Chapter 20: Three Major Benefits
Chapter 20: Three Major Benefits (Please Follow)
"Let me introduce myself—I'm Yan Hong!"
Yan Hong wrote her name on the blackboard.
"I was originally the homeroom teacher for Class 3, teaching Chinese. Starting today, I'll also be the homeroom teacher for the Elite Class."
"For the next year, we'll be learning together. I hope you all enjoy this journey."
Clapping erupted, led by Jiang Tao.
After finishing her speech, Yan Hong turned on the projector.
"The Elite Class gathers the top 50 students from our Second High School."
"You have access to the best teachers, with every subject taught by our finest instructors to ensure steady academic improvement."
"Additionally, as Elite Class students, you receive three exclusive benefits."
"First, an independent Martial Arts Training Hall—Principal Zhang already mentioned this. Only students ranked in the top 30 schoolwide can access it."
"Second, dining privileges. You'll receive a 20% discount on Nutritional Meals at the cafeteria."
"Third, the Grade Scholarship. Only students ranked in the top 50 qualify."
"Ranks 50–35: 10,000 Xia Kingdom Credits!"
"Ranks 34–20: 20,000 Credits!"
"Ranks 19–11: 30,000 Credits!"
"Ranks 10–4: 50,000 Credits each!"
"Top 3: 100,000 Credits each!"
"You heard that right—the scholarships have increased significantly compared to sophomore year. You'll receive your payments by noon today."
A table projected on the screen displayed the three benefits and scholarship amounts clearly.
As Yan Hong finished, murmurs spread through the classroom.
"The scholarship doubled! I'm 31st, so I'll get 20,000 Credits—that's a fortune!"
"Bro, I'll receive 30,000! The school's really stepping it up!"
Jiang Tao's eyes gleamed with excitement. Lin Qi's mind raced as he calculated furiously.
The Elite Class privileges were incredible. 20% off meals—saving 20 Credits per Nutritional Meal (100 Credits originally) meant 40 Credits daily, 280 weekly. Enough for two Physical Energy Capsules.
And the scholarship—45th place earned him 10,000 Credits. Equivalent to five sparring part-time jobs. More resources within reach.
"But don't celebrate too early."
"Being in the Elite Class doesn't mean security."
Yan Hong's stern gaze swept the room. "In three weeks, the Tianhai City high school joint monthly exam determines everything. Drop below 50th place, and you'll lose your Elite Class status—and all these benefits."
The atmosphere darkened. Students ranked around 40th shifted anxiously. Yang Lei's confidence vanished, replaced by tension. Once top-ten in Class 3, here he was dead last.
"As for the top students, your goal is to climb higher—not just surpass classmates, but dominate all senior students across Tianhai City."
Her gaze lingered on Qi Yuelin, Yu Jing, and Li Zhou—the current top three.
Even the elite now felt pressure.
"Good. A martial artist must always strive forward."
Yan Hong nodded approvingly. "Class dismissed. Those applying for Genius Loans, follow me for forms."
"Bro, this is your chance!" Jiang Tao urged as they left. Lin Qi nodded, joining Chen Zichuan to follow Yan Hong.
As head of the senior Chinese department, Yan Hong had a modest six-square-meter office. She retrieved two forms from her drawer.
"Fill these out."
While they wrote, Yan Hong observed, "You're not new to this. Both failed last time, but entering Elite Class boosts your approval chances."
Chen Zichuan and Lin Qi exchanged surprised glances.
"Genius Loans target students from financially struggling families. Your backgrounds check out—now we just need academic proof."
"Chen Zichuan climbed from 70th to 50th. Impressive."
"Lin Qi, you surged from 101st to 45th—56 places! Unheard of in our school's history!"
Lin Qi stood calmly. "Still 45th place. Nothing special."
"True", Yan Hong smiled. "Genius Loan approvals will accelerate now—within a week or two."
In the principal's office, Jiang Zhiguang reviewed their applications.
"Second-Class Genius Loan recommendation?" He chuckled. "Might as well aim high. Whether it passes matters less than applying."
He adjusted both forms, sending them forward.
"Hope our school finally nurtures a talent with awakened special abilities", he murmured, patting a barren flowerpot on his desk.
At the cafeteria, Lin Qi checked his phone—[Your Icbc account received 10,000 Credits at 12:02 PM today. Balance: 13,445.12].
"Scholarship confirmed!"
"Bro, nap at my training hall after lunch", Jiang Tao suggested. "You can train there too—plenty of space, and the teacher approved it."
"Sounds good."
