Chapter 205: The Strongest Legion
Chapter 205: The Strongest Legion
Boom, boom, boom.
With heavy footsteps, a Titan-Cobragon marched towards Ji Xinghuo, standing at an imposing height of two and a half meters. Its massive frame resembled a metallic wall, wielding a colossal power hammer with a silver dragon emblem on its chest plate, signifying a high rank within its ranks.
Ji Xinghuo felt a piercing gaze upon him, along with invisible scanning methods, verifying his identity.
A deep voice emanated from within the helmet.
"Ji Xinghuo?"
"Yes."
"I am Liu Situo, First Company Captain of the Second Battalion of the Great Xia Summer Army. We have received orders from above to protect your safety and execute any additional tasks as instructed." Liu Situo declared. "Please give us your commands!"
The structure of the Great Xia Summer Army was no longer a secret.
With a total strength of around three thousand, the entire army consisted of Titan-Cobragons, forming a single regiment. Their commander, Luo Baoguo, ranked 19th on the Heavenly King Board and was respectfully addressed as the "Lord of the Great Xia Army." He was the first Titan-Cobragon in Earth's history and the most powerful of his kind.
Below the regimental level, the army was divided into five battalions, each comprising six hundred soldiers.
Each battalion was further split into five companies, with subsequent divisions into platoons and squads, consisting of 120, 30, and 10 soldiers, respectively.
All active-duty Titan-Cobragons were Superhumans, and those holding the position of company captains were at least Legendary!
Most captains had achieved the second stage of the Legendary realm.
Due to the characteristics of their template, the strength and size of Titan-Cobragons were directly correlated.
Liu Situo, with his stature and experience, had undoubtedly attained the second stage of the Legendary realm. Even without his powered armor, his might was terrifying.
The people around them heard his declaration and reacted differently.
Ji Xinghuo's teammates were thrilled, as the deployment of the Great Xia Summer Army signaled their rescue, regardless of the reason for their presence.
Kaminda's face, however, darkened further.
He scanned the surroundings of the rift valley, his heart already contemplating retreat.
Yet, Ji Xinghuo would not let him off the hook. Pointing at Kaminda, he instructed, "Captain Liu, please apprehend this man. He is implicated in the murder of at least seven citizens of our country and is a prime suspect in a case that severely threatens national security. Take him into custody immediately and bring him back for interrogation."
Instantly, the surrounding Titan-Cobragons, including Liu Situo, turned their attention to Kaminda.
Kaminda, with righteous indignation, chastised them, "This is the East African Kingdom, not the Asia-Pacific Community! Your presence here constitutes an illegal military invasion, and you have no authority to detain me. Think carefully before you act, for you are provoking an international war!"
"International war?"
Liu Situo hummed with amusement.
Though he said no more, his tone was laced with disdain and contempt.
Kaminda's face turned as dark as the bottom of a pot, his anger palpable.
"Kill them!"
Kaminda roared, his voice echoing throughout the rift valley and beyond, piercing the clouds. Almost simultaneously, the 120 Titan-Cobragons of the First Company sprang into action.
With a thunderous boom, Liu Situo's figure blurred.
Blue flame streams erupted from the back of his powered armor, propelling his five-ton frame with immense force. The vast and profound stellar power erupted, providing double acceleration, breaking the sound barrier in an instant. The violent air currents caused intense vibrations, as if he had teleported, appearing before Kaminda in the blink of an eye.
As Kaminda gave the order, his body swelled wildly, channeling countless streams of invisible energy from the over a hundred Superhumans in his army.
His muscles swelled, and his stellar power surged, causing his height to exceed three meters in the blink of an eye, resembling a giant.
However, before Kaminda could fully amplify his power, Liu Situo was upon him.
Boom!
Liu Situo swung his power hammer, smashing it into Kaminda's chest.
Kaminda was sent flying like a cannonball, hurtling hundreds of meters backward before crashing into the cliff wall of the rift valley, burying himself deep within. The impact caused a massive collapse of rocks and soil from above.
