Chapter 210: The Eternal Protagonist
Chapter 210: The Eternal Protagonist
The physical enhancements from different worlds began to stack, and Luk felt his body strength skyrocket like a rocket.
The surge of magical power within him exploded from a level close to Fleurian to one comparable to Selia, and then, in a flash, reached an unimaginable height.
A flood of memories surged into his mind, knowledge filling the gaps in his brain, and his soul underwent one transformation after another. Luk felt as if he had been thoroughly refined in every aspect.
Chakra, Haki, Reiatsu, Qi, and Curse Power—all these complex energies merged perfectly with his internal magical power, forming a multifaceted energy.
As the Luk from the if-line had said, Luk would always help Luk. After sharing everything, he was no longer the same; the difference was on a fundamental, life-altering level.
Luk looked at Leneith, his expression normal, his tone natural, but the emotions brewing in his brown eyes gave the impression of calm before a storm.
"Should I call you Mother or Goddess?"
Perhaps because of his long life and sharp mind, even though he had just absorbed a vast amount of memories, he maintained a strong sense of self, though his humanity had become more vibrant.
"You don't particularly like either of those titles, so just call me Leneith."
Leneith smiled slightly. "First, I need to clarify something. I am a goddess, but the Goddess is not me. I am merely a small part of Her, tasked with observing this world through Her eyes."
In other words, a manifestation.
Luk stared intently at Leneith. He had just thoroughly examined the elf before him, and she was indeed a normal elf, except for her perfectly concealed aura.
Leneith wore a mysterious, faint smile as she placed her hand gently on her chest, her tone calm.
"The Goddess is the mother of all, and thus, your mother as well. However, based on your current worldview, to ensure our conversation proceeds smoothly, you don't need to consider me or the Goddess as your mother. There is no blood relation between us in the human sense."
"What do you mean, I wasn't born from you?"
"Not in the human reproductive sense. Your elven body was created by the true Goddess herself."
Leneith spread her palms, and a clump of earth rose from the ground to her hand. It quickly took shape, forming internal organs, bones, organs, flesh, and skin, resulting in a delicate clay bird in her hand.
"I can only do this much."
She gently touched the bird, and its eyes were carved out. The clay bird came to life, becoming a real, flesh-and-blood creature. It pecked at Leneith's fingers and flew away.
"No one in this world is worthy or capable of bearing a child with the Goddess."
Watching the bird fly away, Leneith spoke calmly.
Luk, receiving the information from his golden finger, fell silent. The gap between a god and a human was greater than the gap between a human and an ant, to the point where it wasn't even a matter of reproductive isolation.
It wasn't impossible to use some means to conceive a child, but the result would either be a creation with only a fraction of the god's power or a manifestation containing the god's will. A true god's child was not something that could be easily born.
Leneith's smile deepened, and she seemed to be somewhat intoxicated by the sight of Luk. "You've become even more captivating, but even your previous form was quite charming."
"This body is perfect, isn't it? She retained your eye and hair color to highlight your unique identity."
Luk's face turned pale at the implication. "What identity is that?"
"That's why I said, you don't need to consider the Goddess as your mother."
Leneith extended her hand toward him. "You are the mate She has chosen."
Hearing this from someone who had once used the guise of his mother, Luk felt a wave of nausea and didn't hide his disgust.
"Because I will be a god in the future? Does the Goddess think only a god is worthy of Her?"
Leneith didn't get angry at this accusation; instead, she shook her head with a smile.
"No, whether you are a god or not, the Goddess had already chosen you long ago."
She looked up, her gaze piercing through the thick layers of earth to a point in the sky.
"The Goddess has no concept of lifespan. She has lived for countless ages."
"Throughout those endless ages, She has seen everything. She has witnessed the most heart-wrenching beauty and the most despicable ugliness, the rise of the fallen and the fall of the revered."
"She has destroyed worlds and created worlds. All of creation holds no secrets from Her. She is all-knowing and all-powerful."
