Chapter 200: The Lightning Elemental Plane
Chapter 200: The Lightning Elemental Plane
In the northwest region of the continent, the Truth Council is the most notorious wizarding organization. Despite their infamy, there's no denying that the Truth Council is the top wizarding group in the northwest, having suppressed other wizards for centuries, leaving them seething with resentment but powerless to act.
However, this formidable wizarding organization was effortlessly destroyed by Su Nan.
This demonstrates the true power of a fully-fledged wizard! What's more, this wizard is the biological brother of the Starry Emperor. If he were to intervene, even the combined forces of the northwest region's nations would be no match for the two brothers.
Everyone present was well aware of this.
But knowing and acting are two different things. They had no idea how to counter a wizard powerful enough to destroy the Truth Council.
Trevor didn't expect them to come up with a solution. After a moment's pause, he continued, "While Su Nan is powerful, he's not invincible."
"By uniting all the third-level wizard apprentices from the northwest, we stand a chance of defeating him."
The Aurora King's eyes lit up at this, but he quickly hesitated, "But how do we unite all the third-level wizard apprentices?"
Third-level wizard apprentices are treated as honored guests by the royal families, nobles, and major aristocrats of each nation. Their status is on par with that of a king, and the Aurora Kingdom doesn't have the prestige to rally them all.
"We can persuade the Russell family to step in!" Trevor said with a determined look. "The Russell family has immense prestige in the wizarding circles of the northwest. If they take the lead, the others will definitely follow."
"Uniting is a good thing for everyone. They certainly don't want to see the Starry Empire unify the northwest!"
The Aurora King was convinced and nodded vigorously. "Fine, I'll write to Farkado Russell right away!"

Starry Academy, Teaching Building
As soon as class ended, Donohue dragged Fleming out of the classroom and hurried to the cafeteria.
"Move faster, I heard the cafeteria's special today is Sess fruits. If we're late, they'll be gone!"
Fleming sighed, "It's just Sess fruits. Silver Moon flower essence can also boost mental activity, and it costs the same. Is it really worth getting so worked up?"
"How can you compare them?" Donohue scoffed. "A Sess fruit salad tastes much better than Silver Moon flower essence. For the same price, why wouldn't you choose Sess fruits?"
He gestured around them. "Look, everyone is rushing for the Sess fruits."
Fleming glanced around and indeed saw many students hurrying in the same direction, a sight he rarely saw.
Scratching his cheek, Fleming couldn't understand why taste was so important.
Seeing his expression, Donohue rolled his eyes. "Forget it, you bookworm wouldn't understand."
Ever since Donohue discovered that Fleming had completed three foundational courses in just half a month, he had dubbed him a bookworm. With Fleming finishing his foundational courses in just two years and starting advanced courses, the "bookworm" nickname had spread throughout the academy.
Donohue genuinely admired his friend. After all, Fleming had mastered the Star Ring Meditation Technique in just eighteen days and constructed his first Star Ring in about nine months. In the Starry Academy, this record was second only to seniors Sheman, Cole, and Ethan.
These three were widely recognized as the leaders among Starry Academy students, now leading armies in the conquest of the underground world.
Being mentioned in the same breath as these three was a testament to Fleming's exceptional talent.
Many people praised Fleming's outstanding talent, but only Donohue knew how hard he worked, dedicating almost all his energy to cultivation and study.
Donohue rarely saw Fleming engage in any leisure activities; at most, he would stare at the water sprites in the cafeteria.
For this, Donohue had teased him, suggesting that once he mastered the "First-Level Summon Monster Spell," he should try summoning a water sprite and convincing it to sign a contract to become a maid.
Fleming had been quite intrigued by the idea.
Rushing as fast as they could, the two finally managed to secure two servings of Sess fruits before they ran out.
After a satisfying meal, Donohue stepped out of the cafeteria and breathed a contented sigh. "The effects of the last Silver Moon flower essence just wore off. The Sess fruits will keep me going for ten days."
"Fleming, where are you headed next? The library or the mission hall?"
