Chapter 200: Is There Enough Time?
Chapter 200: Is There Enough Time?
Although the Mucosnail is a low-level familiar, it possesses a radar ability. Its antennae act like a radio locator, emitting around 100 electric pulses per minute into the surrounding water.
The electromagnetic waves generated by the pulses reflect off nearby objects and return to the Mucosnail as radar echoes, allowing it to sense its environment, much like a radar system.
Despite Aquariana's Water Fusion Trait, it is still a supernatural creature. Unlike the regular flow of water, any slight disturbance can be detected within a general range.
"Hey, wake up!" The Bulky Guard, anxious, shook the Mucosnail vigorously by its antennae.
Finding Aquariana, who has the Water Fusion Trait, without causing a commotion could only be done with the help of this familiar's radar ability.
What are we supposed to do if it's drunk?
He had finally determined that Aquariana was in this neighborhood. If he didn't find it quickly, it might escape to another location.
After shaking the Mucosnail for a while with no response, the Bulky Guard, frustrated, kicked the skinny man who was sleeping on the table.
Damn it, it's all because of this skinny guy and his drinking.
...
In the early morning, Qiao Sang, holding the Treasure Seeker, rode on Fangy's back and left the neighborhood to head to school.
A figure in the shadows watched Qiao Sang leave the neighborhood and then turned to walk toward room 1705.
This figure was none other than the Bulky Guard, who had designs on Aquariana.
"Wait, once we go in, you should look in the area with the pond first, got it?" The Bulky Guard whispered, his eyes focused ahead.
It looked like he was talking to himself, but if someone were to look closely, they would see a Mucosnail's head peeking out from his collar.
"Sniff, sniff."
The Mucosnail nodded, indicating it understood.
"If you don't find it in the pond, check the rest of the house for other water sources", the Bulky Guard instructed.
All the villas in the neighborhood have their own ponds in the courtyards. The Mucosnail had sneaked into a few houses and knew the general layout, but other water sources inside the houses would have to be searched more carefully.
"Sniff, sniff." The Mucosnail nodded obediently.
"Also, don't cause any more trouble. Don't eat anything you see, acting like I never feed you properly", the Bulky Guard grumbled, recalling the previous day's incident.
The Mucosnail remained silent.
The Bulky Guard walked past room 1705 without stopping, as if nothing was out of the ordinary. However, the Mucosnail had already quietly slithered off toward room 1705.
The walls of the villas were not high, and the Mucosnail easily climbed over. It remembered its Beastmaster's instructions to check the pond first.
"Bang!"
"Bang!"
"Bang, bang!!"
A series of loud noises echoed from the courtyard.
The Mucosnail froze, startled. Usually, its Beastmaster only let it in after the people in the house had left. This time, it was being allowed in while someone was still inside.
Could this be... trust!
The Mucosnail felt a surge of emotion, its eyes becoming determined.
Since its Beastmaster trusted it so much, it absolutely couldn't be discovered!
Just as the Mucosnail cautiously crawled into the courtyard and lifted its head, its eyes widened in shock, and its body went rigid, as if it had been petrified.
It saw a group of identical familiars, each one appearing gigantic to it, baring their teeth. Terrifying flames condensed in front of them, filling the courtyard with heat.
"Bang!!"
"Bang!!"
The flames exploded simultaneously, causing the ground to shake noticeably.
"Sniff, sniff..."
Mucosnail couldn't help but shiver.
It was too terrifying...
"Sniff..."
Mucosnail thought its Beastmaster must have a screw loose to bring it to such a terrifying place!
It slowly moved backward, just about to turn around when it suddenly locked eyes with one of the massive, vicious heads that was baring its teeth.
"Sniff!!"
Mucosnail's breath caught in its throat, its eyes snapped shut, and it fainted on the spot.
...
On the other side, on the way to school, Fangy suddenly stopped.
Qiao Sang asked, "Did your Clone run out of energy?"
Fangy had been able to walk openly on the streets again these past two mornings, so it had started resuming its long-distance control training with its Clone.
With school starting in a few days, Qiao Sang hadn't given up on the idea of Fangy's original attending school while its Clone trained at home.
"Tooth."
Fangy shook its head.
"Then why did you stop?" Qiao Sang asked curiously.
"Tooth?"
Fangy tilted its head, not sure why it had stopped. It just felt like something was off with its Clone.
Seeing that Fangy couldn't explain, Qiao Sang didn't take it too seriously and continued on to school.
When they arrived at the Training Field, they immediately noticed that Wang Yao's face was swollen on one side, as if he had been hit.
Qiao Sang couldn't help but ask, "What happened to your face?"
Wang Yao looked at her with a pained expression and said, "Isn't it because of you?"
"Because of me?" Qiao Sang was confused. What did she have to do with it?
"Because you said the Treasure Seeker got agitated and used Shadow Control after having its sausage thrown away and its Ring taken", Wang Yao sighed. "So I went home and tried it with my Fire Chain Python. I threw away its food while it was eating, and it slapped me with its tail."
"Huh?" Qiao Sang was stunned, not knowing how to respond.
Throwing away a Fire Familiar's food while it was eating—that took some serious guts.
Imagine if she tried to do that to Fangy. Fangy would probably... well, it wouldn't use its tail to slap her.
"You and your Fire Chain Python don't get along very well", Qiao Sang summed up.
Wang Yao: "..."
...
During the free training period, everyone was numb watching the Flame Listener being controlled by the Treasure Seeker's Psychic Power, making it spin in circles.
Just because the Ghost Familiar had Psychic-type attributes...
Ha...
Hahaha...
If the Treasure Seeker could learn Advanced Skills, what was the big deal about having Psychic attributes?
Right?
It was a Ghost Familiar with Psychic Type!
Ghost-type and Psychic Type, two powerful attributes in one familiar. How was anyone supposed to compete in a battle? They might as well just surrender!
What kind of monster was this? Not only did it evolve Fangflare into a Flame Listener, but it also bonded with a Treasure Seeker with such a bizarre familiar...
Qiao Sang, lost in her book, didn't notice the gazes of the others.
Fierce Dragon Zheng, sitting next to her, watched the Flame Listener and Treasure Seeker training together and chuckled, "Qiao Sang, I think I understand your idea, but let's not worry about whether the Flame Listener's Clone can use Psychic Power while the original uses Flame Vortex."
"Even if it can, have you thought about the timing?"
Qiao Sang looked up from her book.
