Chapter 210: Lugia, Your Ultimate Move is Now Mine!
Chapter 210: Lugia, Your Ultimate Move is Now Mine!
"Aside from this, are there any other new moves?" Naoki asked.
New moves? Aerodactyl blinked its large eyes, paused for a moment, and then suddenly seemed to understand. A light bulb appeared over its head.
"Roar!"
Naoki raised an eyebrow slightly. "Then show me. Let's see what changes you have undergone!"
Aerodactyl immediately began its demonstration.
It flew to a more open grassy area, and Naoki, along with his group of Pokemon, hurried over to watch. They stood in a row, observing Aerodactyl's performance.
Aerodactyl focused intently, sensing the changes within its body.
After eating those steamed buns, it felt that it could perceive the flow of air currents more clearly and manipulate them at will, along with its flight-based energy.
As for the new changes…
Aerodactyl glanced at Naoki, then suddenly flapped its wings vigorously. A gale instantly swept through the area, transforming into powerful gusts that rushed forward.
Naoki was slightly taken aback by this sight.
"Is this… Hurricane? No, it doesn't quite seem like it."
Naoki had seen Aerodactyl use Hurricane before, and the hand movements for that move were quite different from what he was witnessing now.
"Compared to Hurricane, this seems more like a Flying-type move that creates wind." He mused, "However, the power and appearance seem enhanced. It's likely that the Storm Bun significantly boosted Aerodactyl's innate talent and control over Flying-type moves."
Naoki also recalled the Rain Dance move Aerodactyl had used earlier.
Although he couldn't see the exact boundaries, the area covered by the rain clouds must have included Drench Town.
A question popped into Naoki's mind.
Could a regular Pokemon's Rain Dance cover such a large area?
Obviously not.
As Naoki pondered, Aerodactyl began to showcase its second new move.
It gathered its small dragon wings as if charging up for something.
The next second, Naoki saw a whirlwind materialize in front of Aerodactyl.
The highly compressed hurricane started spinning rapidly and eventually transformed into an air vortex, which Aerodactyl launched forward.
Aerodactyl deliberately controlled the direction of the move.
The air vortex exploded in mid-air, turning into an even more powerful cyclone that lingered in the air for a long time.
One could imagine the scene of an opponent Pokemon being hit by this move.
Naoki: "…"
Seeing this, Naoki, for once, fell silent.
If he wasn't mistaken, the move Aerodactyl had just used resembled Lugia's signature move, Aeroblast.
Had Aerodactyl just copied that exclusive move?
"Roar?"
After the demonstration, Aerodactyl landed excitedly in front of Naoki, its face eager for praise.
"You did well," Naoki said, a bit unsure of how to react.
He wondered what Lugia would feel if it saw this.
Aerodactyl immediately cheered up and cried, "Roar!"
And that wasn't all! If it were in the ocean, it could also instantly whip up a storm and cause a tsunami, just like that enormous Aerodactyl it had seen before. And if there were thunder and lightning as well…
This power was something Aerodactyl had never dreamed of before!
In its excitement, Aerodactyl gave Naoki a big hug, grateful for all that he had done for it.
It hadn't forgotten that everything it had achieved was because of Naoki.
Even without those magical buns, it was already content.
Seeing this display, the two wild Aerodactyl and five Hakuryu nearby were green with envy.
They, too, understood the reason for Aerodactyl's remarkable growth.
And so, the very next second, the larger and smaller dragons surrounded Naoki, expressing their desire for similar treatment.
Seeing their eagerness, Aerodactyl proudly boasted, "Roar!"
See that? It has such a fantastic trainer!
The dragons: "…"
Naoki spread his hands helplessly. "That's all I have. That kind of dish is a once-in-a-lifetime delicacy. Unless you can bring me some of Lugia's feather powder."
A Hakuryu blinked its eyes, confused. "Hmm?"
What is Lugia?
