Chapter 209: Return
Chapter 209: Return
As Liam stepped into the Tower, he felt an oppressive atmosphere, as if something was slowly dying. Instinctively, he activated his modified Eagle Vision and directed it toward the Magic Rose inside the glass case.
This was the first time Liam used Magic to observe the rose. The rose was connected to countless golden threads, which, upon closer inspection, were composed of runes. Now, these threads were gradually fading, like gilded decorations that had oxidized over a long period of time.
The thickest golden thread connected to Beast. Liam could see with his naked eye that, although it was oxidizing more slowly, it had also become dull and lifeless. This was the reason why Beast was now on the brink of death.
"Please, do something to save him. After all, you are Wizards", Belle pleaded, her voice trembling with tears, as she spoke to Liam and the others.
Liam sighed inwardly and looked at Hermione, who was also watching him nervously. Even though they knew the plot, they were still worried that their intervention might change the outcome.
After confirming that the Witch was not present, Liam raised his wand. "I can only try my best", he said. Hermione then stepped forward, making a cut on her hand and holding Liam's injured hand.
Magic power transfer—this was one of the earliest applications they had learned after studying the new Blood Magic lineage. After using it, the two could share their magic power. However, since it involved two people's magic power, they would need to rest for a while afterward. It seemed Hermione shared his concern that the Witch might not arrive in time.
With a nod to Hermione, Liam began drawing runes of Life and Nature in the air. These runes quickly flew toward the golden threads, slowing their fading. Liam and Hermione felt their magic power being abruptly drained from their bodies, and both felt a sudden tightness in their chests. A cold, sticky substance trickled from their mouths and eyes, and they collapsed to the ground.
Belle observed Liam and Hermione's condition: their faces had turned pale after releasing the Magic, blood dripped from their mouths and eyes, and they both fell to the ground, sitting down.
It seemed the two Wizards couldn't sustain the effort for much longer. Belle, lying on top of Beast, looked into his lifeless eyes and said, "Don't go, don't leave me. I love you." She then kissed his face.
The last words "I love you" seemed to trigger something. Through his blood-red vision, Liam was astonished to see a beautiful middle-aged woman in tattered linen clothes standing before the glass case containing the rose.
"How could I not have noticed her presence just now?" Liam thought, feeling utterly shocked.
The middle-aged woman raised her hands, and the rose petals inside the glass case slowly floated up. She then pointed her right hand at the fallen Beast. The glass case shattered into powder, turning into a golden mist that enveloped Beast along with the rose petals.
Under the golden mist, Beast broke free from gravity and floated upright in mid-air. The woman then lowered her hood and walked over to Liam and Hermione, who had collapsed from exhaustion. A gentle voice reached their ears.
"Friends from afar, I see the kindness in your hearts. Please accept this gift. May you never abandon your current kindness." As she spoke, a large golden book floated in front of Liam and Hermione, then vanished without a trace.
At this moment, Beast transformed into a prince and embraced Belle. Liam turned his head and saw Hermione, her hands clasped under her chin, her eyes shining with excitement.
It seems that women, regardless of their age or status, prefer romantic comedies with happy endings. However, after seeing the two people start to kiss, Hermione felt a bit embarrassed watching someone who looked so much like her. She changed the subject, saying, "Let's see what the gift from the Witch is." She then picked up the golden book that had fallen to the ground.
"She's not a Witch", Liam finally confirmed the woman's identity when she was very close to him. This was thanks to the Blessing of Nature he had received from the Centaur, which allowed him to sense the powerful Natural Power surging through her body as she approached.
"I think she might be a Nymph." At this moment, the dark clouds that had enveloped the castle completely dissipated. Through the window, Liam could see the snow melting rapidly, and the flowers and plants in the Garden coming back to life. The entire castle was renewed. The distant barking of dogs also indicated that everyone who had been turned into furniture had been freed from the Curse.
"There aren't many beings with such powerful abilities, and only Nymphs would use such methods to play among humans."
"I think you're right." Hermione then pushed the open book towards Liam. The book was written in English and provided a thorough explanation of the application of Natural Power. Even Hermione, who wasn't particularly interested in Natural Power, could gain insights into transfiguration, spells, and herbology from it.
"You keep the book. After all, all our gains this time are thanks to you." Hermione closed the book and handed it to Liam.
Knowing Hermione's character, Liam didn't hesitate to take the book and put it in his Spatial Bag, then said to Hermione, "I'll keep it here for now. If you want to read it, just ask me."
The sunlight outside was bright, and Belle and the Beast, now restored to his princely form, approached Liam and bowed. "Thank you for your help. You will be our best friends, and the doors of this castle will always be open to you."
Liam and the others returned the bow and then went downstairs to see the castle staff, now free from the Curse, reuniting with their families in the town.
A few hours later, the celebration ball began, and this time Liam and Hermione also put on Formal Attire and joined the ball. Unfortunately, their dancing skills weren't very high, but fortunately, they had used the Assassin Training Method to improve their body coordination, so they managed to follow the steps without any major issues.
The celebration lasted the entire day, and it wasn't until the sun was about to set that everyone dispersed.
The next morning, after breakfast, Liam and Hermione bid farewell to the prince and Belle. The System had finally successfully located Liam's position, and since they had been away from home for a week, both Liam and Hermione were eager to return.
"Will you come back?" Belle looked at Hermione with a hint of reluctance as she asked.
"I think we will. Wishing you Wedding Bliss." Liam then pulled Hermione back a few steps, waved to Belle and the prince, and activated the System.
Belle and the prince only saw a flash of blue light, and then Liam and Hermione were gone.
"Will they come back?" Belle leaned against the prince and asked.
"They will. Our friends will definitely come back." The prince stroked Belle's hair and said.