As the two Legendaries clashed, their respective armies also engaged in battle.
The Titan-Cobragons immediately focused their fire on the twelve Sky-Air fighters in the air. Their armor's firepower systems were networked, and targets had been assigned beforehand for optimal efficiency.
In an instant, countless high-explosive shells, lasers, and plasma rocket launchers struck the fighters, disabling their weapons and concentrating fire on their weak points. Within less than five seconds, most of the Sky-Air fighters began their descent, crippled and falling from the sky.
The fighters retaliated, but to little avail.
On the ground, the East African Kingdom's army opened fire, their bullets and beams striking the Titan-Cobragons but failing to penetrate the powered armor.
In contrast, the Titan-Cobragons' firepower was utterly devastating.
With the assistance of their fire control systems, they charged toward the enemy positions at high speed while maintaining continuous and accurate fire, wreaking havoc in the enemy's ranks.
The long-range exchange lasted for less than ten seconds before the East African Kingdom's army suffered over half casualties.
Then, the vanguard of the Titan-Cobragons plunged into the enemy formation.
War knives, spears, hammers, and greatswords—an array of massive heavy weapons were brandished and slashed. The strength of the Titan-Cobragons was already formidable, but with the enhancement of their powered armor, a casual strike could tear through the shells of armored vehicles and tanks, let alone the fragile human body.
Flesh and blood were torn asunder, and limbs were scattered across the battlefield.
A single Titan-Cobragon was capable of decimating a formation of hundreds of enemy troops, rendering their attacks utterly ineffective.
The East African Kingdom's army was never meant to face such a terrifying foe, and they crumbled instantly.
The remaining forces turned and fled in panic.
Only the hundred-man squad within the rift valley remained defiant. They were Kaminda's personal guard, all comprised of Advanced Superhumans and above, equipped with the finest gear and boasting a well-coordinated team composition.
Ji Xinghuo and his five teammates stood in the center as several Titan-Cobragons formed a human wall in front of them, using their bodies to shield them from enemy fire.
Behind them, several Titan-Cobragons jumped into the air, their armor hovering as they fired laser machine guns continuously at the enemy. The enemy's gunfire ricocheted off their armor, sending sparks flying but only causing them to stagger slightly without inflicting any real damage.
On both flanks, over a dozen Titan-Cobragons charged forward, braving the enemy's gunfire.
They had all activated their armor's jet acceleration, and in a single breath, they surged into the midst of their foes, unleashing a slaughter.
Each Titan-Cobragon, clad in powered armor, could take on ten opponents.
Moreover, they were an army!
Ten seconds later.
On the ground, hundreds of meters away, all hundred-plus enemies lay on the ground. Their blood stained the soil of the rift valley red, flowing into the nearby river and turning even its waters crimson.
The battle had ended as soon as it began!
Ji Xinghuo and his teammates felt a sense of suffocation. The might of the Great Xia Summer Army was renowned, and they had watched countless videos of them in action.
However, only when witnessing them in battle firsthand could one truly comprehend their terrifying combat prowess.
Powerful, merciless, and ruthless!
Even when faced with ten times, or even several dozen times their number, they effortlessly crushed their foes, an unstoppable force.
This was the perfect fusion of supernatural power and technology, and each Titan-Cobragon in their powered armor was a precision killing machine.
In Ji Xinghuo's vision, the mental origin energy indicators were going crazy.
Every enemy killed by the Titan-Cobragons had their mental origin energy harvested by him, and the numbers kept ticking upwards.
"Hiss!"
He took a deep breath, trying to alleviate the bloated, painful sensation in his mind.
Hundreds of meters away.
The collapsed cliff wall exploded, and Kaminda flew out, brandishing a battle sword. However, his current state was pitiful. His body had shrunk to only about two and a half meters tall, and his army had been annihilated, leaving him unable to draw strength from them, resulting in a significant decrease in power.