Donohue spoke, but received no response from Fleming. Turning his head, he noticed that the latter was staring intently at something.
"What's wrong?"
Following Fleming's gaze, Donohue saw a crowd of people hurrying in the same direction, their faces filled with excitement.
"What's going on?" Donohue asked, surprised.
Fleming shook his head, equally curious.
Seeing this, Donohue decided to approach a friendly-looking student and asked, "Brother, where are you all headed?"
"The college gates," the student replied, looking at them with surprise. "Don't you know? Senior Sheman and Senior Artur are back from the Underworld today."
With that, he hurried off.
"Senior Sheman!" Donohue's eyes lit up, and he immediately pulled Fleming toward the gates. "Let's go see."
This time, Fleming didn't object.
He had heard many stories about Sheman in the college but had never seen him in person. He was quite curious.
The two of them rushed to the college gates just in time to see a crowd surrounding a man and a woman entering.
The woman was strikingly beautiful, with a warm and approachable smile, exuding a gentle and graceful aura.
Fleming immediately recognized her as Senior Artur.
He had heard that she was kind and well-liked among the students, with many seniors admiring her, though no one knew if she had a significant other.
The man beside her was undoubtedly Senior Sheman.
While not particularly handsome, he had a composed and steady demeanor, clearly a person of stable character.
Sheman and Artur were surrounded by a throng of seniors, leaving the freshmen like Donohue and Fleming to watch from a distance.
"I heard Senior Sheman has already constructed his seventh star ring!"
"Wow, that fast? So he's almost a third-level wizard apprentice?"
"Traveler Mentor said it himself—Senior Sheman is likely to break through and advance before he turns fifty!"
"That's amazing. I'll be grateful if I can become a second-level wizard apprentice by fifty."
"No wonder he's the favorite disciple of Lord Su Nan."
Listening to the excited chatter around him, Fleming couldn't help but feel a pang of envy.
He too wanted to become an outstanding wizard apprentice like Senior Sheman.
As Sheman and the crowd moved further away, Fleming turned to leave.
"Where are you going?" Donohue asked.
"To the meditation room," Fleming replied, waving his hand without turning back.
Instead of standing around here, he might as well go back and focus on his training.
One day, he would become someone others envied.
Finally managing to escape the crowd, Sheman let out a long breath as he approached his dormitory door.
Thankfully, second-level wizard apprentices had their own private villas on campus, or he would never have been able to get away so easily.
"Being the top student isn't easy, huh?" Artur teased with a grin.
"Don't mock me," Sheman said with a wry smile.
He wasn't sure how he had ended up with the title of top student.
Artur teased him a bit more before getting to the point. "What are your plans now that you're back?"
"I'm going to focus on my training for a few years," Sheman said, his decision already made. "I accumulated a lot of contribution points during the war, enough to last me for a while. I'll dedicate myself to my training and aim to break through and advance as soon as possible."
Artur nodded, unsurprised. She had the same plan.
"Let's both work hard."
At the top of the Dragon Skeleton Tower, in the control center, the hall surrounded by the galaxy and stars seemed to float in the universe, a pristine white space.
Su Nan stood by the elemental pool, examining the patterns on its surface.
"Come to think of it, it's time to expand the elemental pool."
When he first took control of the Dragon Skeleton Tower, he wasn't a wizard and could only repair the elemental pool.
But now, things were different. He had the power to build an elemental pool and could take it to the next level.
"Expanding the elemental pool is a good start. It will also help me practice for constructing the elemental pool in my own wizard tower."
The elemental pool in a wizard tower was much larger and more complex to build than the one in the Dragon Skeleton Tower.
Su Nan felt it was essential to gain some experience first.
"I'll start the project when I return from the Lightning Elemental Plane."
Gathering his thoughts, Su Nan took out a gemstone as a medium, channeled the elemental pool's power to open an elemental gateway, and stepped through it.
His vision suddenly brightened, and a sense of weightlessness washed over him.
The strange sensation lasted for several seconds before he felt the solid ground beneath his feet.
