Chapter 219: Earthquake and Landslide
Chapter 219: Earthquake and Landslide
Events unfolded like a whirlwind, sweeping through and bringing about drastic changes in an instant.
Lindsey had a feeling, as if he had set the first domino in motion.
Entering the underground world and encountering the Lizardmen, being led by the Blind Ones to Salt Creek, both sides sensed the impending conflict and initiated war.
Changes followed one after another.
The fragile balance between the Blind Ones and the Lizardmen was broken, and a new war began.
Boom—
Soon, the ground beneath Lindsey's feet began to crack and collapse.
The Elder of the Blind Ones, with their unique ability to manipulate earth and stone, leaped into the fray, facing the raging gales head-on.
The pitch-black world was engulfed by the deafening clash and the surging movement of objects.
Wave after wave of impact, like an endless tsunami, swept through, making it difficult for ordinary people to even stand firm!
"..."
"Who should I approach for cooperation matters?"
Lindsey was speechless, standing on Salt Creek.
He spread his legs, slightly bending his knees, and used his hands to maintain balance.
Despite the constant tremors and shaking, he remained steady on Salt Creek, like a surfer riding a wave.
Lindsey scanned his surroundings.
Salt Creek was cracking, and the Blind Ones who lived there wailed in despair.
Some, relying on their acute hearing and physical strength, managed to escape the vicinity, but most of the Blind Ones perished in the aftermath of the battle between the two sides.
As for the battle between the two Tier Six Powerhouses...
"Unless one side can deliver a decisive blow, it's hard to determine the outcome."
Lindsey made his judgment immediately.
The Elder of the Blind Ones was stronger than the Lizard Dragon Chief, and with their ability to control thick layers of earth and stone, they could withstand the Chief's gales.
But this was just the surface.
Lindsey had just witnessed the Elder's injuries firsthand.
It was the counterbalance inflicted by the Dragon Beast, leaving the Elder in a poor state, one could even say worn out.
"The Lizardmen will undoubtedly emerge victorious in this endurance battle!"
And if the Elder of the Blind Ones were to be defeated...
Lindsey thought about why he was here, and his head suddenly felt like it had grown a size larger.
"These Lizardmen might release me due to their victory, right?"
Even Lindsey found this possibility laughable.
He shook his head and began to jump down from Salt Creek, his figure descending rapidly towards the ground.
He then unfolded the map.
With a quick glance, Lindsey located a tunnel far from the battle scene.
With his abilities, escaping the perilous underground caves wouldn't be an issue.
He hurriedly took a few steps but soon slowed down.
This pause wasn't due to the intense tremors making it impossible to move forward; instead, Lindsey had something crucial to confirm.
"I haven't asked about the location of Crystal Valley yet!"
The Crystal Valley mentioned by the Elder of the Blind Ones might hold the truth behind the sudden power surge of the Dragon Beast, providing an opportunity to better understand, and possibly defeat, the enemy.
Lindsey, who came with the goal of slaying the Dragon Beast, had no reason to pass up this chance.
Jumping out of Salt Creek, Lindsey's gaze swiftly scanned the map, and he quickly identified a green-marked Friendly Target.
Without hesitation, Lindsey rushed over.
He questioned the panicked Blind One:
"Your Elder just tasked me with investigating Crystal Valley. Do you know where it is?"
The Blind One shook his head anxiously:
"Crystal Valley? You'll die if you go there!"
Lindsey emphasized his words:
"That's why your Elder entrusted me with this task!"
"Tell me the location of Crystal Valley, and then run! This place is too dangerous!"
As it turned out, Lindsey's decision to question the green-marked target was an incredibly wise choice.
The Blind One replied without hesitation, "It's in the deeper underground to the north, a place I've never ventured to!"
Having obtained the information he sought, Lindsey released the Blind One, who immediately turned and fled as he had been instructed.
Lindsey, now aware of the target's location, naturally...
Boom!
At that moment, a loud sound reverberated from above once more.
This sound was different from the previous clash between the gales and the rocks; it was the direct collision of physical objects.
Lindsey looked up.
Although the cave was dimly lit, the movement of the massive shadow gave him a clue.
From the position of the Salt Creek, the rocks and soil condensed into a spiral spearhead, piercing upwards into the top of the cave.
The earth shook with an earth-shattering boom.
Countless rocks and soil clumps rained down from above, shattering into countless ashes, completely blocking the vision of all living beings.
"Is this an attack from the Blind One Elder?"
Lindsey quickly considered other possibilities.
"The Blind Ones have acute hearing, but the Lizardmen rely on their eyes to discern things. The environment undoubtedly favors the Blind Ones."
This attack might be the Blind One Elder's assault on the Lizardmen leader.
But there was another possibility.
He had already admitted defeat in his heart, so this attack was not just a last-ditch resistance.
It was also a move to create an escape opportunity for the other Blind Ones!
"..."
Just a moment ago, a Tier Six powerhouse had been planning to raid the Dragon Beast alongside him.
In the blink of an eye, the situation had taken a drastic turn.
Lindsey couldn't help but feel a surge of emotions.
But during his time hiding in the outskirts, he had learned an important lesson—in critical moments, one must take action!
Lindsey turned and rushed towards the north.
He had a general idea of the direction of Crystal Valley, but he didn't know the exact distance or depth.
He had to use his map to explore while searching for a suitable path forward.
Crack—crack, crack, crack!
At that moment, there was new movement from the top of the cave.
As the Blind One Elder continued to manipulate the earth, initiating collisions.
A massive rock buried deep within the earth, finally unable to bear the weight, cracked open from the center.
This was followed by a severe collapse.
The giant rock split in half and fell, leaving a huge hole in the top of the entire cave.
It connected to other caves and numerous tunnels above.
Suddenly, several Lizardmen fell from within, oblivious and confused.
"Roar—"
A fierce roar echoed from above.
Immediately after, a powerful airflow, like a hammer, pressed downward, causing the entire dark underground space to sink.
This was the Lizardmen leader's counterattack!
Lindsey quickly prepared the Molten Flame Emblem and the Mountain Range Emblem, both Tier Six powerhouses, in his hands.
When these two fought, it was a literal earthquake and landslide. One manipulated rocks and soil, while the other controlled scorching airflow.
As Lindsey rushed forward, he was prepared for both possibilities.
"Hmm?"
At that moment, Lindsey paused, looking up at the pitch-black, massive cave above.
It wasn't the intensifying battle that made him hesitant.
But in Lindsey's perception, something unexpected happened.
The bats he had summoned on the surface earlier were now flying out of the cracked hole in the cave's ceiling!
