Chapter 195: The Harvest of Wolf Valley
Chapter 195: The Harvest of Wolf Valley
2017-09-25
Zhao Gang's Purple Qi Arrives from the East, a move he mastered after cultivating the Ascending Dragon Energy Art.
The primary effect of this move is to unleash his inner strength, temporarily enhancing Lu HaiKong's power and speed, in short, a boost to his combat prowess.
During their previous encounter, the Wolf King had already figured out Lu HaiKong's abilities, understanding the attacks and speed he could unleash.
But when Lu HaiKong suddenly launched an attack, the Wolf King couldn't react in time. Although it managed to dodge, Lu HaiKong's strike still severed its forelimbs.
The Wolf King relied on its speed, and with its forelimbs gone, it was practically disabled. Lu HaiKong, seizing the advantage, relentlessly pursued and finished it off with a few more axe swings.
"You have successfully slain the Wolf King of Wolf Valley. You gain 200,000 personal professional experience, 50,000 allocable skill experience, and a Silver Chest."
"Congratulations on conquering Wolf Valley. You gain 1 million personal professional experience and 200,000 allocable skill experience."
"Your profession, 'Bandit King,' has leveled up to level 3, and your basic attributes have received a significant boost."
...
At the moment Lu HaiKong defeated the Wolf King, multiple system messages flooded in one after another. Simultaneously, Lu HaiKong felt a warmth throughout his body. As his profession level increased, he was fully healed, and the exhaustion from using Purple Qi Arrives from the East and the mental fatigue disappeared.
To be honest, Lu HaiKong couldn't always understand how a mysterious force nourished him when his profession level increased. Why, under the influence of this force, could he fully recover from any injury, no matter how severe, as long as it wasn't a missing limb? Even mental exhaustion seemed to fade away.
Of course, Lu HaiKong didn't dwell on this mystery for too long. After defeating the Wolf King, he called in the Black Wind Bandits waiting outside to clean up the battlefield.
Having been the boss for a long time, he had developed a habit of always having a group of underlings by his side, a dozen or so, whenever he went out. It just felt more convenient that way.
Lu HaiKong was quite interested in the resources of Wolf Valley, but the wolf corpses scattered around didn't seem to yield any loot. Could it be that after all their hard work, they only got a Silver Chest and nothing else? That didn't seem right!
With this doubt in mind, Lu HaiKong ventured deeper into Wolf Valley, to the place where the Wolf King had emerged. He was certain there would be unexpected rewards within.
With this thought, Lu HaiKong stepped into the depths of Wolf Valley, and soon, he heard a chorus of young, wild cries. Intrigued, he quickened his pace and took a closer look.
Indeed, in a nest made of hay deep within Wolf Valley, dozens of tiny wolf cubs, their eyes barely open, were playing and frolicking.
"Wolf Cubs? What use are they? I don't think the mountain camp needs wolves. Hmm, this little one is interesting."
A small, silver-white creature caught Lu HaiKong's attention. It was only the size of a fist, covered in shimmering silver-white fur, looking adorable. Its fur reminded Lu HaiKong of the Wolf King he had just defeated. If he wasn't mistaken, this little one was the Wolf King's offspring.
Lu Haikong subconsciously used his Detection Technique to examine the little wolf cub, but the skill proved ineffective, revealing only a series of question marks and providing no useful information.
He then checked the other cubs, and all their information was readily available, except for this silver-white cub. The rest were ordinary wolf cubs.
Upon seeing this, Lu Haikong's eyes lit up. He had just been forced to slay a Wolf King, and now a little wolf cub had been sent his way. It seemed like fate intended for him to become a Wolf Rider.
Lu Haikong approached the cub, picking it up. Despite its tiny size and undeveloped teeth, the cub was fierce. Sensing a strange presence, it opened its mouth, ready to bite Lu Haikong, who easily knocked it out with a head pat.
Holding the little cub, Lu Haikong was delighted. It was adorable, and despite the head pat, it showed no signs of compromise, sniffing and ready to fight.
This wild and spirited cub was incredibly charming, and with the right nurturing, it could grow as powerful as its father, making it an excellent mount. The only drawback was the cub's wild nature, which might make it challenging to tame.
But the confident Lu Haikong ignored this concern. He had taken a liking to the cub and decided to take it with him. What couldn't he, Lu Haikong, accomplish in this world?
Carrying the cub, now named 'Silver Moon' by Lu Haikong, he explored the depths of Wolf Valley, feeling there was more to discover.
Sometimes, instincts can be irrational, and indeed, at the valley's deepest point, Lu Haikong found a treasure chest. It was not the same type as the ones from his previous draws, but similar to the first chest he obtained from the bandits, only more advanced.
Holding the little cub, Lu Haikong spotted the chest and realized his exploration of Wolf Valley was nearly complete. He picked up the chest and returned to the Wolf King, retrieving the Silver Chest it had dropped. He intended to thoroughly inspect his findings from this trip.
Lu Haikong opened the chest from the valley's depths first. Inside was a stack of neatly arranged items resembling professional certifications. He picked one up and was pleasantly surprised.
Wolf Herder Professional Certificate
Usage Conditions: Master Basic Herding Skill, Strength greater than 20
Wolf Herder Professional Description: An ancient profession of dancing with wolves. Live and sleep with them, sharing a deep connection. Can ride wolves in combat to defend the homeland and utilize wolf packs for herding.
A simple introduction, but it excited Lu Haikong.
Clearly, the Wolf Herder profession was a versatile skill, aiding in both herding and combat.
If Lu Haikong had a team of Wolf Herders, the safety of the grasslands would be greatly enhanced. However, he noticed there were only ten certificates, indicating he'd need to return to Wolf Valley frequently to obtain more.
