Chapter 195: The Happy House of Mew
Chapter 195: The Happy House of Mew
Returning to Euldrand City.
Queen Aline, now aware of the situation with the World Tree, welcomed Jing He and his companions with the same grandeur reserved for "Aura Warriors."
Dinner.
Standing on the balcony, Jing He gazed into the distance at the World Tree, its lush and vibrant canopy shrouded in mist. He marveled at the beauty of nature and the wonders of the world.
In a nutshell, this is the 'Aura Power,' Lucario, who was lounging on the railing, explained to Jing He, sharing all the knowledge about Aura that Alain had once taught him.
To be honest, Lucario wasn't the best teacher. He dumped all the information, regardless of its complexity, in one go. Fortunately, Jing He wasn't an ordinary student. If he didn't understand something right away, he could always take notes and come back to it later. As a psychologist, he was particularly skilled at memorizing and processing information.
"It's basically like the Force and Qi. Aura is with me, just like the Force is with me," Jing He muttered to himself.
"Rao?"
"It's nothing," Jing He waved it off, closed his eyes, and centered himself. A unique Aura wave spread out from him, like a radar, revealing the various sizes and distinct characteristics of Aura signatures in the darkness. With more practice, he would get used to it. Who knows, maybe in a few years, he could even form an Aura Sphere.
"What about you? Have you decided what you want to do next?" Jing He asked.
Thanks to his guidance, Lucario had improved significantly. At the very least, he was gradually moving past his past traumas.
Lucario was taken aback by the question. He slowly stood up and looked down at the entire city of Euldrand. After a long pause, he finally spoke.
Not yet, but I think... I should protect this kingdom.
It was a responsibility and an honor.
Jing He smiled, unsurprised by Lucario's decision.
"If you get bored, you can always go out and explore. If you want to find Mew, it should be able to take you wherever you want. You could also come stay in Hoenn for a while."
"Rao!"
Lucario nodded vigorously, his eyes gleaming. He leaped off the balcony and swiftly darted through the city, eager to see the castle that Alain had sacrificed his life to protect.
"Tch."
Jing He clicked his tongue. What a great Pokemon. If it worked at the cafe, it would be a real asset.
"What are you thinking about?"
A soft voice came from behind him. Turning around, he saw Cynthia holding two desserts, seemingly torn between which one to choose.
Jing He chuckled and said, "Eating something cold when it's chilly outside isn't the best idea."
"Hmm."
Cynthia nodded and walked over to Jing He, handing him the ice cream cake.
"Here, you can have it."
Jing He couldn't help but laugh.
"Thanks a lot."
Boom.
In the night sky, the festival's colorful fireworks burst into the air, signaling the end of the celebration and praying for a bountiful harvest in the coming year. The vibrant lights illuminated their eyes, casting a beautiful glow.
"Beautiful," Cynthia sighed.
"Indeed, it is."
"Did I hear that your cafe opened?" Cynthia suddenly asked.
"Ah, yes."
Jing He nodded and smiled. "Next time you're in Hoenn, I'll treat you to some coffee."
Cynthia pursed her lips; she didn't particularly enjoy bitter things, but since it was from Jing He...
"Sure."
Jing He, however, had more on his mind. If Cynthia could help promote his cafe, the results would be incredible. He couldn't help but imagine the scene of Cynthia working at the cafe.
Cough, cough.
"You two."
Another voice joined them. It was Caitlin.
With his awakened Aura Power, Jing He's perception of Psychic abilities had become much sharper.
"Come and watch the fireworks."
Hearing the voice, Cynthia smiled and waved at Caitlin.
"Hmph!"
Caitlin huffed, wrinkled her nose, and then obediently ran to Cynthia's side, hugging her arm.
"Don't give me a chance to challenge you!" she muttered under her breath.
Jing He rubbed his temples. This little hedgehog.
If she pushes it, I'll call Mewtwo, and she'll learn what it means to be clueless about Psychic abilities.
The next day.
Mew's residence at the top of the World Tree.
"Mew~ Mew~ (^^)"
Mew played happily with Glaceon, Gengar, and Dratini. Gengar suddenly popped out of the shadows and made a silly face at Mew.
"Gengar!"
"Mew~ Mew~"
Mew froze for a moment, then burst into even more laughter, rolling around in the air.
