Chapter 219: Chaos
Chapter 219: Chaos
Very few Wizards stayed in this encampment area.
There were only a few tents scattered around, but this didn't mean it was a quiet place.
The Irish team's victory had the pixies flying around the forest, causing a ruckus. One pixie, laughing loudly, was gliding low and tossing handfuls of gold coins from its pocket.
Sherlock stood in front of a thick poplar tree, his face expressionless, completely at odds with the festive atmosphere around him.
But no one found this strange. Tonight was a lucky night for the Irish team's fans and a dark one for the Bulgarian fans.
Sherlock's current demeanor was being taken as that of a disgruntled Bulgarian fan.
The celebration outside continued late into the night. When the jubilant Irish team fans finally began to quiet down and enter their tents to rest, Barty Jr.'s tent remained completely still.
Sherlock could sense that only two people were inside the tent—Barty Jr. and Winky.
Barty Jr. seemed to be under some kind of spell. Since returning from the match, he had been sitting dully in the tent, seemingly indifferent to everything.
Winky, on the other hand, sat restlessly beside him, muttering softly, "Winky is a good elf", "Winky must obey her master", "Winky must keep the young master safe."
From these words, Sherlock confirmed once again that Barty Crouch Sr. was fully aware of Barty Jr.'s survival.
And there was a strong possibility that Barty Jr.'s escape from Azkaban was due to his father's efforts.
After all, before becoming the Head of the International Magical Cooperation Office, he had been the Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, with significant control over Azkaban's management.
As the night deepened, Sherlock began to doubt his suspicions. Perhaps Barty Jr. had simply come to watch the Quidditch final without any ulterior motives. He was just about to take action when a brilliant green light suddenly exploded across the entire Wizard encampment!
The camp, which had just quieted down, erupted into chaos once more. In the sky not far away, four figures suddenly rose.
Piercing screams erupted as the four figures ascended.
Sherlock squinted and pulled out the Omnioculars he had bought for the match, focusing on the four figures in the sky.
They were the Muggle Robert family, who had been guarding the entrance to the camp.
The father, mother, and two children were all under magical control, floating in the sky. The youngest child had already fainted, spinning like a top, while the terrified screams came from the parents and the older sister.
A spell capable of controlling and levitating four people like this was definitely not something a normal Wizard could cast.
Based on the magical strength displayed, at least five Wizards were involved in the spell, and the number was still increasing.
The chaos quickly spread, and the sound of frantic footsteps filled the air. Wizards who had just begun to rest were jolted awake, fear driving them to flee in all directions.
Harry and the Weasley family were in the center of the disturbance.
They could clearly see a dozen or so Wizards in black robes and grotesque iron masks, laughing maniacally. Their wands were pointed at the four levitated Muggles, and they were moving forward steadily.
As they moved forward, more Wizards wearing Iron Masks continuously joined their ranks.
In addition to torturing Muggles, some of them casually set fire to the tents around them. One, two, three—soon the flames had spread into a large conflagration.
Mr. Weasley was urgently instructing Bill to take the children and flee as quickly as possible. He needed to rendezvous with the others from the Ministry of Magic to put an end to this chaos.
Harry and his two friends were initially with Bill, but they didn't run far before the crowd scattered. It was only then that Harry realized his wand had somehow been lost.
Sherlock, on the other hand, noticed the commotion the moment it began. He quickly realized that something was amiss in Barty Jr.'s tent.
The house-elf, Winky, seemed terrified, jumping to her feet in fear. Meanwhile, Barty Jr., who had been dazed, suddenly became sharply focused.
His eyes gleamed with a fierce light.
Sherlock, perceiving the change through his Control Magic, saw everything clearly.
On Barty Jr.'s left arm, a dark green tattoo of a snake emerging from the mouth of a skull suddenly glowed!
Sherlock was no stranger to this tattoo.
The Dark Mark!
Only the most core Death Eaters were given this mark by Voldemort!
In recent years, this tattoo had appeared on every notorious dark wizard in the Wizarding World, a symbol of impending terror for those living peaceful lives.
But this magic mark, which sent chills down one's spine with just a glance, was more than just a symbol of identity.
It was also a crucial link between the person it represented and his followers.
The Dark Mark glowing on Barty Jr.'s left arm meant that Voldemort was summoning him!
Seeing the Dark Mark light up and considering the sudden chaos in the camp, Sherlock instantly understood what was happening.
He paused his hand, which had been reaching into his robe sleeve to draw his wand, and continued to observe Barty Jr.'s actions.
Barty Jr. was now struggling with Winky. The terrified house-elf darted around like a headless chicken, trying to take him away.
Barty Jr. clearly had no intention of leaving with her. He was still wearing the Invisibility Cloak and was struggling to escape from Winky's grasp.
However, he didn't have a wand. Not all wizards were anomalies like Sherlock, and without a wand, they couldn't produce enough magic to subdue a creature as powerful as a house-elf.
Winky dragged Barty Jr. out of the tent with force.
Sherlock silently cast a Disillusionment Charm on himself and followed the master and servant.
"There are bad wizards everywhere!" Winky screamed as she tried to run forward, "People are up high—way up high! Winky must escape!"
She dragged Barty Jr. into the nearby bushes, just as they passed by Harry and his two friends, who had been separated from the main group.
