Chapter 214: Chongguang's Reincarnation?
Chapter 214: Chongguang’s Reincarnation?
“Tell me, this is Chongguang’s reincarnation?”
In the grand hall of the Qing Kingdom, King Qing’s face darkened as he stared at a child with a peachblossom complexion, no older than seven or eight.
“You dare deceive me?”
“Your Majesty.” The eunuch delivering the report hurriedly replied, “Though this child appears large, he was born only eight days ago. His divine nature is extraordinary—nothing ordinary about him.”
“This is eight days!?”
King Qing’s skepticism deepened. Hearing the eunuch’s words, he turned to Zhong Xin, who immediately understood.
In an instant, the scholar extended a finger, condensing Bureaucratic Qi into a razor-sharp arrowhead aimed at the child. But to everyone’s shock, the strike didn’t even scratch the infant’s skin.
“This is the Undying Camphor!”
Zhong Xin’s eyes narrowed. “When a tree’s roots and branches are severed, becoming deadwood, and it merges with stagnant water from ponds or swamps, the Undying Camphor is born. This must be a Restoration Lampfire lineage gift.”
“A life-preserving, indestructible divine art—top-tier protection.”
King Qing’s voice brightened. “So this is Chongguang? Just not yet awakened from prenatal amnesia, relying only on this innate ability?”
Zhong Xin hesitated, frowning. “Your Majesty, my mortal eyes see only an ordinary infant. The divine ability appears…randomly attached.”
King Qing shook his head. “Regardless of truth—kill him!”
At his command, eunuchs surged forward. Though the Undying Camphor was formidable, the child had no real power. Two balls of spiritual flame reduced him to ashes. After confirming the remains, King Qing exhaled—until another cry rang out:
“Report!”
A soldier burst in, kneeling. “Your Majesty, scouts across the land report—three more Chongguangs have appeared!”
King Qing’s voice cracked. “Three? Why not say the entire Holy Sect reincarnated here? How blessed my kingdom must be!”
Moments later, three infants were presented. Zhong Xin inspected them, shaking his head. “Same as before—each bears a Restoration Lampfire lineage ability.”
“Veiled Dragon Water, Axe-Resistant, Fierce Flame Crucible.” Zhong Xin listed them cautiously. “Your Majesty, my knowledge is limited. Perhaps consult others?”
King Qing had already summoned senior scholars. Their verdict? Identical. These were no reincarnations—just inexplicable divine gifts.
Then came another report: a fifth infant. To everyone’s horror, this one bore the Undying Camphor—the same “dead” child!
“This cannot be!” King Qing roared.
An elder minister stepped forward. “Your Majesty, these are decoys. None possess life-bound divine arts. They’re masking the true reincarnation.”
“Executioners!” King Qing bellowed. “Kill them all—now!”
Zhong Xin bowed. “As you command.”
But as another messenger burst in, King Qing snapped, “Yet another infant? Report it later!”
“No—Demonic Sect forces are advancing south!”
Outside Guillotine Dragon Pass, True Man Yinshan, Han Xiang, and warrior woman Yu Chan stood before an army of Refining Qi disciples from Jiangbei sects.
“These disciples are useless,” Han Xiang scoffed. “The Pass’s Array Art requires Foundation-Building True Men to breach. They’ll only die pointlessly.”
Yinshan smiled coldly. “Not entirely. Before battle, I gave them spirit pills laced with blood-qi catalysts. Their deaths will poison the spiritual vein, disrupting the Array Art.”
The ground trembled. As spiritual qi darkened, the Array Art faltered.
“There—useful now?” Yinshan asked.
Han Xiang fell silent.
“Yu Chan, Han Xiang—focus!” Yinshan ordered, launching a black mountain-shaped talisman skyward. With a thunderous crash, it smashed the Pass, shaking the land.
“Hold the line!” boomed a voice from the walls. Zhong Xin appeared in a flash of void energy, stabilizing the Array Art.
Their eyes locked—Zhong Xin and Yinshan, two titans, their gazes searing with hatred.
