Chapter 202: New York Sanctum (First Update)
Chapter 202: New York Sanctum (First Update)
"Jerry, why did you stop?"
After walking for a while, Teacher Berry noticed Jerry was missing. She turned around and saw him standing there, frozen in place, and called out to him in confusion.
"Oh, coming!"
Jerry snapped out of his daze, responded, and quickly caught up.
Regardless of whether the house was related to Kamar-Taj, it wasn't a good time to investigate it now.
They wandered around until around seven or eight in the evening, then found a restaurant on Brick Street for a hearty dinner, marking the end of their day out.
Back home, Has and the others, exhausted from the day's activities, took a shower and retired to their respective rooms.
Jerry also returned to his room.
He had been thinking about the house with the strong magic fluctuations that he discovered earlier. He believed it was very likely the New York Sanctum of Kamar-Taj.
If it truly was the New York Sanctum, should he approach it?
After much deliberation, he decided to just note down the address and avoid investigating it for now.
According to Odin, Kamar-Taj was the most powerful sorcerer organization on Earth, and the Sorcerer Supreme, its leader, was known for his strength across multiple dimensions.
While Jerry was tempted by the endless magic books at Kamar-Taj, he felt it was too hasty to approach them given his current strength.
After all, he was a witch, different from the world's secret sorcerers. He used his own magic power to cast spells.
Moreover, he hadn't fully mastered the three systems of magic he was currently studying. There were still many spells he hadn't learned, and he didn't have the time or energy to add another complex system of magic.
So, he decided to wait. Once his strength increased and he needed more magic knowledge to enhance himself, he would cautiously approach Kamar-Taj, the powerful sorcerer organization that protected Earth from invasion.
"About time to travel!"
Putting aside his thoughts about Kamar-Taj, Jerry opened the Strange Panel and prepared to travel.
In fact, his Mini World cooldown had ended over a month ago.
However, at that time, he hadn't fully mastered Sealing Magic, so he extended his entry into the Harry Potter Mini World.
Sealing Magic was the best method to combat Voldemort and the magic he would use in Harry Potter, so it was best to have it fully mastered before entering.
During this period, he also made two trips to Asgard with Thor, focusing on reviewing Asgardian magic.
This time, his goal in entering the Harry Potter Mini World was to refine his combat system to prepare for the impending crisis.
Although Loki was imprisoned in Asgard due to his actions, Jerry believed that even without Loki, the Purple Alien would send others to cause trouble on Earth.
If he wasn't strong enough to face the alien army, it would be very dangerous.
The situation was further complicated by the fact that the plot advantage he knew from the first Avengers movie was no longer available. Everything that would happen next was unknown to him.
If the Purple Alien himself came, it would be a dire situation.
So, during this time, besides mastering Sealing Magic, he spent a lot of time riding his thestral, a fast-flying creature, to clean up crime in New York and the surrounding areas.
His goal was to earn more red stars, allowing him to stay longer in the Harry Potter world and enhance his overall strength.
"Let's start the dimensional crossing!"
Pressing the travel button on the Strange Panel, when Jerry opened his eyes again, he found himself back in the Leaky Cauldron on Diagon Alley.
Since he had only spent 50 days in the Sorcerer's Apprentice world, there was still over half a month before the start of the next term at Hogwarts.
"So many letters?"
As soon as he appeared in the room, Jerry was surprised to see a table by his window piled high with over a hundred letters.
He opened a few and found they were greetings from his classmates at school, including Hermione, Ron, Neville, Daphne, and Draco Malfoy, among others.
Most of the letters described their summer activities, asked about Jerry's training with the national Quidditch team, and invited him to visit their homes.
In Ron's letter, he mentioned that he and his two older brothers had recently used their father's magic car to rescue Harry from his aunt's house and brought him to The Burrow.
Hermione's letter invited him to join her in Diagon Alley the following Wednesday to buy their second-year textbooks.
Oh, and there was also a letter from the school, listing the required textbooks for the second year and the start date.
However, when Jerry saw that seven of the books on the list were written by Gilderoy Lockhart, he couldn't help but grimace.
He suddenly remembered that the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher was this Lockhart, a fraud who only knew how to cast Obliviate and had built his reputation by plagiarizing the experiences of other witches.
Lockhart's practical magic skills were probably not even up to the level of a second-year witch.
"Looks like I'll have to deal with this guy if I have the time!"
Jerry didn't want his Defense Against the Dark Arts class to turn into a completely meaningless theater course.
"I didn't expect that even though I'm not in this world, the owls still found this place to deliver the letters!"
Jerry had thought that if he disappeared from this world for nearly two months, the owls wouldn't be able to find him.
But it seemed that even when he wasn't in this world, the owls still delivered the letters to his last known location.
It made sense, though. During the Christmas holidays, the owls had delivered gifts to his room at the Leaky Cauldron even when he was gone for two weeks.
"August 6th, that's still in time!"
Checking the date, Jerry began to reply to each of the letters from his classmates.
Hogwarts' summer break started in mid-June, and after renting a room at the Leaky Cauldron, Jerry had returned to the Main World.
Spending 50 days in the Sorcerer's Apprentice world meant that 50 days had also passed in the Harry Potter world, so the calendar now showed August 6th.
The start of the new term was September 1st, giving him over 20 days to do other things.
The next day, Jerry sent all his replies through the owl post at Diagon Alley. He then said goodbye to Tom, the owner of the Leaky Cauldron, and left Diagon Alley.
Taking the subway to King's Cross Station, Jerry didn't enter Platform Nine and Three-Quarters. Instead, he bought a regular train ticket like any ordinary person.
He wasn't going to Hogwarts but to the coastal city of Hastings.