"Lugia…" Naoki explained, "is the legendary Sea God. It sleeps at the bottom of a deep sea trench and possesses the incredible power to calm the raging waves of the ocean. It has always guarded the sea and the Pokemon that live there."
Suddenly, the unique-colored Hakuryu recalled something about Naoki's ranch.
Naoki had been worshipping a legendary Pokemon, and he didn't just stop there; he even referred to it as the God of Agriculture.
According to the information it had gathered from Butterfree, whenever Naoki prayed to the God of Agriculture, the crops on the ranch would mysteriously grow larger by the next morning.
This was the blessing that the God had bestowed upon Naoki.
Hakuryu's imagination ran wild, and it wondered, "What if we did the same as Naoki and offered our cherished Berries to the Sea God on Aerodactyl Island? Would it answer our prayers? We don't want pumpkins or corn; just a single insignificant feather, like the scales that occasionally fall from our bodies."
Hakuryu came up with a brilliant idea and immediately shared it with the other Hakuryu and Aerodactyl.
Upon hearing this suggestion, the Pokemon's eyes lit up, and their faces showed their enthusiasm to give it a try.
Without further delay, they prepared to leave the ranch and return to Aerodactyl Island. Before departing, they remembered to bring their Berry boxes with them.
Naoki was surprised to see them leaving so early. "Why are you guys leaving so soon? Won't you stay and play a bit longer?"
"Roar!"
The two wild Aerodactyl responded without turning back, and the five Hakuryu followed behind as they flew toward Aerodactyl Island.
Naoki was left speechless.
Not having eaten the translation peanuts, he couldn't understand what the Pokemon were saying, but from their demeanor, he guessed they must have had something important to attend to. Naoki didn't think too much into it and turned his attention to his own Aerodactyl, mentally summarizing the improvements brought about by the Storm Buns.
"Overall, it hasn't learned many new moves, but its control over its Flying-type energy and ability to manipulate airflow have definitely improved."
For example, Aerodactyl used to be able to influence the nearby weather with the mysterious aura it emitted, but it couldn't control airflow at will.
Now, it could.
"I wonder what expression Lugia would make if it saw Aerodactyl using a cyclone attack."
Would this count as a sort of indirect ntr? Unfortunately, he couldn't travel far yet, and even if he made it to Johto, he might not be able to meet Lugia.
After all, he had already used the Silver Feather to make the buns, so he couldn't summon it anymore.
However, Naoki remained undeterred. Life was full of possibilities, and he would surely have another chance in the future!
Life on the Dragon Island continued as usual.
It was a relaxed, carefree, and vibrant atmosphere.
After returning to the island from Naoki's ranch, the Hakuryu and Aerodactyl immediately retrieved their cherished Berries, which they had hidden in the bushes.
The Hakuryu, who hadn't grown any limbs yet, couldn't carry the Berries themselves, so they entrusted them to the two Aerodactyl.
Together, they made their way to the seaside.
The two Aerodactyl were filled with anticipation as they gazed at the calm, blue sea. Then, they offered the Berries into the ocean.
As the waves lapped against the shore, the Berries bobbed up and down in the water before eventually being pulled out to sea.
The Aerodactyl stood on the shore, watching the Berries disappear into the distance, hoping that the Sea God would receive their gift.
Meanwhile, the other Aerodactyl on the island noticed their actions and curiously gathered around, asking, "Roar?" ("What are you doing?")
The Aerodactyl happily replied, "Roar!" ("We're giving a gift to the Sea God. Naoki said that this way, the Sea God will hear our prayers and respond by giving us an even better gift!")
Hearing this, the unique-colored Hakuryu felt a twinge of guilt.
Naoki had never actually said those words; it was something Hakuryu had inferred from observing Naoki's daily activities.
Hakuryu racked its brains, trying to recall Naoki's exact words.
They had based all their actions on what they had seen Naoki do, so surely, there wouldn't be a problem?
