Chapter 2: The hell?!

Then it hit him. He must be dreaming, right? A real damn realistic dream, he’ll give it credit. But a dream.
There was no damn way he just woke up next to a skeleton.
As much as he wanted to gaslight himself into thinking that… the stench that penetrated his nostrils definitely wasn’t fake. Nor was the sensation of one of the bugs from earlier meandering across his leg. Disgusted, he smacked it away, his racing brain finally slowing down for a minute. His focus on the skeleton, he had paid little attention to his surroundings - other than the fact he wasn’t in his room anymore. But the real question… where was he? Scrambling, his eyes darted around the supposed room, but the lack of a suitable source of light further down the room made it harder to see. In this situation, all he could think of was how the room looked a little like some kind of tutorial room to a horror game. He laughed openly about that thought. A horror game? He really had lost it.
His calm fully regained, he started to look for an exit. He couldn’t stay here forever, however much his quaking body wanted to.
Not ceasing, his eyes searched relentlessly through the darkness until he located a small door the opposite side of the room. Cautiously approaching, he stayed light on his feet, ready for a sudden ambush or movement. Nothing. So when he eventually made his way to the door, it surprised him slightly that it was unlocked. Waiting would get him nowhere, so after a quick second of debate he pushed the door open and fell headfirst into a tall, slender man clad in black.
A slightly bemused expression played on his lips, and he smirked almost questioningly.
“Who are you?” His eyebrow raised in contempt