”
“Boredom, nothing but boredom. Living for Him is like making the smartest sage solve the most foolish problems, over and over again, without end.”
Seeming to worry that Luk didn’t fully understand, she smiled slightly.
“Haven’t you seen the Suzumiya Haruhi series with the endless August? Imagine being strapped to an immovable chair, repeating the same thing over and over.”
At first, it’s a surprise, but the surprise fades, and it slowly becomes boring. Then you try to find something interesting in it, but it becomes utterly dull, and the image keeps repeating in front of you.
Ten times, a hundred times, a thousand times, ten thousand times…
You memorize all the lines, engrave every scene in your mind, and can describe every character’s nuances with the utmost precision, but it still keeps repeating.
In the end, even the boredom becomes too much to bear.
Lanis’s eyes showed deep fatigue and disgust, as if she had inherited terrible memories from the goddess.
She approached Luk, wanting to embrace him, but was stopped by a barrier that had appeared at some point, so she obediently halted.
“Your appearance is an unparalleled surprise for the goddess. This isn’t just about the strange and charming world in your memories.”
“The most important thing is that She can’t see your future beyond a certain point.”
Lanis whispered, her eyes filled with undisguised surprise, “That part of the future is a blank, unpredictable, and no matter how She observes, She can’t see its shape. For a goddess who can see the future all the way to the end, this is an unimaginable joy.”
“The world finally has something She doesn’t understand.”
“Nothing but surprise, the goddess has already chosen you. It’s not about your nature, your power, or your identity. She loves you deeply.”
“Disgusting.”
Luk summed up his feelings, attitude, and deep disdain in two words.
Xula Hart once told the Demon King that fleeting emotional fluctuations would fade over time, and apathy was the norm for gods.
He realized this statement referred to the goddess, not himself.
The goddess’s feelings for him were more like a child seeing a new and fascinating toy, filled with desire and possessiveness.
“You feel this way because you’re too young. When you’ve lived through endless ages, tasted all joys and sorrows, you’ll eventually become indifferent to everything.”
Lanis looked at Luk with a tender gaze, “Her plan is for you to experience everything, and in the end, reach the same mindset as Her, becoming the perfect and most compatible partner. But that would take too long…”
“So Xula Hart gave me Future Sight, a shortcut to achieve this goal quickly.”
Luk spoke through his disgust.
“Yes, She couldn’t wait. So She arranged for Xula Hart to give you Future Sight. If you don’t seek the truth and get lost in the god-like perspective of Future Sight, you’ll align with Her much faster.”
Lanis shook her head, “Actually, I don’t agree with Her. Although I love you too, the unknown is a threat. I’ve tried to resist Her control, to go against my own will, and it’s not easy.”
Luk finally understood Lanis’s strange behavior, her conflicting desire to see him die and yet not let him go.
“Unfortunately, the goddess won’t allow your death. She can tolerate some of my actions, enjoying the scenes of her husband struggling with death at different times, but She will never agree to you being destroyed.”
Hearing this, Luk repeated, “Disgusting.”
Losing the desire to continue the conversation, Luk summoned a familiar yet strange power. A thin, translucent blade appeared in his hand, its blade pale and emitting a faint mist, beautiful like a work of art.
The Zanpakuto, Gui Xu!
This blade’s characteristic is destruction, bringing everything to its ultimate end!
After Ditto Luk joined and analyzed Shallow Strike, the Leks could now use this powerful Zanpakuto.
Since indiscriminate destruction was too inhumane, almost no Leks had used it, but against a creator goddess, Luk thought this blade would be quite effective.
Lanis’s smile faded, and her eyes filled with deep disappointment, “Are you really going to choose to be my enemy, to be the goddess’s enemy?”
“To be honest, I’m not a noble or virtuous person. Whether it’s setting humans and demons against each other, inciting wars between nations, or manipulating others’ fates, even arranging my own, I can barely tolerate it.
