Chapter 208: The Battle of Aupsi City (Part 3)
Chapter 208: The Battle of Aupsi City (Part 3)
"Link, Joselyn, Andre, Carson, let's go!" Haimlaik glanced at the four Archmages behind him.
"Understood." The four Archmages stepped out of the crowd and followed Haimlaik into the teleportation array.
...
In front of the western gate of Aupsi City.
Buzz~
A deep blue teleportation portal opened here.
Led by Haimlaik, the five Archmages emerged, soaring into the sky and heading toward the location where Su Yu and Tina were.
Count Philip, seeing the five flying figures, nearly had a heart attack.
"Impossible! Five Fifth-Rank powerhouses, where did Kexing find such reinforcements?!"
Earlier, Philip had thought Kexing was making a fool of himself by stubbornly resisting. Now, he realized that the "fool" was actually himself.
...
Even from a distance, Haimlaik called out to Su Yu, "Kexing, we're here! We're not too late, are we?"
"Of course not, the battle hasn't even started yet." Su Yu smiled and waved at him. "Let me introduce you. This is Count Philip of Luan Moon Town; Count Philip, this is Haimlaik of the Scholar's Sanctuary."
Su Yu's tone was as casual as a normal friendly conversation, introducing them to each other.
Count Philip's face, however, was particularly grim. He glared at Haimlaik, "Haimlaik, this is a conflict between noble lords. How dare you, the Scholar's Sanctuary, interfere openly? Are you not afraid of being ostracized by the entire noble class?"
Haimlaik's expression remained unchanged as he shrugged, "We actually didn't want to get involved, but Kexing gave us too many Psychic Coins."
Then he turned to his companions and ordered, "Don't waste time arguing with them. Move quickly and finish this so we can get back to our books."
"Understood." The other four Archmages nodded and began to cast their spells.
The five Fifth-Rank powerhouses of Luan Moon Town looked particularly uneasy.
Now it was 5 against 8, and they were at an absolute numerical disadvantage. To make matters worse, their opponent had Tina, who could take on three at once. How were they supposed to fight?
Noticing that the Archmages of the Scholar's Sanctuary were simultaneously casting spells, the five powerhouses exchanged glances and quickly made a decision—retreat!
Without hesitation, the five of them immediately fled toward the western direction, heading for Olran City.
With a whoosh, they disappeared into the horizon in a matter of moments.
...
Su Yu and the others had no intention of pursuing.
With the five enemy powerhouses fleeing, the army below became lambs ready for slaughter.
The Archmages, including Haimlaik, gathered their magical energy, preparing to cast area-of-effect spells to incapacitate the army below.
"Hold on a moment, let me try to persuade them to surrender first," Su Yu said to the Archmages. Then, he shouted loudly to the Luan Moon Town army below:
"All the Fifth-Rank powerhouses fighting for you have fled, and we still have eight Fifth-Rank powerhouses on our side!
I order you to immediately lay down your weapons and surrender! I'll count down from ten, and if you don't surrender, there will be only one word—death!"
"Ten!"
"Nine!"
The Luan Moon Town soldiers were well aware of the situation above. Feeling the overwhelming magical energy from the five Archmages, each one felt their scalp tingling.
"I surrender!"
"I surrender! Please don't kill me!"
"I surrender too!"
The soldiers dropped their weapons and knelt in surrender.
This atmosphere was contagious; one person's surrender often led to those around them following suit.
"Three!"
"Two!"
"One!"
"Zero!"
Su Yu finished the countdown.
Below, a large crowd was already on their knees.
By now, except for Count Philip and his loyal guards, all the remaining soldiers had surrendered.
Count Philip's face was ashen as he watched this unfold.
But there was nothing he could do. He was only at the third stage of psychic power, and he couldn't escape even if he wanted to.
"Philip, are you not going to surrender?" Su Yu pulled out the Mushroom's Sorrow and pointed it at him.
"Hmph!" Philip snorted, trying to act the part of a martyr.
"Tina, kill him!" Su Yu said coldly.
"Sure thing!" Tina soared through the sky, a golden streak heading straight for the Earl. Her sword, like a blazing sun, was almost too bright to look at, as if she truly intended to slay him.
"Stop! Stop! Stop! I surrender! I surrender, all right?" Earl Philip rolled off his horse, bowing and begging for mercy.
His guards immediately followed suit, kneeling alongside their lord. Only then did Tina sheath her sword.
...
As it became clear that Su Yu was about to secure a decisive victory, Centurion Francis from the city panicked!
This attack on Su Yu's territory by Earl Philip wasn't just the Earl's idea; it was orchestrated by Claude Strayf, the Lord of Aurean City, who was pulling the strings from behind the scenes.
The four fifth-stage powerhouses disguised as Philip's guards were sent by Lord Claude to support him.
Lord Claude had two objectives:
1. Destroy Su Yu's territory.
2. Kill Tina Garcia.
But now, the tide had turned when Su Yu called in reinforcements from the Scholar's Sanctuary.
With both objectives in jeopardy, how could Francis not be worried?
However, Francis suddenly remembered something:
When he left Aurean City, the Lord had personally handed him a flare gun, instructing him to use it in times of crisis.
Clearly, this was such a moment. Francis quickly ordered his deputy to find the flare gun on the supply wagon.
Whoosh—Bang!
The flare gun was ignited, and the flare shot straight into the sky, exploding with a loud bang that drew everyone's attention.
Since it was daytime, the people below didn't see the flare's brilliant display, but they were drawn to the sound of the explosion.
At the exact moment the flare exploded, all the players in the city received a system announcement:
"Aurean City Lord [Claude Strayf] has personally led 3,000 elite city guards into this battle. Please prepare for defense."
"What? I can't be seeing this right! Another wave of attackers?"
"Aurean City Lord? That's a big deal!"
"The enemy's forces have doubled. Can Chief Ke still hold out this time?"
"Don't worry, Chief Ke has the ultimate trump card."
The players were buzzing with chatter.
...
At the western end of Archi City, dust clouds rose as the Lord's army approached the city.
At the same time, nine small "black dots" appeared in the western sky.
These were nine powerful individuals capable of flying at high altitudes.
Five of them were the ones who had fled earlier. The other four included Aurean City Lord Claude and three of his subordinates.
Claude had only eight fifth-stage powerhouses under his command, and he had brought them all this time, determined to kill Tina Garcia and complete his mission.
The 3,000 soldiers below him were his most elite troops. He was going all in!
...
Tina watched the approaching army with deep concern. "Ke, what do we do? Lord Claude is a sixth-stage powerhouse. None of us can stand against him."
Tina turned to look at the others behind her.
But to her surprise, Su Yu and the members of the Scholar's Sanctuary were not at all anxious.
This puzzled her. "What's going on? Aren't you worried?"
"Of course not, because we have reinforcements!" Su Yu smiled.
Su Yu sent a private message to Neon Nuclear Wastewater: "Wastewater, have Lord Alex and Lady Camila come over."
