Chapter 194: You Owe Me Five Billion!
Chapter 194: You Owe Me Five Billion!
"Impressive."
Just as Sag's laughter rang out, a voice of admiration echoed from a cell diagonally across from him. Turning his head, Sag saw a solitary figure sitting within that cell.
A man dressed in Impel Down's uniform and wearing a large military hat sat on a stone platform in the cell, watching Sag with keen interest. "Do you have a particular expertise in killing?"
Sag laughed heartily, "You have a good eye! This set of fist techniques I possess can kill anything!"
The North Star Divine Fist was originally an assassination style, a killer technique that had reached the pinnacle of understanding the human body. When it came to the simplest and fastest methods of killing, one could say that Sag had achieved mastery, if not perfection.
Yet, to be seen through in such a manner…
This individual seemed rather formidable himself.
Moreover, he gave off a sharply incisive aura.
"A swordsman?" Sag inquired.
The man in the military hat chuckled softly, "To be able to kill anything is truly remarkable. I'm sure you've taken the lives of countless others. My name is Shiliew, and I am the warden of this Impel Down. You seem like a capable fellow. How about we cooperate?"
"I don't have the ability to get you out of here, and…"
Sag glanced at him and said, "I already have someone like you on my crew."
This guy seemed overly fond of killing, but Sag himself was not a maniac.
He killed when it was necessary for his plans, and this individual appeared to be the type who would test his blade on people, which did not align with his principles.
Aside from that, he already had someone like this swordsman.
Although he had only glanced at him a few times, Sag could confirm that, based on his aura, this man was likely of the same type as Lily, emphasizing speed in their sword techniques.
However, his strength was even greater.
But Lily would eventually catch up in that regard.
Furthermore, Lily had a more refined and aesthetically pleasing appearance.
Of course, Sag was willing to accommodate others, as long as they obeyed his orders.
This kind of person was not likely to be obedient, and there was a possibility that they would kill and then defect at the first sign of disagreement, so there wasn't much need for that.
"Is that so? What a pity. I had thought to cooperate and bide our time, as we would eventually find a way out. However, with just you alone, there's no way to escape from this Impel Down," Shiliew said in a deep voice.
"Then I won't trouble you to bother with me. I don't have the time to waste here," Sag replied, his interest waning.
Wait?
Wait for whom?
He did have an impression of that, as that was how Teach had risen to power. It wouldn't be long before he could get out of here.
But why do that?
He had agreed to cooperate with Teach, so was that how they were supposed to collaborate?
Did he need that idiot Teach to come to his rescue?
That was a joke!
"Hey, is there any food here?" Sag asked.
"There's none on the sixth level, but there's a guard room on the fifth level."
Shiliew pointed upwards, "If you need supplies, you can only go to the fifth level. However, don't wander about aimlessly. First, you must disable the surveillance in this place, or you will be discovered."
"That kind of thing…"
Sag glanced left and right, and soon his eyes fell on the surveillance Den Den Mushi located at a wall corner not far from him.
The sixth level, while seemingly endless at a glance, was not actually that large.
After all, there weren't truly that many individuals whom the World Government wanted to erase from existence, so the number of cells was limited.
However, his current location happened to be in a blind spot that the Den Den Mushi couldn't see, and if he moved around in the vicinity, he would undoubtedly be discovered.
"I don't want to be found out right now."
Sag glared at the Den Den Mushi, and a mysterious surge of Haki spiked within his eyes, striking the Den Den Mushi's vital point.
"Sky Splitting Eye Strike!"
Bang! Bang! Bang!
All the Den Den Mushi within his line of sight burst open, scattering like fireworks.
It was similar to the principle of Haki-enhanced voice, but this time, he had used his eyes to execute the technique.
The death struggle hadn't been without value.
Especially after being frozen for three days, constantly hovering at the brink of death, exerting effort to maintain his will, and repeatedly attempting to break free…
Unlike that fellow who seemed to have been frozen for a long time and could only break free with external help, Sag had done it himself, without a moment of laxness.
This greatly enhanced his willpower.
In the past, he would have had to open his mouth and use Haki-enhanced voice, but now, he could even use his eyes for it.
From now on, if he glared at someone weaker, they would explode just from that.
"Thanks, let's drink together if we have the chance."
Sag waved at Shiliew and walked forward from this cell towards the sixth level.
The sixth level was where that massive elevator was located, and for now, it seemed like the only path available, as he hadn't discovered any others.
But it was hard to say.
What if there were surveillance devices or facilities inside that could alert others to the use of the elevator?
Then he would be actively inviting attention.
"Sag, huh?"
A vein popped out on Crocodile's temple as he glared at Sag, "I've told you, don't call me 'Old Sha'!"
The man imprisoned in this cell was none other than Sag's former partner—the former Warlord of the Sea, Crocodile.
After his capture in Alabasta, he was sent to Impel Down, along with several of his subordinates.
"You've got some nerve!" Sag couldn't help but feel irritated seeing this man.
"What happened to our partnership back in Alabasta?! Oh, right! You got defeated, lay there, and ended it all with a nonchalant 'whatever'!"
"You owe me five billion berries! Five billion!"
Sag grit his teeth. "I lost five billion berries because of our partnership! I thought you were at least a bit better than that firebird, but it turns out I was wrong! He gave the intel when he said he would, and he let me invest when he said he would."