Kaminda's chest caved in, his flesh and blood nearly pulverized by that hammer blow, exposing his bones and internal organs.
Just as he emerged, a figure flew towards him.
It was Liu Situo.
A massive lightning bolt, as thick as an arm, shot out from Liu Situo's finger. It was extremely refined, twisting and turning dozens of times in mid-air before catching up to the frantically fleeing Kaminda and slamming into his back.
Boom!
Kaminda's body manifested a star power armor, but it only lasted half a second before it was shattered by the lightning, and he fell from the sky.
Liu Situo appeared above Kaminda, like a Mount Tai pressing down, and stomped down with his foot.
Bang!
The ground trembled, and Kaminda smashed into the ground, creating a crater with a diameter of more than ten meters. Liu Situo landed in the pit, his giant hand, encased in steel gloves, gripped Kaminda's neck and lifted him up. Lightning crackled all over Kaminda's body, transmitted from Liu Situo's hand, rendering him unable to counter.
"International war? And you dare?"
Kaminda's eyes blazed with fury, his face covered in blood, as he glared at Liu Situo but couldn't make out his face through the helmet. In the end, he couldn't utter a single word.
"Scum like you isn't even worth dirtying my hands by killing you."
Liu Situo tossed him aside casually.
Kaminda was thrown a hundred meters away, slamming into a giant cliff. The entire cliff shook violently, sending countless fragments tumbling down. Kaminda's body, with its bones shattered into countless pieces, fell limply to the ground, unable to get up again.
"Take him back and hand him over to the Sword Bureau," Liu Situo ordered.
"Yes, Company Captain!"
Two Titan-Cobragons went over and dragged Kaminda back, looking like they were pulling a dead dog. Kaminda was completely unconscious.
Liu Situo returned to Ji Xinghuo and his teammates, and most of the surrounding Titan-Cobragons assembled there as well.
Only a few remained on both sides of the rift valley to maintain their guard.
"Company Captain Liu," Ji Xinghuo said, looking up at the giant-like Titan-Cobragon. His mind was still filled with the image of Liu Situo's battle prowess—that pure display of strength and speed would likely be etched into his memory for life.
Chi Zhonglin and the others also felt a mix of apprehension and excitement, but their admiration far outweighed any other emotion.
"Our orders are to ensure your safe return," Liu Situo said.
Ji Xinghuo nodded. "How are we getting back?"
"You'll see soon."
Soon, Ji Xinghuo looked up towards the western horizon, and his teammates followed his gaze, but they couldn't see anything.
Then, they heard a low, rumbling sound, as if something massive was flying overhead.
Ji Xinghuo had already seen it.
It was a flight warship shrouded in an optical stealth force field, with a shuttle-like hull less than 200 meters long. It had a silver-gray paint job, four triple-mounted turrets fore and aft, a flat and wide bottom, visible thick armor, and four huge engines spewing flames.
It was the Warhawk-class cruiser of the Asia-Pacific Community!
Ji Xinghuo had only seen it online before; this was his first time encountering it in reality and at such close quarters.
The Warhawk-class cruiser was a secondary warship of the Asia-Pacific Community Air Force, with extremely high comprehensive performance. It combined armored protection with onboard firepower and was also relatively fast and agile in atmospheric flight. It was also equipped with an optical stealth force field, making it perfectly suited for executing military missions of various levels and scales.
"Board the ship," Liu Situo ordered.
The engines of the Titan-Cobragons' armor erupted with flames as they took to the sky.
A hatch abruptly opened in mid-air, revealing a bright interior with a spacious deck. One by one, the Titan-Cobragons flew inside.
Ji Xinghuo and his five teammates were escorted aboard by the Titan-Cobragons, and even Kaminda was brought along.
Liu Situo was the last to board, and as soon as he entered, the hatch closed. The cruiser accelerated and climbed to high altitude, leaving the rift valley far below. The drop pod they had used earlier self-destructed, turning into countless fragments.