Luk pointed the blade of Guixu at Rennise. "I just want to know, why did you try to seduce Mahat?"
"The Goddess is your destined partner. Trela is just an ordinary woman; she doesn't deserve you."
Jealousy flashed in Rennise's eyes, a momentary disruption in her otherwise perfect aura. This was the same disturbance that Frieren had sensed earlier.
"I expected the Goddess to have some designs on me, an outsider, whether for power or something else, but I never imagined it would be like this."
A destructive aura emanated from the blade as Luk spoke coldly.
"The Goddess is a whore."
Rennise stood frozen. "What did you just say..."
"I said, the Goddess, is a, whore!"
Luk enunciated each word clearly and forcefully.
To be honest, the best strategy would be to endure temporarily, as the continuous stream of Luks would eventually elevate him to a higher position. But Luk couldn't bear it. He wanted to vent his anger right now.
With unimaginable speed, he appeared in front of Rennise, and the blade of Guixu pierced her body. The wound, eroded by the destructive aura, rapidly expanded before any blood could even spill.
Looking at the widening hole in her chest, Rennise's eyes filled with deep regret. She sighed and smiled at Luk.
"It's alright, I forgive you."
Her body disintegrated into ash under the erosion.
In the next moment, Luk looked up, and a bone-chilling aura awakened from the sky, even making him shudder.
He swung the blade of Guixu, slicing through the entire mountain. The mountain split in a straight line and slowly slid down, causing a massive tremor as it hit the ground.
Luk raised his head to the sky, where a blinding light tore through the night.
"It's alright, I forgive you."
A grand and gentle female voice echoed from the sky, carrying an indescribable sense of sanctity, resonating across the land.
Rennise was a part of the Goddess, insignificant though she was, and her destruction had successfully awakened the divine entity.
The sun rose against the natural order, clouds gathered, and the temperature plummeted from the scorching heat of the night to a bone-chilling cold. Snow fell across the world.
With the Goddess's arrival, the night turned to day, and the sweltering heat turned to bitter cold.
This was undoubtedly a miracle.
Luk's expression turned grim. Among all the worlds he had joined, only the Earth God from the Curse World might have such power, and no one else could achieve this.
This one move alone showed how formidable his enemy was!
"Then let's have a fight!"
Several beams of light illuminated, and multiple protective barriers enveloped Luk. He held the blade of Guixu, his presence commanding and powerful.
Before his eyes, a naked female form appeared, seemingly the embodiment of all beauty in the world. Her appearance and figure were perfect beyond human comprehension, a beauty that transcended understanding.
The Goddess radiated a soft white light, exuding a fatal allure combined with an aura of divine sanctity. She opened her arms to Luk, her face wearing a smile of infinite inclusiveness.
"My child, my lover, my partner, I will forgive all your violence. Just take my hand, and I will show you all the beauty of the world."
Luk remained silent for a moment, then spat at the divine, alluring form.
"Disgusting!"
The Goddess's smile didn't waver. "Your humanity seems to have awakened a lot. In the past, no matter how crude you were, you wouldn't have done something like this."
"You are insulting me, and you are calling me a whore in your heart. It's alright; as long as you take my hand, we will be partners, and I can become your whore."
"Unfortunately, you can't even match Trela's little finger."
This finally made the Goddess's smile fade slightly. She nodded.
"It's alright; I was mistaken before. What's important is your ability to be unpredictable, not your love."
In her hand, countless picture books appeared, and a few familiar titles caught Luk's eye.
The Rebellious Demon King, The Southern Hero's Chronicle, The Flawless Hero Simer.
The Goddess held the new The Burial of Frieren and tore it apart, then a new, blank picture book appeared.
"I'm tired of scripts that can be seen through at a glance. There's no need to choose anyone else as the protagonist for the next one."
"Luk, you, who cannot see the future, will be my eternal protagonist."
