Chapter 21: Weekly Event, Rich Rewards from the Monster Siege
Chapter 21: Weekly Event, Rich Rewards from the Monster Siege
Time flew by, and it was already noon. Last night, Qin Muye had gritted his teeth and stayed awake, learning the Healing spell and teaching it to his Blood Magic creature.
Water Magic: Healing (Restores (Strength × 10) + 10 HP, Cost: 5 MP)
This spell could fully restore the life points of the Magic Essence Goblins, proving the old adage that a good general is hard to come by, as units led by a hero are on a completely different level compared to those without.
The Level 4 Blood Magic had not only upgraded from Basic Magic to Intermediate Magic but also saw a significant boost in attributes.
Hero: Blood Magic·Goblin LV4 (1230/4600)
Class: Bloodsoaked Warrior
Loyalty: 100 (Fixed)
HP: 100%
MP: 50
Attack: 27
Defense: 24
Strength: 20
Knowledge: 0
Even a 10% boost from these attributes would add 2 points of attack and defense to the Magic Essence Goblins, raising their base 7 points to a solid 9. Adding the 3 points of attack from the Bloodlust spell, the Magic Essence Goblins could reach a formidable 12 points of attack.
As for Qin Muye, he was still Level 3. Compared to Blood Magic, his attributes were practically useless. It was like a waste of a mother's effort, a complete waste.
So, he could only play a supporting role, hiding in the mage tower and staying out of the way.
His weak combat ability wasn't a problem; he just needed to stay hidden. As long as he could create more powerful heroes and units, he could eventually stack himself up with treasures, magic, and skills.
If he ever encountered enemies, Qin Muye's strategy was simple: run if he could, and if not, let his subordinates take care of them. If all else failed, he would overwhelm them with resources.
He was going for the rich man's approach. Although he was a bit poor now, he was confident he would rise.
He had little confidence in himself, but he had faith in his talents and class.
He hadn't considered channeling all his power into himself because he lacked the conditions, and training himself wouldn't bring the same benefits as training Blood Magic.
Despite being only one level apart, the difference in attributes and skills was enormous. It was no wonder Blood Magic was a rare class.
Qin Muye's Scholar class was just an ordinary profession, and it wasn't geared towards combat or management but rather support. The difference was normal, but for Qin Muye, it was a perfect fit and incredibly powerful.
Without the Scholar class, he would never have created Blood Magic or the Magic Essence Goblins. They were all the result of his research.
Hiding in the mage tower, Qin Muye watched through the window as Blood Magic and the 82 Magic Essence Goblins, 23 of which he had recruited, stood nearby. His gold reserves were depleted after the recruitment.
The Magic Essence Goblin workshop still had 577 goblins that hadn't been recruited, but Qin Muye simply didn't have enough gold.
At 12 o'clock, a group of Skeleton Warriors marched in formation from the distance.
Wave 1: Your Overall Strength: Elite Tier 1, This Wave: 100 Elite Tier 1 Skeleton Warriors
"Phew~ That scared me. Skeleton Warriors, no big deal."
Skeleton Warriors were the elite version of Skeleton Soldiers, the old friends from the Skeleton Training Ground. With only 100 of them, there was nothing to fear.
However, to be cautious, he used the Scouting Spell to check them out.
His skills haven't changed, but his attributes have doubled. His attack and defense went from 3 and 2 to 6 and 4, respectively, and his health points increased from 10 to 20.
Fortunately, his Blood Demon Sprite has a formidable 9 attack and 9 defense, along with the Bloodthirsty Spell. It can take down an enemy in just two hits.
With such overwhelming attributes and the Blood Magic at his disposal, it's not much of a challenge.
The Blood Demon Sprite immediately cast Bloodthirsty Spell on his own troops and Cursed Affliction on the enemy when the Skeleton Warriors appeared. His Blood Demon Sprites erupted in a crimson glow, their eyes turning blood red, while the Skeleton Warriors were enveloped in a faint, fiery red aura.
The two forces clashed, engaging in battle.
"Damn, this Blood Demon Sprite is really fierce," Qin Muye thought, amazed. The Blood Demon Sprite had entered a bloodthirsty frenzy, charging into the Skeleton Warriors like a tiger among sheep. With a single sweep of his standard longsword, he shattered the skulls of all the surrounding Skeleton Warriors, extinguishing their soul flames and rendering them motionless.
When it comes to fighting skeletal monsters, the Blood Demon Sprite has plenty of experience. Targeting the heads is always the most effective, ensuring a one-hit kill.
In just three minutes, all 100 Skeleton Warriors were obliterated.
[A Crushing Victory, You Gained 1650 Experience Points]
[You Looting the Area, You Gained]
[Common Resources: 1000 Units of Wood, 1000 Units of Ore, 1000 Units of Food]
[Special Resources: 100 Units of Mercury, 100 Units of Gems, 100 Units of Crystals, 100 Units of Sulfur]
[10,000 Gold Coins]
[1000 Points]
"What a windfall!" Qin Muye was pleasantly surprised. This was just a 1st Tier Elite monster. If it were a 1st Tier Champion or even a 2nd Tier, the rewards would be even more substantial.
From the previous hints, it's clear that the strength of the wild monsters is tied to the Lord's overall power. Since he is a 1st Tier Elite, the dispatched monsters are also 1st Tier Elites, and the rewards are directly related to the strength of the monsters.
"The Monster Siege Speed Rankings have already been updated?"
[1st Place: True Dragon Emperor, Average Speed: 0.1 seconds]
[2nd Place: Demon Subduer, Average Speed: 0.12 seconds]
[3rd Place: Fallen Noble, Average Speed: 0.13 seconds]
[...]
"Are we all from the same world?" Qin Muye looked at the first wave's speed, and it was clear they were facing 2nd Tier monsters. The speeds were absurdly fast.
"Forget it, we're not on the same level. Don't overthink it."
Qin Muye glanced at his and the Blood Demon Sprite's experience points, noting the significant gap.
[Lord/Scholar LV3 (2935/3200)]
[Hero: Blood Demon Sprite LV4 (2230/4600)]
"Just a couple hundred more points to level up. The Blood Demon Sprite is halfway there. He should level up tomorrow, but probably not today."
After a quick look, he turned his attention to the three special resource-producing buildings in the Point Shop, contemplating whether to buy crystals, gems, or sulfur.
"Moreover, do I have enough resources to complete my Mage Tower?" Qin Muye checked his resource bar, and the rewards from this battle perfectly filled the gap for his Mage Tower.
So now, Qin Muye faces two decisions: either expand his buildings to gather more resources or save the resources to upgrade his Mage Tower. If he can reach level 10, he can upgrade it directly.
