Chapter 216: Arrival at the Tower's Summit
As each construct was destroyed, the surrounding Weave of Magic plunged into utter chaos. The Eighth-Level Spell Order, thrown into disarray, unleashed torrents of unstable energy that battered the environment. Phantom limbs of dragons thrashed through the void; grotesque dragon heads burst from the walls; and rivers of glistening Dragon Blood welled up from the ground, turning the area into a maelstrom of destruction.
Yet, despite the mayhem, with a series of mournful, echoing Dragon Roars, they finally managed to work together and dismantle the Rune Array.
The chains binding the White Dragon vanished in an instant.
For the first time in a century, the White Dragon’s body was utterly free.
Tiniya shook her wings, trembling with the long-lost sensation of freedom, and let out a deep, soul-shaking cry of pure exhilaration.
“Uuuu—aaarrrrgh!”
Then, the liberated White Dragon lowered her head toward Kai Xiusu.
As one of the Five Colored Evil Dragons, the White Dragon had no programmed sense of gratitude—only a deep respect, and submission, toward any being of immense power.
Yet even as she was freed, Kai Xiusu felt no relief. From the moment he stepped onto the uppermost level, he had sensed it—a crushing SpellStrength suppressing Spatial Constriction. A Dimensional Lock. A seal that nullified all space-time teleportation spells.
But Red Dragon didn’t flee. No. He stayed. Because now—while his enemy remained unaware—was the perfect moment to strike without warning. To eliminate the so-called “Dragon-Frenzied Black Wizard” once and for all.
Otherwise, if a high-level mage were allowed to lurk in the shadows, gathering intelligence and preparing meticulously, he would become an even greater threat.
Sure enough, the floating 【Heaven's Judgment Dragon Eye】 flickered once more, revealing the scene.
There, at the very top, stood a twisted, stitched monstrosity—its face unmistakably Wagner’s, yet horribly distorted.
“Prepare,” Kai Xiusu said calmly.
“Wagner’s coming.”
Lanpu and Tiniya instantly tensed.
And indeed, the Dimensional Lock trembled—just slightly.
First, a limb of a White Dragon emerged from thin air. Then, a monstrous head—unknown, unnatural—snaked out, still clinging to the limb. Next, a human torso, severed and reassembled, followed.
Finally, the abomination tore open the fabric of space, revealing itself fully.
It stood nearly five meters tall, a grotesque fusion of countless creatures, stitched together with grotesque precision. The primary material was unmistakably White Dragon flesh—but everything was wrong. The wings sprouted from its legs. Human hands were grafted onto its exposed skin like grotesque ornaments. And from where its chest should be, a monstrous dragon’s head jutted out, jaws agape, eyes burning with madness.
This twisted, unnatural form radiated a terror beyond natural order.
From the creature’s crown, Wagner’s upper body emerged—still bearing his familiar face. But his lower half was fused with the abomination’s, the junction oozing fresh, bloody meat. His entire body was now covered in pale, glistening white scales.
“Grrrrrr…”
Tiniya flinched violently, stepping back instinctively behind Kai Xiusu, her voice trembling as she let out low, fearful growls.
Fear of Wagner—greater even than her hatred—pulsed through her. After a century of torment, she had never before felt such a deadly presence emanating from a human.
“My ‘Sleeping Beauty’… You’ve broken free?” Wagner’s gaze flickered with surprise—then twisted into a cruel smile. “But it doesn’t matter. Heh. You cannot escape your fate. You will be devoured.”
He turned his head toward Kai Xiusu, his lips curling into an eerie grin.
“And you… Kai Xiusu Claudew Noirikexius.”
“We finally meet face to face.”
“You’re quite rude, barging into my domain like this. Destroying my original flesh body. Stealing my experimental subject.”
“But… your body will be the perfect compensation.”
“I’ll savor it. Let’s see… what the Favorite of Tiamat truly tastes like. Hahahaha!”
Wagner’s laughter echoed through the tower—deafening, soul-chilling, capable of driving ordinary humans to madness. A single scream could shatter a man’s mind.
Kai Xiusu said nothing.
Instead, he activated Metamagic with lightning speed, casting a series of protective spells in rapid succession.
【Immortal Scales】
【Protection from Energy Damage】
【Energy Scales】
Shields erupted around him like a storm of light. Streams of stellar-energy fragments burst from his body, merging with the shimmering effect of 【Gilded Scales】. His defense soared to terrifying levels—so dense that even the most powerful attacks could not penetrate his layered barriers, let alone touch the naturally resilient scales beneath.
Meanwhile, 【Graceful as a Dragon】 reached its peak, granting Kai Xiusu a staggering 30-point boost to speed—like a Gundam in motion.
“ROOOOAAARRR!”
With a thunderous roar, Red Dragon folded his wings and launched forward—faster than the eye could track. A crimson blur tore through the air, triggering sonic booms that cracked the tower’s stone walls. Lightning blazed around him like a halo.
Seizing the opening, he charged like an arrow straight into the monster’s torso, unleashing a torrent of scorching flames from his maw.
The Suture Monster’s surface flared with a black energy barrier—but it shattered instantly under the combined force of lightning and fire.
Dozens of White Dragon limbs—claws, wings, tails—lashed out in a frenzy. Each piece pulsed with eerie dark energy, capable of consuming Dragon Blood and converting it into fuel, while simultaneously eroding the dragon’s mind.
But Kai Xiusu, enhanced by 【Aerial Maneuverability】, twisted midair with impossible grace, leaving only a flickering afterimage behind. The limbs missed entirely.
Red Dragon hovered above the monster, then unleashed a devastating column of flame—his most powerful breath.
【Extreme Flame Breath】
Yet Wagner, a mage who had studied dragons for a century, was far from unprepared.
With a grotesque, writhing motion, he spun his twisted limbs through the air, summoning a visible, pulsing ring of arcane energy that wrapped around his body.
【Breathless Aura】
The spell’s power allowed his form to twist and shift unnaturally—just enough to dodge the inferno. Only a trail of charred marks remained on his skin.
A spell specifically designed against dragons—granting the ability to reflexively evade breath attacks.
But the battle was far from over.
Wagner’s remaining human torso gently stroked the dragon head before him. His entire body began to shimmer with fine, arcane radiance.
【Greater Dragon-Stealth】
This was the famed Seventh Circle Spell—Dragon-Stealth, capable of concealing a target from dragon perception.
But Wagner had pushed further. He had perfected a version that nullified all of a dragon’s senses—sight, smell, even instinct.
It was this mastery that had allowed him to hunt White Dragons across the frozen wastes, turning the genuine Five-Colored Dragons into his experimental subjects… and raw material.
Kai Xiusu felt the air before him go utterly empty.
Wagner was gone.
Red Dragon’s keen senses—sight, smell, even instinct—could not detect him. Nothing.
The only way to track him was through the 【Heaven's Judgment Dragon Eye】—which now flickered, revealing the exact location of the next attack.
