Chapter 214: Seizing the Body
Inside the Snow Hut Illusion, the girl continued tidying the room.
She carefully picked up the shards of a broken teacup, muttering under her breath:
"These guests are so rude—shatter a cup and just run off, leaving me with such a mess."
The fire in the hearth still burned warm.
Yet this was merely an illusion’s embellishment.
In reality, the scene was horrific—writhing monsters extended grotesque limbs, scavenging broken bone fragments from the floor, piling them into a corner.
Valina sat on a wooden chair, idly flipping through a yellowed book.
Leaning her chin in her palm, she whispered to herself:
"How much longer must I stay here? Father promised me he’d bring me out."
She no longer remembered how long she’d been trapped—so long that time had blurred beyond reckoning.
In her fading memories, she recalled being rescued from the Hidden Chamber and brought to this wooden hut.
Every day, the same monotonous routine—years repeating like endless loops.
The book claimed that people aged slowly over time.
But Valina had discovered something strange: her appearance had remained unchanged—forever frozen at eighteen.
Not a single wrinkle, not a single sign of time’s passage.
And yet, her memories felt… incomplete.
She’d long suspected something was missing, but dared not dwell on it.
Like an invisible chain shackled her thoughts, forbidding her from probing too deeply.
Some things…
If you can’t understand them, best not to try.
So she told herself:
Just keep serving the passing guests, listen to their stories.
That’s how she’d live a life beyond these walls—by proxy.
Suddenly, a raspy, unmistakably familiar voice cut through her thoughts.
"Valina, my precious little girl… come see who’s returned."
Valina froze. Her hands stilled mid-motion.
She turned, eyes wide with disbelief.
"Ah… Father!"
"You really came back!"
She leapt from the chair and rushed into the man’s arms, her large, glistening eyes brimming with tears.
Wagner gently stroked her hair, leaning down to whisper:
"Yes, Father’s finished dealing with matters outside. I came straight back to you."
She clung to him as if afraid he’d vanish again.
Her voice trembled.
"Father… you lied. You haven’t come back in so long. You told me to treat the guests well… but they… they all mocked me. They hurt me. They called me names. They wouldn’t play with me."
She looked up, choked with sobs:
"They said I’m a Monster."
"Father… am I really a Monster?"
Wagner’s face remained serene, smiling gently.
"No, you’re not a Monster. You’re the most precious treasure I hold in my hands—more noble than any of them."
"But… but…"
He wiped a tear from her cheek.
"Valina, remember this: you are always my daughter."
"Let’s forget sad things now. Do you know why I’ve come back?"
Valina blinked, her gaze lost and uncertain.
Wagner took her slender hand, bent down, and whispered into her ear:
"I’m here to keep my promise. I’m taking you to the outside world, my dear. A father never breaks his word."
Her heart leapt.
She had never imagined the cold, distant man—the one who abandoned her here for who knew how long—would say such a thing.
A radiant smile spread across her face.
She wiped the last traces of tears, nodded firmly.
"Yes."
He took her hand and led her toward the illusion’s door—pushing it aside.
A blinding flash of light pierced Valina’s mind.
She instinctively squeezed her eyes shut.
"Wow… is this the outside world?"
"It’s… not quite what I imagined."
There was no new world.
Only the same dark, endless Demon Tower—cold metal prison walls stretching into shadow.
Twisted monsters, stitched together from mismatched limbs, writhed in agony.
Their flesh pulsed, bloated with movement, scales sparse and uneven, skin swelling in unnatural bulges—as if something inside was trying to burst free.
At last, a human form—perfectly resembling Wagner—emerged from the grotesque stitched abomination.
His skin was smooth, pale, like that of a newborn.
Yet faint traces of scales remained beneath the surface.
His waist still connected to the stitched body by a glistening strand of bloody flesh—replacing the former faceless girl, now fused into the monstrous whole.
He was the final master of this creature’s chaotic mind.
But deep within that pulsing mass of blood and meat, a faint, desperate voice whispered:
"Father… you lied."
"You did it again…"
The voice grew weaker, fading into silence—swallowed by the thick, wet sounds of flesh grinding against flesh.
"Wagner," Valina’s name echoed in the air.
A single tear slid down Wagner’s face.
Yet his eyes burned with ecstatic frenzy—his smile stretching so wide it seemed to split his face.
His body trembled violently, consumed by madness.
"I—I told you before, Father never fails. I did this for your own good!"
"I’ll take you with me—on the path of Evolution! Together, we’ll become greater than even the Dragon Gods!"
"Hahahaha! HAHHAHAHAHA!"
At the far end of the Tall Tower, the Red Dragon’s frilled ears twitched.
With the acute senses of a dragon, Wagner’s maniacal laughter reached his ears.
"Hmph. So it was the Snow Hut after all. Too late now."
"He’s taken Valina’s body."
The Snow Hut had no fixed location—connected only by an Alternate Dimension Gate.
Even Kai Xiusu couldn’t pinpoint it.
They could only wait for Wagner’s mistake.
Lanpu felt the Tower’s aura growing ever more unnerving.
His voice was grave.
"Master… should we follow?"
"No. If I’m not mistaken, he’s heading for the top of the Tall Tower."
The Heaven’s Judgment Dragon Eye had vanished after its last breath.
Kai Xiusu closed his eyes, drawing on the immense strength of the Arcane Surge.
He forged seven new spell slots—seventh-tier magic.
When he opened his eyes again, golden fire burned within them.
A second, invisible dragon’s eye appeared beside him, floating in midair.
[Heaven’s Judgment Dragon Eye]
He activated [Future Sight].
The deep, ancient eye pierced through time’s veil—revealing the future.
At the very summit of the Tall Tower, the twisted Suture Monster writhed, inching toward the trapped White Dragon.
The White Dragon recoiled in terror, roaring in distress, trembling from head to tail.
Its massive frame strained with all its might, but the unbreakable Magical Chains held firm—every effort futile, every movement impossible.
Kai Xiusu’s expression hardened.
"Wagner plans to devour the White Dragon. We must stop him."
