Chapter 20: Future SS-Rank Jutsu
Chapter 20: Future SS-Rank Jutsu
While Izayoi and Hinata Hyuga were busy accompanying Hanabi on a shopping trip,
beneath the roaring waterfall at Naka River near the Uchiha Clan grounds,
a hidden cave lay concealed. If a Hyūga clansperson had been present and activated their Byakugan, they would’ve noticed the cavern beneath the cascading water.
Inside the cave, deafening explosions erupted continuously, though the waterfall’s thunderous roar drowned them out.
Anyone touching the cliff walls surrounding the falls would’ve felt the tremors pulsing through the stone.
Blue light slashed through the darkness as a swirling blue-and-white sphere, resembling an inflating water balloon, rapidly expanded.
The volleyball-sized energy ball then hurtled into the depths.
Boom—
The explosion shattered the silence, sending shockwaves and debris flying.
Dust clouds dissipated instantly, swallowed by the gusts from the waterfall.
Moments later, another energy sphere emerged, plunging deeper into the shadows, triggering another violent detonation.
The cave had clearly been carved out by such repeated blasts.
“The core’s complete. Now I can start creating smaller spheres inside.”
Izayoi’s Shadow Clone stood at the cave’s illuminated entrance, reviewing the day’s progress.
He’d mastered the basics of the TV anime-original Super Hurricane Barrage—specifically, scaling the Rasengan up to nearly the size of the Great Ball Rasengan.
It had taken him two grueling years.
Now Izayoi understood why Naruto Uzumaki needed Shadow Clones to perform the Great Ball Rasengan after three years of training.
Without even mastering the single-handed Rasengan, controlling such a massive chakra mass while maintaining balance seemed impossible.
Even for Izayoi, refining his chakra control to this level had consumed two full years.
Merely gathering chakra into a large mass wasn’t particularly difficult.
The real hell lay in compressing vast quantities of chakra into an ultra-high-speed rotation.
Rasengan itself was already the pinnacle of Shape Transformation, rated an A-rank difficulty.
The Great Ball Rasengan easily sat between A and S rank.
No wonder S-rank techniques were called “ultimate jutsu”—ones you couldn’t master even with supreme effort or talent.
If this much effort was required for a single large sphere, creating five smaller ones inside it would rival Naruto’s refinement of Wind Release.
And infusing all five chakra natures simultaneously? The thought alone made his head throb.
The resulting power could only be described as SS-rank—beyond even Asura Ōtsutsuki’s reach.
But that impossibility became Izayoi’s goal.
His potential now surpassed Asura’s, who’d needed power granted by Otsutsuki Hagoromo.
When purple-level chakra control proved insufficient, he simply advanced his Chakra Control Talent Trait to golden rank.
Once he perfected the Super Hurricane Barrage, he’d have a trump card as reliable as Naruto’s Rasengan.
Any opponent, any threat—he could end it all with one perfect sphere.
Back at the waterfall’s edge, Izayoi’s Shadow Clone sat cross-legged, channeling chakra into another energy ball. This time, it didn’t fly outward.
He trained until his chakra ran dry, then dispersed into white mist.
Fatigue and experience flowed back to the original.
Meanwhile, the real Izayoi was feeding mochi balls to Hanabi, barely raising an eyebrow as the feedback hit him.
Hinata Hyuga, who’d been secretly watching him, noticed nothing amiss.
Since mastering Rasengan and starting development of the Super Hurricane Barrage, Izayoi rarely trained in person anymore.
Instead, he sent Shadow Clones into the cave while the original either trained with Hinata at abandoned training grounds or—like now—kept Hanabi entertained.
He was certain the Third Hokage had spied on him using the Crystal Ball technique.
Over these past two years, he’d fought Uchiha Sasuke every one or two weeks.
There was no way Hiruzen Sarutobi hadn’t noticed their unrestricted duels.
After all, Itachi Uchiha had reported to the Hokage before leaving Konoha, then confronted Danzō Shimura directly.
Izayoi almost wanted to activate his Byakugan to check for Anbu surveillance—except he couldn’t risk revealing his Byakugan abilities.
By now, he’d fine-tuned his Shadow Clones perfectly, keeping chakra expenditure and fatigue feedback within manageable limits.
After Hanabi finished her mochi balls, Izayoi resumed entertaining her—using shunshin to leap across rooftops, racing up trees, and skimming water surfaces.
Though Hanabi hadn’t begun formal training, watching Hinata Hyuga and Neji Hyuga’s battles—and observing Hinata’s training sessions with Izayoi—had left her determined to become strong and gentle like her sister, just as in the original story.
Besides her sweet tooth, Hanabi preferred Izayoi’s company over playing with peers her age, craving the rollercoaster thrill of flying through the air with him.
Once she reached the age to extract chakra and started training, she’d likely become even more attached.
“Bro, see you later!”
“Bye-bye!”
Waving goodbye to the clingy little sister after playing until dusk, Izayoi smiled and turned toward the market.
Instead of heading home, he bought ingredients and shunshined to the vast, empty Uchiha Clan grounds—now occupied solely by Uchiha Sasuke.
“You’re here.”
Sasuke stood in the yard, training attire soaked with sweat, eyes burning with challenge.
“Let’s eat first, then fight. Rest a bit,” Izayoi suggested, holding up grocery bags.
“Fine.”
Sasuke didn’t refuse.
As night fell, the two shared a hotpot meal on the veranda.
When midnight came, two small figures darted into the forest behind the clan estate, moving like arrows.
Thud! Thud! Thud!
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
The sounds of colliding bodies, falling weights, and projectiles echoed through the woods.
Boom!
A fiery red explosion lit the sky moments later, but the flames vanished as quickly as they’d appeared.
Half an hour later, the two emerged from the trees.
Moonlight illuminated their contrasting states—
Izayoi’s clothes remained spotless, while Sasuke’s were torn and scorched, his exposed skin crisscrossed with fresh, shallow scars.
Yet the weary boy’s eyes gleamed with satisfaction.
“I won again.”
Izayoi grinned at Sasuke. “Time to check your clan’s jutsu vault. Our deal?”
“Go ahead. There’s not much left anyway.” Sasuke shrugged indifferently.
After the Uchiha Clan’s destruction, the village had buried their bodies.
As compensation—or perhaps as a condition—all clan scrolls had been confiscated.
Even at home, only basic elemental jutsu scrolls remained.
Sasuke had asked the Third Hokage about their advanced techniques. The village hadn’t touched them—Itachi Uchiha had taken everything.
He didn’t mind the village taking the scrolls.
The Hokage had promised that once Sasuke became a ninja and grew strong enough to reclaim the Uchiha leadership, he could petition the village to retrieve the property deeds and jutsu archives.
For now, he lacked the strength to protect such treasures.
Izayoi knew Hiruzen had told the truth.
Besides secret techniques like Izanagi and Izanami, the Uchiha scrolls held little value compared to the power of a single elite Uchiha warrior.
Just like his own family’s inheritance.
Still, the Uchiha vault held practical value for Izayoi.
His Shape Transformation skills were exceptional, but his Nature Transformation was nearly nonexistent.
Mastering all five chakra natures would elevate his Nature Transformation enough to fuse them into the Super Hurricane Barrage.
For Wind Release, he could learn from Naruto’s methods in the original story. The other four natures would require personal study of jutsu scrolls or guidance from a Jōnin instructor after graduation.
Alternatively, there existed one shortcut to instantly attaining ultimate Nature Transformation…
Awakening the Rinnegan or Tenseigan!