"I lost my pants investing in you!"
"Don't joke about this! Didn't you take over Rain Base? I even read about it in the newspaper!"
Crocodile retorted angrily, "That five billion berry deal is obviously null and void now."
"It's null and void because you ended the partnership! Rain Base wasn't yours anymore when I took it over; it was only fair! But the five billion berries you promised me, you still owe me!"
Sag started calculating, "With a 40% interest rate, you'll owe me seven billion berries by next year when our partnership was supposed to take place!"
"Are you loan sharking me?" Crocodile narrowed his eyes at Sag.
"Whatever, I've lost interest in the sea anyway. It doesn't matter how much I owe you; I'll only pay up once I get out of here," Crocodile said indifferently.
"Are you deliberately showing up to annoy me?!' Sag clicked his tongue. "If I had the keys, I would've taught you a lesson about escaping!"
He couldn't break this cage, and moreover, this man seemed to have sunk into a state of depression, appearing ready to spend the rest of his life in prison.
Sag lost even more interest in him.
He favored those who would never sink into despair, no matter the circumstances. Otherwise, back in the Devil's Triangle, he wouldn't have said that Moria wasn't qualified yet.
"Are you escaping by yourself?"
Crocodile paused, "That might be a bit difficult. The current warden, Magellan, is not an easy opponent, and you seem rather weak."
"Don't be ridiculous," Sag retorted irritably. "If you were like me, you wouldn't just be weak, you'd be dead already!"
That was just like him; someone like Crocodile, when faced with Garp, Aokiji, or Kizaru, would have been killed on the spot!
"..."
Crocodile pulled at the corner of his mouth and glanced up and down at Sag, "However, if you truly have the ability, I'd like to see how you escaped Impel Down. You're not a Devil Fruit user, nor do you have the Wafu Wafu no Mi."
The Golden Lion's prison break from twenty years ago had made the newspapers, although no one remembered it now, and the news had been heavily suppressed at the time.
But as a pirate, especially one who used his brain, he still remembered the incident.
While he didn't know the full story, he could guess how the Golden Lion had managed to escape.
It was by severing the sea prism stone shackles binding his feet and using the Wafu Wafu no Mi's flying ability.
If he could get out, it would create an even bigger sensation.
"Don't use that elevator, or Impel Down will detect you," Crocodile said. "It's best to avoid a confrontation with Magellan. I know your body techniques are excellent, and once you get out, the Sea Kings won't be able to do anything to you."
"Am I supposed to avoid a confrontation?"
Sag scoffed, "Who am I supposed to avoid confronting? You're just afraid of this and that, which is why you've sunk to your current state!"
The plan was a plan, but if something unexpected happened and he was discovered, Sag was prepared.
So what if it came to a fight!
Being afraid and hesitant was the real sign of weakness!
Those who possessed Haki but were still timid wouldn't be very formidable!
He even dared to clash with an Admiral, so what could possibly make him avoid a confrontation?
"This is it!"
Ignoring Crocodile, Sag took two steps forward, stopped at a certain position, looked up, and measured his bearings. He then jumped up and, while in the air, swirled his legs to create a few smoke rings before throwing a punch at the ceiling.
The stone material was very hard, not the usual type of rock layer, and it was also quite thick. If it were just pure Haki, shattering this ceiling would likely be impossible due to the massive amount of Haki required.
However, for Sag, it was not a problem.
Because he could see the acupoints, the acupoints of all things.
This spot on the ceiling was the weakest part of all the rock layers.
By striking the acupoint and using Haki to shatter it...
Boom!!
Smoke and dust billowed out from the spot Sag had punched, carrying with it a shower of falling rocks.
That layer of relatively weak ceiling had been punched through by Sag, and at the moment the hole appeared, he immediately used Moon Step to leap up and into a strange, narrow passageway.
"Hmm?"
Sag looked left and right, "What kind of place is this? A passageway? Isn't this supposed to be a prison?"
He had some impression of Impel Down from his memory, with all the different levels, and there weren't supposed to be any passageways.
But his current location was indeed a passageway.
This passageway led to a dead end in the back, so he could only move forward.
When he reached the corner, he saw a door, which he kicked open, and his eyes lit up.
Inside, there was a large stockpile of food!
Various vegetables, fruits, alcoholic drinks, and even a refrigerator could be seen!
"Excellent!"
Sag walked over, took an apple out of his cloth bag, and ate it without even chewing, then opened the refrigerator and took out the stored meat inside.
He didn't even bother that the meat was raw and took a bite directly.
Raw meat just tasted bad; it didn't mean it couldn't be eaten.
As for getting sick...
With his physique, coupled with Life Return and his North Star Divine Fist, he had never worried about falling ill.
He had never been sick a day in his life.
Eating was far more important than those concerns.
He was starving.
The meat in the refrigerator was quickly devoured by him.
After finishing the meat, he picked up a bottle of alcohol, and without even bothering to open the cork, he pushed it in with his thumb and poured the contents directly into his mouth, all while grabbing some bread and vegetables with his free hand.
The food in this place, which seemed to be a food warehouse, rapidly diminished under Sag's almost shadow-like movements, as he stuffed everything into his mouth.
Just as he picked up a fruit and was about to put it in his mouth, he suddenly paused.
Because the moment he picked it up, the fruit suddenly transformed.