"Gengar?"
Gengar scratched his head, sipped his milk tea, and looked puzzled. Is this little cat a bit off?
"Ooh~~"
At Jing He's signal, Glaceon went to Mew to learn how to use Aurora Veil.
"Mew?"
Mew blinked its eyes and raised a hand, conjuring a transparent barrier.
But the Ice Six-Tail shook its head. This was "Reflect," and clearly not what it wanted to learn.
"Mew~"
Mew thought Ice Six-Tail was playing with it and started spinning in the air.
Clearly, Mew wasn't a good teacher.
But Ice Six-Tail didn't get discouraged. It had some experience communicating with Mew.
On the other side, Jing He was with his Pokemon: Forretress, Bastiodon, Metagross, Garchomp, Lucario, and others. They were setting up Mew's "Mew Happy House."
Since everything was custom-made by Arceus, assembling it wasn't difficult. The house was equipped with all sorts of electronic devices like game consoles, TVs, and phones. Internet wasn't necessary since everything was either single-player games or downloaded TV shows.
As for power, the World Tree wasn't short of Electric-type Pokemon, and Mew itself could use Electric-type moves to recharge.
In addition, there were Mew slides, Mew cradles, and other baby toys. After all, no matter how many years Mew had lived, its mind was like that of a small child.
Mew's favorite was a little wheel where it could run around like a hamster.
Of course, with all these things, snacks were a must. The mini-fridge and snack rack were stuffed to the brim.
The goal was to turn Mew into a little house cat. Jing He didn't want it to run into Mewtwo and undo the "path of enlightenment" he had carefully built for Mewtwo.
Sure enough, as soon as the "Mew Happy House" was assembled, Mew eagerly climbed inside. It skillfully grabbed a soda from the fridge and a bag of snacks from the rack, then settled on the soft little sofa to watch "Bubble Squirrel Adventures."
This made Jing He wonder if Mew was just messing with him.
In Eterna City, Jing He treated everyone, including Pokemon, Arceus, and Cynthia, to a meal as a thank you for their help. The meal almost bankrupted him, mainly because Pokemon like Bastiodon and Garchomp ate so much. Jing He had underestimated their appetites. Fortunately, this was a business expense, so he kept the receipts.
After the meal, the group relaxed and chatted, sharing their recent experiences and insights. Jing He finally got to see Jirachi's dual-egg cell, which had an "evolutionary morphological anomaly." He provided a more precise diagnosis and some advice.
The usually arrogant Jirachi became much more docile when it came to her Pokemon.
"Maybe you've been exposing the dual-egg cell to too much Psychic energy?"
This wasn't Jirachi's intention, but she did have trouble controlling her vast Psychic powers. Fortunately, the dual-egg cell's condition wasn't severe, and it should be fine after evolving.
For the psychological aspect, Jing He recommended more rest and relaxation.
Later, Arceus decided to explore the area around the World Tree for any rare minerals. With Mew's permission, he could get close to the World Tree, though he couldn't go too deep without facing the Three Pillars' rejection. The best way to enter the World Tree was to have Mew take you in. For now, only Jing He had that privilege.
Meanwhile, the Pokemon were training and socializing in the castle's courtyard. For example, Gengar and Garchomp were huddled in a corner, watching "Bubble Squirrel Adventures" on a screen, laughing like fangirls. Ice Six-Tail and Cynthia's Eevee were practicing "Iron Tail," the clanging sounds making Jing He worry about the future. Meanwhile, Minior and Manaphy had become friends, and Minior wondered if they were distant cousins.
The busiest was Forretress, who was learning weapon techniques from Lucario and following Zekrom's methods for physical training. Sometimes, Jing He couldn't help but imagine Forretress with a body full of bulging muscles. Thankfully, Forretress was strong but hadn't shown any signs of that yet.
As the sun set, the group took a walk around Eterna City, enjoying the afterglow of the festival.
Overall, the day was not too busy but quite fulfilling.
On Tuesday, the weather was clear. Mew didn't come to bother Jing He, confirming that the little one was thoroughly enjoying the games and TV shows.
"Feels like I'm corrupting a child."
But enriching its life and keeping it from feeling lonely was a success. After all, if Mew wasn't playing these, it would find something else to do.
With Mew's state confirmed, Jing He and the others prepared to leave and return home.
