Chapter 193: Anko Mitarashi [27]
Chapter 193: Anko Mitarashi [27]
Upon learning that Anko was one of Orochimaru's disciples, Kakashi lost interest.
After reporting the situation in Lou Lan to Feng Ye, he returned to his room alone, but he deliberately embellished the details, letting Lin understand that there seemed to be something more than a superficial relationship between Feng Ye and the Queen of Lou Lan.
And so...
For the next few days, Kakashi was in charge of all the household chores.
"So..."
"If you have any questions in the future, feel free to come to me for guidance."
After Kakashi left, Feng Ye continued to speak to Anko, "But there are a few requirements if you wish to continue training with me. First, you must control your diet and refrain from snacking indiscriminately..."
Anko widened her eyes in surprise. "Huh?! Why?"
[Of course, it's because if you don't pay attention to your diet, you'll end up becoming Anko 'Sweet Potato' Mitarashi] Feng Ye mocked in his mind, but on the surface, he remained calm and explained, "Indulging in too many snacks will burden your body's growth. A disciplined diet is a must for any aspiring ninja."
"Uh..."
Anko hesitated, looking conflicted.
Feng Ye glanced at her and asked, "What's wrong? Is it too difficult?"
"No, it's not difficult!" Anko quickly shook her head, intimidated by Feng Ye's aura.
Seeing Anko looking a little dejected, Lin couldn't help but smile gently and say, "It's true that eating too many snacks isn't good for you. Listening to Feng Ye is the right thing to do."
"Okay..." Anko mumbled, her head hanging low.
In her heart, she pondered if sneaking a little snack would be alright.
But then she heard Feng Ye continue in a calm tone, "If I catch you sneaking snacks, it will be considered going against my instructions, and you will be punished."
As he spoke, Feng Ye snapped his fingers. Chakra burst from his fingertip, creating a loud snap that sounded like a whip cracking through the air.
Gulp!
Anko swallowed her saliva, a little afraid as she looked at Feng Ye. She felt that he seemed much stricter than Orochimaru.
"Secondly, your sleep schedule should be as regular as possible."
Feng Ye took a sip of tea and said, "Going forward, I will apply to have you transferred to Kakashi's team. You will temporarily follow Kakashi on missions. During missions, your sleep schedule can be adjusted according to the task at hand. When you're not on a mission, you must come here to train at 1 p.m. sharp every day."
"That's too tiring! I don't want to!" Anko's face fell, and she slumped onto the table, as if she had lost all hope.
Feng Ye smiled gently and said, "Tiring? How can one become stronger without putting in effort? With your current strength, you can't even beat a five-year-old child."
"Impossible!" Anko immediately retorted.
She knew that her strength wasn't exceptional, and the gap between her and Feng Ye was surely vast, but there was no way she couldn't even beat a five-year-old kid.
"Don't you believe me?" Feng Ye smiled faintly and said, "Then follow me."
As he spoke, Feng Ye stood up and walked outside.
Anko puffed out her cheeks. She admitted that Feng Ye was stronger than her, and she could also accept that Lin was superior, but the idea that she couldn't even beat a five-year-old was simply ridiculous.
A moment later...
Feng Ye led Anko through two small courtyards and into a spacious backyard.
"Teacher."
In the small courtyard, Itachi Uchiha, who had been training, paused and took a slight breath before greeting Feng Ye respectfully.
Feng Ye smiled slightly and asked, "During the time I was away, did you slack off in your training?"
Itachi replied seriously, "I've been following the training regimen you set for me without fail."
"Good. Then let's see the fruits of your labor." Feng Ye nodded and turned to Anko, saying, "This is my disciple, Itachi. He is currently five years old. If you can defeat him, you can set your own training schedule from then on."
"Really?!" Anko's eyes lit up, thinking he was joking.
Feng Ye maintained a calm expression and said, "Yes, really."
"That's fantastic!" Anko grinned and took out a kunai, twirling it between her fingers as she approached Itachi. "Are you Feng Ye's disciple? I'm a year older than you, so I'll let you make the first move."
Itachi turned to look at Feng Ye.
Feng Ye walked over, placed a finger on Itachi's body, and channeled a strand of chakra, dispelling the fatigue from his previous training. He then nodded at Itachi and said, "Give it your all. Don't hold back because I'm here. Make sure you don't lose."
"Yes," Itachi replied respectfully, then turned his gaze back to Anko, his eyes now calm and focused.
Feng Ye moved to the side and sat down, watching the two in the center of the yard with a relaxed expression.
Itachi Uchiha, age five.
Anko Mitarashi, age ten.
