Dark Flare Dragon let out a high-pitched dragon's cry, spewing out hellish black flames from its mouth!
Although both dragons on the field had the same attack power, it was only natural for Alpha to use Dark Flare Dragon to attack first. This was because Dark Flare Dragon had the effect of "inflicting damage to your opponent equal to the original attack power of the destroyed monster," which Flamesword recognized as a skillful move.
If Gravity Strike Dragon had attacked first, it would have only dealt 600 battle damage. With Dark Flare Dragon's additional attack, the total damage for this turn would have been 3000, falling short of a knockout.

"Unfortunately, it won't," You Xuan interrupted with a smile.
Alpha's expression shifted, his eyes narrowing slightly.
As the smoke cleared, Iron Knight Gearfried remained standing, unscathed.
"What?" Alpha blurted out.
"I removed this card from my Graveyard," You Xuan said, revealing a card from his Graveyard. "Shield Warrior. By removing this card from the game, I can protect my monsters from being destroyed in battle."
"Tch, so you discarded it when you drew earlier," Alpha grunted. "In that case, 'Gravity Strike Dragon' attacks again!"
This time, without the shield to protect him, Iron Knight Gearfried raised his arm to block, but he was overpowered and sent crashing to the ground, his body and iron armor shattered.
