Chapter 202: Sorry, I'm a Spy~~~
A cheerful and uplifting flute melody rang out on the avenue, like a blue bird riding the wind towards the distant horizon.
Yuyi Xuan Yue, on his journey, glanced at the long carriage beside him, where a traveling performer was happily playing the flute during a break from their journey.
The melody was enchanting.
Rarely did Yuyi slow his pace, but he paused to listen intently.
As the song ended, everyone present applauded.
Yuyi nodded in appreciation and was about to leave when his gaze fell on one of the guards beside the carriage.
The guard seemed no different from the others, but his heart was racing fast when Yuyi appeared. And now, it was beating even faster.
Yuyi retracted his gaze and continued on his way.
A few minutes later, the guard finally breathed a sigh of relief, convinced that the person he had just seen was now far away. "I'm going to use the bathroom," he said to his companion.
After walking into the dense forest by the road, he took out a scroll and wrote, "Discovered Yuyi Xuan Yue. Time and location."
As he was about to perform the Summoning Jutsu, a hand landed on his shoulder, and a pair of eyes met his.
He didn't even have a chance to be shocked or frightened before he lost consciousness.
"The Konoha Intelligence Division has been sending out these guys quite frequently lately," Yuyi Xuan Yue remarked as he glanced over the scroll the guard had just written. A flame appeared in his palm, burning the scroll to ashes as he pondered.
On his way to Mount Kazuragi, he had already encountered several groups of Konoha ninjas.
He had thought they were on some kind of mission, but now it seemed that their sole purpose was to find the new Lock Front Village.
Among those searching were not only Konoha ninjas in their official uniforms but also undercover agents infiltrating the ninja world in various disguises, just like the guard before him.
The intensity of this search far exceeded that of the past two years.
From the guard's memories, Yuyi learned a great deal of intelligence.
At present, not only Konoha but also the other four Great Ninja Villages and the smaller villages under their control had mobilized a large portion of their forces, either openly or secretly, as if they intended to turn over every stone in the ninja world to find the Lock Front Village.
While a single ninja village might not pose a significant threat, their true strength lay in their ability to wage war.
And now, the five great ninja villages were trying to shift the situation to their most advantageous terrain.
"This reaction is rather intense. Have the five great ninja villages finally realized they are no longer the players but the played?" Yuyi chuckled, not too concerned.
His current goal remained the same: the key to all his plans—the Rinnegan! "I'll deal with you big shots later."
Yuyi's figure flashed, and he was off again.
Unlike Yuyi, who didn't take it to heart, the sudden large-scale search by the five great ninja villages caused quite a bit of trouble for others.
Pein, also on a journey, sensed the unusual activity in the ninja world. After using the Human Path to extract the memories of several Konoha ninjas, he understood the situation.
"The entire ninja world is searching for Yuyi Xuan Yue's forces? This could be interesting."
If it weren't for the fact that the White Zetsu had not discovered the location of the new Lock Front Village, he wouldn't have minded adding fuel to the fire and spreading the information himself.
But for now...
Pein paused and touched the ring he wore.
Soon, the members of the Akatsuki organization, upon receiving his notification, appeared by his side, their bodies shimmering like mirages.
"What is it, boss?" Kisame Hoshigaki, curious, asked. The team was on a break after the death of their comrade Itachi Uchiha.
Pein replied calmly, "The five great ninja villages are currently devoting all their efforts to searching for Yuyi Xuan Yue's forces. Everyone be cautious for a while. If you sense something amiss, feel free to put your missions on hold."
Pein hadn't forgotten that each of his team members was an S-rank missing-nin. If they were discovered by the ninjas of the great villages, with the current mobilization numbers, it would be difficult to escape unscathed.
After dispatching his avian messenger, Deidara sauntered over to Sasori, a mischievous glint in his eye. Unaware of his partner's newfound hobby, Sasori gave him a sideways glance.
"Deidara, are you feeling alright?" Sasori asked, his voice laced with suspicion as he edged away.
"Of course, I'm fine!" Deidara replied confidently, patting his chest. "Sasori, I've got an amazing art piece in the works. I guarantee it will blow you away! Just you wait!"
Deidara's eyes sparkled with anticipation as he envisioned the moment he would reveal his true identity as a spy to Sasori, expecting a dramatic reaction from his artistic comrade.
Meanwhile, in the depths of Mount Sumeru, a series of explosions rocked the secret base.
"There's a secret base here!"
"We've got ninjas! Most likely the Lock Front Village from the mission!"
"Gather everyone! Seal off this area, now!"
---
People's circumstances differ greatly.
While the five great ninja villages' large-scale search had yet to locate Yuyi Xuan Yue or the Akatsuki, they stumbled upon another unexpected target.
"Was all this really necessary? I haven't even been in the ninja world for that long," murmured a bewildered Furido as he witnessed the approaching swarm of ninjas and their techniques in the distance.
Even now, he had no idea what had transpired to warrant such a response.