In truth, during this period, Itachi Uchiha had already attained the skill level of a genin, but in terms of strength, agility, and chakra control, he should have been inferior to Anko, who was five years his senior.
However, Feng Ye predicted that Itachi had a much higher chance of winning.
There was no particular reason for this.
It was simply because he was Itachi Uchiha.
Whoosh! Whoosh!!
After observing Anko for a few seconds, Itachi suddenly sprang into action. He threw a shuriken with pinpoint accuracy, sealing off all of Anko's escape routes.
Without hesitation, she leaped backward, her kunai dancing in her hands to deflect some of the shuriken, while she nimbly dodged the rest.
But in the next moment, Itachi rushed towards her, his kunai aimed straight at her.
"A close-quarters battle, huh..."
A confident smile appeared on Anko's face as she met his attack with her kunai.
Clang! Clang! Clang!!
Sparks flew as their kunai clashed.
After about a minute of intense combat, Itachi leaped backward, landing a short distance away.
"What's the matter? Running out of steam already? I'm just getting started," Anko said, a smirk playing on her lips.
But Itachi maintained a calm gaze.
"You've already lost."
"Huh?"
Anko was taken aback for a moment before she suddenly realized that several explosive tags had been placed on the ground around her, one of them right beneath her feet.
When did he do that?!
Anko's eyes widened in shock.
Feng Ye stood up, clapped his hands, and turned to Itachi with a look of praise. "Well done. Keep up the training."
"Yes, teacher," Itachi replied respectfully and proceeded to walk back to his previous training spot.
Anko stood there, still a little dazed, staring at the explosive tag at her feet as she replayed the close-quarters battle with Itachi in her mind. Something about it seemed off.
Swish!
Feng Ye walked over, his finger trailing an arc of light that sliced through the air and effortlessly removed the explosive tag that had been stuck to the sole of her foot.
"Let's go," he said, starting to walk away.
Anko, struggling to accept her defeat, hurried after him.
"Still feeling a bit sore about losing?" Feng Ye glanced at Anko and smiled.
Anko puffed out her cheeks. "I... I just got careless!"
"In a real battle, a moment of carelessness can cost you your life," Feng Ye said calmly. "Carelessness is a sign of insufficient strength."
"Then give me another chance," Anko said. "Use only one finger on your left hand. Keep your body and right hand still. If I can take this shuriken from your hand, I win, deal?"
As he spoke, he placed a shuriken in the palm of his right hand.
"You're the one who suggested this..." Anko said, her eyes narrowing as she assessed the situation. A smile slowly spread across her face.
Swish!
In the next instant, she flashed past Feng Ye, her hand shooting out to grab the shuriken from his palm.
Feng Ye's expression remained unchanged. His left index finger moved like a phantom, landing on her forehead and halting her movement.
"Ugh... ah..." Anko's head jerked back, her body arching as she displayed the flexibility typical of a young ninja. At the same time, her left pinky finger reached for the shuriken in Feng Ye's palm.
Feng Ye's index finger flicked off her forehead and landed on her waist, lifting her off the ground.
Anko's body flew upward, spun in the air twice, and then fell behind him, landing awkwardly on her feet.
Swish!!
Not one to give up, she pounced from behind, her arms wrapping around him in an embrace as she tried to snatch the shuriken from both sides.
Feng Ye remained immobile, his left hand shooting out from under his right armpit. His finger landed on her chest, pushing her away, and she flew backward, landing several meters away.
"That speed... it's almost unnatural," Anko muttered, a hint of a headache forming. But then her eyes lit up as an idea struck her. "If I can force you to move, I win, right?"
As soon as the words left her mouth, she began forming hand seals at incredible speed.
"Fire Style! Dragon Fire Technique!"
Buzz!
A scorching flame burst forth, racing towards Feng Ye's back.
Feng Ye remained facing forward, his expression unchanged. His left index finger emitted a faint lightning glow, and then he casually snapped his finger.
Swish!!
A silver whip of lightning lashed out, tearing through the flames and shooting forward. It flew in a straight line, all the way to the Hokage Monument, where it sliced through the air above the statues.
Anko stood frozen, then slowly turned her head to watch as, in the distance, a small piece of the Third Hokage's statue—a lock of his hair—fell silently to the ground.
Her eyes widened.
With his back turned, Feng Ye had casually snapped his finger, and the resulting attack had traveled across dozens of streets to the Hokage Monument!
Just how powerful did one have to be to achieve such a feat?!
"Feng... Feng Ye..."
Anko's bravado had completely evaporated, and her voice was weak as she spoke. "That... the Hokage Monument..."
"Oh, the Third Hokage's statue? Don't worry about it. Do you want to continue?" Feng Ye asked calmly.
Anko: "..."
