had conducted a thorough investigation into his background. During his time in the outer court, he had wreaked havoc on several talented female students with promising aptitudes.
In particular, Yuan Yuxi and Wusi Duo were influenced by him to the extent that they couldn't even forge a complete set of Ziji Doukai, and they failed to enter the inner court as a result.
Seeing Wang Si's posture now, Ya Li couldn't help but wonder: "Surely he isn't interested in me?"
And that possibility seemed quite high!
Upon realizing this, Ya Li's gaze toward Wang Si made her want to shiver.
Wang Si turned his head to look at the green-haired woman, his gaze bold and challenging.
"Your Holiness, you can take a seat for a moment. I'll be done soon. Of course, it gets quite hot in the forging chamber; please bear with it," he said with a hint of impudence.
Ya Li smiled gently in response and took a seat on a chair farther away from the forging platform.
"There's no need to call me 'Your Holiness.' For now, I'm the acting dean of Shrek Academy, and you're a special consultant to the academy. Just call me Dean," she replied.
Wang Si nodded, his hammer continuing its relentless rhythm.
Recently, Yun Ming's sudden "insanity" had left the people of Shrek Academy at a loss.
To quickly stabilize the situation at the academy, Ya Li, once Yun Ming's lover, had no choice but to take on the role of acting dean.
Before Yun Ming's "self-destruction," he had entrusted Ya Li with his spear, which could now condense into a physical entity. Infused with a portion of Yun Ming's divine power, that spear was now akin to a divine artifact.
This also gave Ya Li some authority within the academy.
"Dean Ya Li, what brings you here today? Is there something you need my assistance with?" Wang Si asked, his eyes curious as he glanced at the various metals in the chamber.
Ya Li casually brushed off his question and continued to survey the room.
When this chamber was first allocated, it was empty except for some rare metals. Were these metals his new creations? Surely he hadn't arranged them like this on purpose?
As Wang Si's hammer fell, a gleam of light shone, and the metal emitted a faint soul fluctuation.
Ya Li's eyelids twitched involuntarily. These soul-forged metals were indeed the product of Wang Si's craftsmanship.
Seeing Wang Si set down his hammer, Ya Li clasped her hands in her lap, maintaining an air of calm and elegance.
But as her eyes casually swept the room, they landed on a milky substance that made her feel uncomfortable.
This was a forging chamber, yet someone seemed to have used it for their amusement.
Wang Si wiped the sweat from his body with a towel and sat down across from Ya Li.
Their eyes met—one pair curious and appraising, the other defiant and filled with loathing.
"Dean Ya Li, may I take a look at your four-character battle armor?" Wang Si asked boldly.
With Ya Li's consent, he gently tapped the armor with his hammer and partially channeled his martial soul, causing five sharp, black-gold dragon claws to sprout from his right hand.
He reached out and raked his sharp claws across the surface of Ya Li's battle armor, creating an earsplitting metallic screech. A faint scratch appeared on Ya Li's armor.
Noticing the scratch, Ya Li's eyebrows furrowed slightly as she glanced at Wang Si's sharp claws, her expression turning grave.
"Dean Ya Li's four-character battle armor is made with only three types of heavenly-forged metals. The quality isn't that high," Wang Si commented.
Sheathing his hammer, Wang Si casually sat down next to Ya Li and subconsciously reached out to pull her towards him by the waist.
However, Ya Li, prepared for such advances, dodged his attempt without hesitation.
"Mind your manners," she said, frowning at Wang Si, who had dared to make a move on her during their first meeting.
Looking somewhat aggrieved, Wang Si reluctantly withdrew his hand and nodded.
"Dean Ya Li has always been reluctant to say why she sought me out. Am I not allowed to take the initiative?" he asked, a mischievous smile playing on his lips.
Ya Li couldn't help but feel a little embarrassed by his shameless words. She had anticipated that speaking with this notorious womanizer would be troublesome, but she hadn't expected it to be this challenging.
Just as Ya Li was about to state the purpose of her visit, she saw Wang Si raise his hand.
"Don't knock her out. I have no interest in unresponsive dead fish," he said.
Before Ya Li could react, a powerful mental force surged into her sea of consciousness. In an instant, her mind plunged into darkness, and she lost control of her body.
Although she could no longer control her body, she could still sense its presence.
"I told you not to knock her out," Ya Li heard a voice say. She felt herself being supported by a sturdy chest.
Then, she felt a pinch, and the voice seemed to be speaking to someone else.
"She's not unconscious. She's just temporarily lost control of her body. With sufficient stimulation, she'll be able to regain control soon.
Right now, her consciousness is very clear, and she can perceive your every move, sharper than ever before."
Ya Li furrowed her brows at the unfamiliar female voice. Whoever this person was, they seemed to be the reason for her current predicament.
"Tsk, I was trying to be a good person, but you guys are forcing me to take advantage of someone in this vulnerable state.
Oh right, where's the Qingtian Spear? It seems to contain a fragment of Yun Ming's soul."
"Wait, let me find it."
Ya Li then felt a delicate hand groping all over her body. Strangely, this hand seemed to arouse her interest more than Wang Si's burning touch.
Finally, the hand reached her heart.
Ya Li's heart lurched, and she felt a tugging force. She began to struggle, knowing that she couldn't let them take away the Qingtian Spear that Yun Ming had given her...
