Chapter 212: The Unknown, Blue-Dyed
Boom!!
A deafening explosion reverberated as the shockwave from the clash of fists sent mud and debris flying in all directions. The ground beneath their feet, unable to withstand the immense force, began to crack.
The Fourth Raikage, Ay, felt the power transmitted through his arm, his initially relaxed and nonchalant expression turning solemn.
Bang!!
Caught off guard, the Fourth Raikage was unable to block Mo Yue's punch and was sent hurtling backwards, forced back more than thirty meters by the sheer force.
"Such strength and speed. Could he be a hidden powerhouse from the Sand Village?" Ay furrowed his brows in thought.
Just then, the approaching Kumo shinobi witnessed the scene of the Fourth Raikage being knocked back by Mo Yue's punch.
Killer B's eyes widened, his mouth agape as he stared in disbelief. "Big brother actually lost in taijutsu?" He rubbed his eyes, feeling as if he had fallen under an illusion.
This was his older brother, the son of the Third Raikage, a master of the powerful Lightning Release Chakra Mode, and the future Fifth Raikage.
"Be careful, everyone! This guy has incredibly strong chakra!" Mothem, sensing Mo Yue's powerful chakra, spoke up since Mo Yue had not used her Transparent World to conceal herself.
"You guys go on ahead. I'll find you later," Mo Yue quickly instructed her students, including Obito.
Given their current strength, it would be too dangerous for them to fight on the same battlefield as her. She decided to split them into two groups. She would hold back the opponents that even a boosted Obito stood no chance against, while the rest would be left to her students to handle. If they couldn't defeat their opponents, she would unleash her full power and make a swift escape with them.
"Teacher, I want to fight alongside you," Obito said, knowing from the Fourth Raikage's initial display that their enemy was not to be taken lightly. He didn't want Mo Yue to face such a formidable foe alone.
"Yes, we can't back down now! We're in our blood-boiling youth!" Might Guy resolutely added, also wanting to fight with Mo Yue.
Although Kakashi remained silent, he quietly drew his White Light Chakra Sabre, ready for battle.
Mo Yue gently patted their heads and smiled. "I'm glad you have the courage, but this isn't about running away or retreating. It's about strategy."
"Our opponents are incredibly strong, and it will be difficult for me to protect you during the fight. I'll hold back most of them, but a small number might pursue you. That will also lessen the pressure on me."
"Listen carefully. Your only task is not to defeat the enemy or gather information, but to survive!" Mo Yue's expression turned serious.
As Mo Yue was giving instructions to her students, the Fourth Raikage stopped Berkely, who was about to charge forward with his sword drawn.
"This guy is too strong. You're no match for him. Let Bee and me handle this," the Fourth Raikage said arrogantly, brushing off the dust from his clothes.
Berkely obediently stopped, even though he was older than the Fourth Raikage. The Fourth Raikage's strength and status far surpassed his own.
"Don't worry about me," Mo Yue said, patting Obito's shoulder reassuringly and flashing a gentle smile. "I'm no weakling, even though the enemy is strong."
"Let's go. We'll only slow Teacher down if we stay here," Kakashi said calmly.
The enemy's speed was terrifying, and if they were caught and used as leverage against Mo Yue during the battle, it would put her in a difficult position.
Obito wasn't indecisive; he was just stubborn. He, too, quickly realized that he might become a burden to Mo Yue, and so he silently prayed for her as he, Kakashi, and Might Guy ran towards the forest.
By staying, they might become Mo Yue's weakness, but by leaving, they could attract some of the enemies and reduce the pressure on her.
"I need to get stronger, much stronger," Obito clenched his fists tightly, his eyes filled with determination. "I won't be a burden to Teacher Mo Yue like this again."
Mo Yue had ignored his reputation as a laggard and taken him on as her student, patiently teaching him. Because of his request, she had redesigned his training regimen, helping him achieve first place in the Chunin Exams and allowing him to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Kakashi for the first time.
In that moment, he yearned for strength. He berated himself for not utilizing his time more efficiently, for if he had, he might have been of greater help to Mu Yue.
Might Guy, usually so cheerful, wore a somber expression, his eyes glistening with unshed tears.
"If only I could open the eighth gate of the Eight Inner Gates, or reach the level of the Breathing Technique where I can unlock the Sage Mode... Then I could help Teacher Mu Yue defeat these enemies!" Might Guy lamented his own powerlessness.
The more he thought about his fond memories with Mu Yue, the more his heart ached.
He recalled the joyful smile she wore as she watched him devour his meals, the sincere praise she gave when he made progress with his Breathing Technique, and the words of trust she whispered that still rang in his ears. Each memory was like a sharp blade piercing his heart, stirring his emotions.
Bang!
Unable to contain his frustration, Might Guy lashed out and punched a nearby tree, his incredible strength causing it to splinter.
"Perhaps I really am jinxed, just as they say," Kakashi murmured, his gaze dimming.
The teacher who always offered guidance when her students were down, who prepared delicious breakfasts, and who taught them powerful ninja techniques without reservation—this mysterious, powerful, and always warmly smiling Mu Yue might be sacrificing herself.
Of the three, Kakashi was the most pessimistic. The fact that Mu Yue had instructed them to simply survive indicated that their opponents were exceptionally formidable.
...
"You, go after those guys and don't let them get away," the Fourth Raikage, Ay, instructed Berkeley as he watched Kakashi and the others disappear into the forest.
"Follow me," Berkeley ordered a jonin, signaling for him to join the pursuit.
The Fourth Raikage, eager for a rematch, stepped forward, his fists clenched. He wanted to test his mettle against Mu Yue once more, but he also intended to prevent her from dealing a fatal blow to Berkeley.
"Tell me your name," Ay demanded, his eyes narrowing. "With your strength, you shouldn't be a nobody."
"Bleach," Mu Yue replied nonchalantly, her expression unreadable.
Having used a transformation technique to conceal her identity, she certainly wasn't about to reveal her true name.
"Bleach?" Ay furrowed his brow, deep in thought. He couldn't recall ever hearing about a powerful ninja by that name.
"I underestimated you before, but that won't happen again," Ay said, his voice steady as he prepared to engage Mu Yue once more. He wasn't going to dwell on her name; he had more pressing matters to attend to.
