Chapter 198: Staying at the Palace of Moving Flowers
Chapter 198: Staying at the Palace of Moving Flowers
"Don't worry, I've already sealed your meridians and qi flow. Once we get back to the palace, I'll light the Xianzi incense and feed you the Sunu pill. This measly poison from the Black Rat's Blood Breaking Needle will be purged in no time." Lianxing reassured Jiang Feng as she extracted the hidden weapon embedded in his body, stemming the bleeding, and applying pressure on his acupuncture points to temporarily treat the wound.
"I trust you," Jiang Feng nodded. "But actually..."
He did, in fact, have an antidote pill on him. Although it wasn't a panacea capable of curing all poisons, it could suppress the toxicity of the Black Rat's Blood Breaking Needle and buy him time to concoct a proper antidote.
However, before Jiang Feng could finish his sentence, he noticed that Yao Yue had already arrived by Lianxing's side.
"Sister," Lianxing said meekly.
Yao Yue glanced at Lianxing's arms wrapped around Jiang Feng and then looked up at her sister, "Is this what you meant by going to the river to clear your mind?"
Biting her lower lip, Lianxing hesitated but ultimately chose not to argue. "Jiang Gongzi was injured while saving me. I want to take him back to the Palace of Moving Flowers to treat his wounds."
Yao Yue nodded without objection and, after a moment's thought, offered her assistance. "Since you're not in a stable condition yourself, let me help support him."
At her words, Lianxing's head snapped up, her eyes narrowing as she fixed her sister with a scrutinizing gaze. Yao Yue met her stare without hesitation.
In the end, Lianxing relented, gently lowering Jiang Feng but still refusing to relinquish her hold on him entirely, opting to continue supporting his right arm.
A spark of light flashed in Yao Yue's eyes, but she refrained from commenting further, instead taking hold of Jiang Feng's other arm.
Despite the lack of verbal exchange between the sisters and the seemingly unchanged atmosphere, Jiang Feng's heart pounded wildly, and it took immense willpower to calm it.
He dared not inquire about the reason for the sisters' sudden appearance, nor could he reveal the antidote pill he carried.
However, there were some things he couldn't feign ignorance about, lest he face consequences later. With a bitter smile, Jiang Feng expressed his gratitude. "Thank you, ladies. Although I took a few hits, my ability to walk hasn't been affected."
Lianxing giggled, whispering, "But you can't channel your internal energy anymore, so how will you keep up with us on the way to the Palace of Moving Flowers?"
Jiang Feng was left dumbfounded. Damn, she had a point!
And so, with a beauty on each side, Jiang Feng was whisked away.
They navigated through the mountain forests, covering several dozen li before delving deeper into the ancient forests of Shennongjia and eventually arriving at a secluded valley nestled within a remote mountain range.
Xiu Yu Valley!
As they entered the valley, Jiang Feng beheld a breathtaking sight—a myriad of flowers in full bloom: chrysanthemums, peonies, roses, monthlies, plum blossoms, peach blossoms, orchids, and even mandrakes and camellias.
Flowers that should never have grown in the same place, let alone bloomed simultaneously, now flourished together in this valley.
The sky above was clear and cloudless, and the sunlight bathed the vibrant flowers in a golden hue, as if coating them with a layer of precious metal. Despite the autumnal season, the air held a spring-like warmth.
"Now I understand how the Palace of Moving Flowers got its name," Jiang Feng sighed in admiration. "There must be a hot spring flowing up from the depths of the earth, keeping Xiu Yu Valley warm even in the colder months. What a blessed place."
"Huh? How did you know about the hot spring in Xiu Yu Valley?" Lianxing asked curiously. "Do you also know why this place remains perpetually spring-like?"
Yao Yue, equally intrigued, turned to Jiang Feng. Although they were aware of the year-round spring-like climate and the presence of hot springs, they had never given much thought to the reasons behind these phenomena, assuming that the valley was simply a place where the essence of heaven and earth converged.
Lianxing blinked, and though she didn't know about this, Yao Yue pretended to calmly nod, "That's right."
"But this lava is usually blocked by thick layers of earth and rock, preventing it from reaching the surface." Jiang Feng explained, "However, sometimes there's a passage that connects directly to the ground, resulting in a sudden eruption, known as a volcanic eruption."
Lianxing's eyes lit up as she understood, nodding, "I've heard of volcanoes."
"Volcanoes are a more violent form of underground heat release. There's also a slower form, which is hot springs." Jiang Feng said, "There are numerous tiny fissures between the earth's crust and the surface, with underground water sources, and the lava heats up this water, which then flows to the surface."
"As a result, the entire area is heated by the underground water and hot springs. If this were a plain, the heat would quickly dissipate, but since this is a valley, the Xiu Yu Valley is warmer than the outside, and it will likely be even hotter in the summer. But come autumn and winter, it's incredibly comfortable."
"Indeed!" Lianxing looked at Jiang Feng with shining eyes, "You know so much!"
"I've just read a couple of extra books, that's all." Jiang Feng humbly replied.
"There's no need to be humble. Most people wouldn't be able to explain this phenomenon." Yao Yue added, and surprisingly, her tone was much gentler than expected.
It seemed that people naturally respected those with talent and ability. Jiang Feng had merely demonstrated a fraction of his knowledge, and he had already impressed both sisters.
What could Jiang Feng say to this?
"It was unintentional!"
"Palace Master!"
"Second Palace Master!"
Upon seeing Yao Yue and Lianxing return, four or five disciples of the Moving Flowers Palace flew towards them. Their eyes widened in shock when they saw Jiang Feng sandwiched between the two women.
Yao Yue and Lianxing usually kept their distance from men, and they had just fought off Wei Wuya's provocation. So, it was surprising to see them return so soon with a man in tow.
Could it be that Wei Wuya's provocation had opened their minds?
Hmm, this man's appearance and aura were actually quite impressive!
Jiang Feng looked at the approaching disciples of the Moving Flowers Palace. As expected, they were all women, ranging from young girls to middle-aged women. He didn't see any elderly nuns, but he couldn't be sure if they existed or simply hadn't made an appearance.
"Prepare a courtyard for our guest." Yao Yue instructed one of the women, "Have him stay at the Orchid Pavilion."
"Yes!" The woman bowed and hurried off to make the arrangements.
Lianxing's eyes flickered, but she remained silent. Although the Orchid Pavilion was closer to Yao Yue's residence, it wasn't an issue for her.
As they entered the Moving Flowers Palace, Yao Yue and Lianxing no longer used their light martial arts skills but continued to support Jiang Feng, who was still injured and suffering from poison.
When they arrived at the Orchid Pavilion, they found that the courtyard and rooms had already been prepared.
Yao Yue and Lianxing didn't plan to personally attend to Jiang Feng's needs, so Yao Yue assigned a female disciple to care for him, and then the two sisters left.
Jiang Feng turned to the disciple, a young woman in her twenties, who smiled gently and bowed, "This servant, Huayunu, greets Jiang Gongzi."
