Chapter 200: Battle in the Tower
Tian Sheng Zhan Kuang had already risen from the ground, Battle Axe swinging wildly as he roared, charging headlong toward the Five-Headed Dragon Beast.
"Ugly freak!"
"Your War狂 grandfather’s here!"
He slammed his axe into the oncoming Fearsome Head, shattering its attack, then lunged at the creature’s long, sinuous neck—only to be violently slammed back by another head’s brutal headbutt.
Stuffed Bun rolled desperately to the left, barely avoiding the dragon’s snapping maw, but still cried out in pain as burning saliva splashed onto his skin.
"That damn thing’s head is definitely stitched on with a Wyvern’s corpse—this corrosion? I know it too well."
Dodging another crushing stomp, he turned to glance at Singo, who was watching from afar, and cursed under his breath:
"Damn it, do something useful!"
"I’m out here risking my life while you’re just sitting back like a Hardcore Player playing the hero!"
Singo surveyed the chaos, his eyes narrowing. Stuffed Bun and Tian Sheng Zhan Kuang were being utterly dominated by the Five-Headed Dragon Beast—its hide thick as meat, armored in overlapping Scales, and nearly impervious to standard Arrow attacks unless they struck the vital spots.
"No Spellcaster… fighting monsters like this is a real pain."
After a tense pause, he saw it—five heads rising in unison, exposing their vulnerable Throat. His eyes lit up.
"Stuffed Bun—now!"
"Give me Dragon Roar!"
Singo had already used up his Dragon Roar for the day, its cooldown still active. But as another Crimson Scale Conqueror, Stuffed Bun could still unleash the ability—though the power was a fraction of what it would be with Dragon Mount Resonance.
"Seriously? You’re telling me what to do now?"
"Are you playing Pokémon or something?"
Stuffed Bun grumbled inwardly, but his body moved instantly. Without hesitation, he opened his mouth wide and unleashed the skill.
"ROOOOAAARRR!"
The roar erupted from deep within his Throat—so thunderous it echoed like a Red Dragon’s fury. The sheer Bloodline Suppression, amplified by Kai Xiusu’s innate Strength, froze the Five-Headed Dragon Beast mid-motion, its heads locked in a rigid, upward stare.
Singo swiftly drew a Black Arrow from his quiver, its shaft shimmering with a cold, eerie gleam. Cracked patterns etched into the shaft pulsed faintly. With one hand, he nocked the arrow, drew the Hunting Longbow to full tension, and aimed with a single, steady eye.
One breath.
Then—"Swoosh!"
The arrow tore through the air, screaming past the sound barrier.
And then—mid-flight, the arrow split.
Three projectiles shot apart, each streaking toward a different head, striking the Throat Area—where the skin was thin, unprotected by Scales.
The Spines pierced deep into the Fearsome Heads, tearing through the filthy, pulsing Vessels. Blood gushed.
Hunter’s Mark flared, its magical power flaring like a live wire, tearing open the wounds even further, shredding the flesh and bone beneath.
Three Blood Cascades erupted into the air.
The three Fearsome Heads thrashed wildly in midair, shaking violently—then collapsed, lifeless, hanging limp.
Though the Five-Headed Dragon Beast was a stitched-together Monster, each head had its own will. But Wagner’s Spell had linked their nervous systems together—pain was shared.
As the three heads died, the remaining two screamed in agonizing, shared torment.
"WOOOOOOOAAAAAA!"
Then—something chilling unfolded.
The two surviving heads snapped forward, biting off the severed heads with brutal force, jaws stretching impossibly wide. With a wet, gurgling gulp, they swallowed the corpses whole—then tried to devour another.
The creature’s mind had been consumed by an insatiable Craving for Consumption. It no longer recognized self. It would eat anything—even itself—for strength.
And it worked.
Singo saw his chance. He reached for another arrow—only to find his quiver empty.
"Damn it!"
His stock of Arrows had vanished in the heat of battle.
Stuffed Bun and Tian Sheng Zhan Kuang charged in from both sides, but the beast’s thick tail lashed out like a battering ram, sending both unprepared fighters flying.
The double-headed dragon swallowed its meal with a loud gurgle, then lifted its head, eyes locking onto Singo from afar. The milky, clouded irises glinted with a chilling intelligence—not quite beastly, but cunning.
It opened its mouth slightly.
From deep within its Throat, a wave of Freezing Cold seeped out.
Singo froze. That sensation… it felt familiar. Like a memory resurfacing.
"Frost Breath!" he shouted.
The two remaining heads exhaled in unison—frost-white breaths that swept across the ground, freezing everything in their path. Ice spread like a creeping web, crystallizing the floor, the walls, even the air itself.
If hit by that breath, a player would turn into an Ice Statue—lifeless, trapped, and all progress lost.
"Run!" Singo didn’t hesitate.
Behind him, Frost crept forward at terrifying speed, devouring the ground.
Stuffed Bun and Tian Sheng Zhan Kuang scrambled to their feet, coughing up blood, and sprinted after him—exhausted, drained, their abilities nearly gone. There was no choice but to flee.
"ROOOOOOOOAAARRRR!"
The two heads roared in unison, then charged through the doorway, their massive bodies smashing through the walls.
"We gotta lose it!"
"Or we’ll end up frozen solid and eaten!"
Stuffed Bun panted, his back already covered in a thin layer of frost.
The dragon’s claws slashed through the air, missing him by inches—once, twice, a near-miss that sent shivers down his spine.
Singo glanced down the Corridor, past the endless rows of Metal Doors—then froze.
Far ahead, in the distant wall, a massive hole—over ten meters high—gaped open.
Unlike the surrounding Laboratories, this Passage wasn’t a maze. It led straight to the center of the Tall Tower. To Wagner’s largest Experimental Arena.
Singo clenched his jaw.
"Take the risk! We go in!"
Stuffed Bun dodged another Frost Breath, barely escaping, and gasped, "Fine, fine—just don’t get me killed!"
"Three… two… one…"
"Go!"
At the last second, the three of them swerved—dodging the dragon’s claw strike—then plunged into the pitch-black, bottomless hole.
The beast lunged after them, its head stretching into the darkness—only to recoil violently, letting out a guttural, terrified gurgle.
It pulled back, claws scraping the edge, and let out a series of threatening roars, eyes blazing with fury.
"ROOOOAAARRR!"
Stuffed Bun collapsed against the wall, chest heaving, still gasping.
He turned to the hole, shouting defiantly:
"Ugly monster!"
"Come on in, if you dare!"
Outside, the two-headed dragon snarled, its face twisted in rage—yet it refused to step inside.
It stood at the edge, trembling, eyes wide with fear.
It wouldn’t enter.
Not even for food.
