Chapter 211: Taking the Plunge
Chapter 211: Taking the Plunge
Lan Fozi and Wang Si spent the entire afternoon discussing the materials for the Word Battle Armor.
Wang Si's reaction was unclear to Lan Fozi, but she was just happy.
Finally, there was someone who wouldn't find her demands troublesome. Apart from discussing battle armor materials, Lan Fozi also chatted with Wang Si about his life before his "fall from grace."
Learning about Wang Si's stifled life in the Blacksmith Association left Lan Fozi speechless.
"Your warrior soul's devolution was probably due to the immense pressure you endured there, wasn't it?"
Wang Si merely scratched his head, his expression one of innocent bafflement, indicating that the work of a blacksmith was simply how it was.
What truly repulsed him was Mu Yuan using his life as leverage without his consent.
Aware of the recent pressures Wang Si had been under, Lan Fozi specially invited him to try scuba diving, hoping to help him relax and unwind.
Wang Si expressed his hesitation due to a psychological shadow hanging over him, but Lan Fozi just chuckled at this.
As a seasoned diver, Lan Fozi understood that first-time divers might feel anxious and worried, so before they actually entered the water, he took the time to brief Wang Si on some necessary precautions.
Especially for someone with a psychological shadow like him.
First, Lan Fozi carefully explained how to use the diving equipment.
He specially prepared a complete set of diving gear for Wang Si, including but not limited to a diving suit, mask, snorkel, and buoyancy compensator.
After procuring these items, he patiently demonstrated to Wang Si how to don them correctly.
During this process, Lan Fozi particularly reminded Wang Si to meticulously check the equipment to ensure each component was securely fastened and in perfect working order, as any malfunction could lead to dire consequences.
The mention of severe consequences was partly to frighten Wang Si a bit.
However, Wang Si seemed susceptible to Lan Fozi's intimidation, which greatly satisfied the latter's vanity!
Subsequently, Lan Fozi elaborated on the basic procedures and techniques of diving.
He first instructed Wang Si on breathing techniques during the dive, emphasizing the need for slow and steady breathing, avoiding any rapid or shallow breathing.
At the same time, Lan Fozi taught Wang Si how to adjust his buoyancy to move effortlessly up and down in the water. Additionally, he reminded Wang Si to remain calm during the dive and refrain from making any hasty or dangerous moves due to nervousness.
After Wang Si mastered the basic skills, Lan Fozi placed special emphasis on safety precautions.
Before entering the water, one must first ensure they were psychologically prepared, their mental and physical state was good, and they remained vigilant at all times.
Should any abnormalities occur, they must immediately ascend and seek help.
Simultaneously, Lan Fozi instructed Wang Si to adhere strictly to his guidance once underwater and not act independently to avoid any mishaps.
Furthermore, Lan Fozi emphasized the importance of preserving the underwater ecological environment.
Divers must exercise caution and refrain from touching plants and animals or disturbing their habitats.
Similarly, when ascending, one must be extra careful not to trample on coral reefs or other fragile marine life.
Finally, Lan Fozi reiterated that the first dive should be conducted under his constant guidance and that Wang Si should not act on his own.
Through this meticulous preparation, Lan Fozi hoped to relieve Wang Si of his worries and allow him to fully relax and appreciate the beauty and wonder of the underwater world.
He believed that as long as Wang Si studied diligently and adhered strictly to the safety rules, he would surely have a pleasant and memorable diving experience.
His overprotectiveness left Wang Si a little speechless. Wang Si even suspected that if he didn't interrupt, Lan Fozi could probably keep lecturing non-stop.
Could it be that evolving into a human form after tens of thousands of years had addled her brain? He was a Soul Master, not an ordinary person. Even if something went wrong, as long as no one was deliberately trying to harm him, he could easily escape by himself.
However, to satisfy this guy's vanity and to experience the feeling of being "cared for," Wang Si could only let Lan Fozi babble on.
…………
Wang Si anxiously stuffed his hands into his pockets, his eyes filled with trepidation as he gazed at the diving pool where he would soon enter the water.
It seemed like this was his first time trying scuba diving, and he approached this new activity with a mix of reverence and anticipation.
"Wang Si, are you ready?"
Lan Fozi asked with a hint of concern.
He understood the feelings of a beginner very well, so he was especially patient in explaining each step to Wang Si and definitely didn't mean to show off.
"Yes, I'm ready. But I'm still a bit worried. What if something unexpected happens?"
Wang Si asked anxiously.
Lan Fozi smiled and said,
"Don't worry, I'll be with you throughout the entire dive and will take care of you. First, we need to make sure that your diving equipment is properly worn and adjusted, so we can ensure your safety."
Lan Fozi carefully inspected Wang Si's equipment once again, including the oxygen tank, mask, and breathing regulator, making sure that everything was properly tuned. Wang Si nodded nervously, afraid that he might make a mistake.
"Alright, now we'll start with an acclimation exercise in the shallow area. Remember, the most important thing about diving is to maintain a steady breathing rhythm and stay calm. Once you're in the water, breathe slowly and don't hold your breath. If you feel any discomfort, immediately surface."
Lan Fozi patiently instructed, while Wang Si was fully geared up, feeling a bit burdened by the equipment.
Wang Si simply nodded seriously to indicate his understanding and then cautiously stepped into the water, sensing the change in water pressure. Lan Fozi stood by, observing carefully and ready to lend a helping hand.
"Now, try to regulate your breathing and slowly descend. Remember to stay calm and don't panic." Lan Fozi encouraged.
Wang Si took a deep breath and slowly descended. As the water pressure increased, he felt a discomfort in his eardrums but maintained his steady breathing. Lan Fozi kept a close eye on him, his arm outstretched in a protective gesture.
After a brief acclimation, the two were finally ready to venture into deeper waters. Lan Fozi reminded Wang Si of the important points once again, ensuring he could safely complete this diving trip.
"Relax and believe in yourself. I'll be by your side the entire time to ensure your safety. Let's enjoy the underwater scenery together!"
Lan Fozi encouraged.
Wang Si took a deep breath and took the first step. As the water pressure changed, he felt his anxiety melt away, replaced by an unprecedented sense of calm and awe.
It seemed that... scuba diving was quite effective in relieving stress...