Su Nan’s eyes snapped open, revealing a desolate landscape and the rumbling of distant thunder.
"Is this the Lightning Elemental Plane?"
He looked around, seeing nothing but barren land. There were no plants, no jagged rocks, only scorched craters that stretched as far as the eye could see, as if the land had been bombarded by relentless artillery fire.
The scorched earth extended endlessly, with no sign of an end in sight.
Looking up, he saw a sky shrouded in mist, with lightning streaking through the clouds. Purple flashes of light illuminated the sky, and it seemed as if dragons were soaring through the storm.
Su Nan’s eyes widened in amazement.
No matter how many times he saw this, the sight never failed to inspire awe.
No one had ever fully explored the extent of an elemental plane, as their boundaries stretched infinitely.
Take the Lightning Elemental Plane, for example. It contained countless lightning elemental spaces, each with its own unique characteristics.
Some were scorched wastelands with unending lightning strikes.
Others were filled with roiling clouds and thunder seas.
Some even had a single orb of pure lightning.
Regardless of their unique traits, all lightning elemental spaces shared one thing in common: they were incredibly dangerous.
The danger wasn’t just from the omnipresent lightning that could strike at any moment. The real threat came from the elemental spirits that inhabited these planes.
Elemental spirits were beings composed entirely of elemental energy particles. In a sense, they could be seen as elemental energy with a mind of its own.
Most of the time, they lived within their respective elemental planes, only occasionally venturing into the material plane or other outer planes when summoned by a spellcaster.
Different types of elemental spirits had different personalities.
Wind and water elementals were generally mild-tempered.
Earth elementals were usually slow and steady.
Fire elementals were synonymous with aggression.
Lightning elementals were slightly better than fire elementals but were still highly volatile and combative.
Elemental spirits varied in strength.
Weaker elemental spirits could be easily dispatched by a second-level wizard apprentice.
Stronger elemental spirits, however, could even pose a challenge to third-level wizard apprentices.
Elemental giants, the next tier up, were powerful enough to rival full-fledged wizards.
As for the even higher tiers, like elemental elders and elemental lords, they were far beyond Su Nan’s current capabilities.
Elemental lords, in particular, possessed at least demigod-level strength, with the most powerful ones capable of matching deities in combat.
The Lightning Elemental Plane was a chaotic realm of constant conflict, with numerous elemental lords vying for dominance. Even a lesser-known elemental lord had the power to outmatch many weak deities.
Su Nan dared not step into the elemental spaces controlled by these powerful entities.
The elemental planes were vast and boundless, and each time an elemental gateway was opened, it led to a random elemental space.
Fortunately, his luck held, and the elemental space he entered had a relatively low concentration of energy particles. It was unlikely to harbor an elemental lord or an elder.
As for elemental giants, as long as he stayed away from the deeper regions, he should be safe.
Regaining his composure, Su Nan activated his Ring of Ultimate Protection.
The [Forbidden Zone] ability recharged too slowly, so he planned to use it only in emergencies.
With that done, he started walking forward.
The Lightning Elemental Plane had no distinguishable terrain, making it impossible to navigate by memory. However, he didn’t need to worry about that, as he could simply open a new spatial gateway to return.
All he needed to do was be cautious and avoid areas with high concentrations of lightning elemental energy, particularly the core regions.
Boom!
The deafening thunder never ceased, with lightning strikes hitting the ground every few seconds, sending rocks and debris flying.
It was clear that the scorched craters were the result of these constant strikes.
Even with the naked eye, one could feel the immense power of these lightning bolts.
Anything below the level of a Legendary Knight would be obliterated in a single strike.
And this was just in an area with relatively lower concentrations of lightning. Deeper in, the power of the lightning would only increase.
"Without the strength of a full-fledged wizard, coming here is a death sentence," Su Nan mused to himself.
He had barely walked a few dozen meters when he was struck by three lightning bolts, each reducing the defense of his Ring of Ultimate Protection by several points. This made him frown.
A few points might not seem like much, but he had just entered the Lightning Elemental Plane. If he stayed longer, the ring’s defenses might not last.
