Chapter 191: Unless You Drag Me Into the Movie
Chapter 191 Unless You Drag Me Into the Movie
"Jozu!"
Whitebeard cast a glance in that direction, his eyes flashing with anger. Just as he was about to brush past Akainu toward Kuro, sudden sweat trickled down his face. He clutched his chest, his movements freezing.
Marco had been closely monitoring Whitebeard the entire time. As ship's doctor, no one understood Dad's physical condition better.
The worst had happened.
"Damn it!"
Marco turned and sprinted toward him.
Shiueeet!
Two piercing Beams tore through his body from behind.
Lucius Kro pointed a finger, feigning disappointment. "Oh~ Seems you let your guard down."
Marco groaned, collapsing to the ground. In that split second, Akainu gathered a massive amount of lava in his fist and punched straight into Whitebeard's chest.
"Even monsters like you can't escape the ravages of time!"
Boom!
The punch burrowed deep into Whitebeard's chest, lava surging inside him and making his body swell slightly. Internal organs had been scorched.
"Lava brat..."
Whitebeard spat blood from his lips, tightening his grip on the nitoryu. Akainu quickly pulled his fist out, immediately going on guard.
Booooom!!!
A shockwave erupted from Whitebeard's nitoryu. He swung it violently forward. Akainu raised his arms to block, but realized too late the shockwave wasn't aimed at him.
Kuro was just about to strike Jozu down. That guy was extremely annoying - without that moment of carelessness, it wouldn't be possible to cut through his defense with just one strike.
But even a minor wound would suffice. Once his skin was broken, the wind would enter his body and agitate his blood.
After all, this guy's defense was only on his surface - his organs weren't made of diamond.
As he raised his blade, a deafening explosion suddenly erupted beside him. Instinctively, he raised his guard.
Boom!
The violent shockwave blew him away. Kuro grunted, landing near the execution platform with blood dripping from his mouth.
After delivering the strike, Whitebeard swayed unsteadily. Leaning on his Shumotsuki, he bared his teeth at Kuro. "Floating brat, don't lay a hand on my son."
"Old man..."
Kuro glared darkly. Even injured, this monster still had such strength. Whitebeard truly was a monster.
"Don't stand there! Cut off Whitebeard's head!" Sengoku roared from the execution platform.
Deng Shi and the Vice Admirals charged Whitebeard with their weapons.
Some captains engaged in battle with the Navy suddenly became alarmed, trying to rush back. "Dad!"
Boom!
Chi!
Boooom!
Cannonballs, bullets, and blades rained down on Whitebeard during his momentary injury and illness, striking his body one after another.
Whitebeard's head snapped back from the impacts, his eyes blazing with fury. Swinging his blade horizontally, he sent the Navy troops flying, leaving them unconscious on the ground.
"I Don'T Need Help!"
Whitebeard slammed the Shumotsuki heavily into the ground. "Because I AM Whitebeard!"
"Don't come over here - help that Luffy instead!"
He shouted to the captains gathering behind him.
"Dad, watch your back!"
Bissta called out from behind, cautiously glancing at Kuro.
"Floating brat isn't low enough to attack from behind", Whitebeard said, smirking toward Kuro.
"Hmph. I have no interest in underhanded tactics", Kuro scoffed. "Besides, it's not even me who's fighting you."
He could have attacked Whitebeard from behind, but there was no need. As a legendary figure of the Grand Line, he still maintained respect. Plus, he wasn't the one supposed to fight Whitebeard anyway.
At that moment, Luffy was about to reach the execution platform. From within Iva's giant hair where he had been hiding, someone suddenly emerged. Two scissor-like arms slashed the ground, creating a staircase that extended up to the platform.
"It's [Revolutionary Army]'s Lightning!" Navy soldiers shouted in alarm.
Luffy stepped onto the staircase, but just then Garp burst upward, ramming through the staircase and creating a hole. "Luffy, You Can'T GO Any Further!"
"Grandpa, Move Out OF The Way!" Luffy screamed.
"Impossible! This old man is a Navy Vice Admiral!" Garp roared, having fought pirates long before Luffy was even born. "If you want to pass, you'll have to defeat me first!"
He clenched his fist and charged at Luffy. "Luffy! Luffy! Right Now, You'RE MY Enemy!"
Boom!
Their fists collided. Luffy's punch slammed into Garp's face, sending him crashing down.
"Garp, You..."
Sengoku shook his head. "Indeed, even Admirals can't escape family ties."
"Ace!"
After knocking Garp aside, Luffy finally reached the execution platform, preparing to free Ace.
Sengoku narrowed his eyes, inhaled deeply, and his body began glowing with golden light.
Boom!
Suddenly, a foot kicked Luffy off the platform.
"Kuro?!" Sengoku stopped mid-attack, astonished.
Kuro casually slung Autumn Water over his shoulder, lighting a cigar with one hand. Blowing out smoke, he looked at Luffy falling below. "Your Conqueror's Haki certainly gave me trouble. Trying to save people?"
He kicked Mr.3, the one who had been knocked unconscious by Conqueror's Haki beside Ace, sending him flying.
"You!"
Luffy glared upward from below.
Kuro met his gaze without concern. "Unless you drag me into the movie, there's no saving anyone."
"Damn it! Just a little longer!" Marco groaned, watching helplessly.
"I already told you not to let your guard down."
Lucius Kro's voice echoed. Aokiji suddenly appeared beside Marco, his hair transforming into arms that fastened Seastone handcuffs around Marco's wrists.
Shiueet!
Two more Beams pierced Marco's body.
"Captain Marco!" the pirates cried.
Marco and Jozu had both fallen. The remaining pirates gradually retreated under the Navy's assault, showing signs of defeat.
Kuro turned to a nearby Navy soldier. "Hey, send over two more executioners."
The soldier hesitated, then saluted and ran off.
Kuro looked at Ace. "I don't hate you, but I don't really like you either. Can't let you escape though. Dying the same way as your father seems fitting. Don't make that sad face - show some spirit before dying with a smile."
"Kuro..."
Garp stood up, bloodied face, looking complexly at Kuro before sighing and silently stepping aside.
Yes, this was Marineford. He was Navy.
Doing this much favor for his grandson was already his limit.
Of course Kuro wouldn't execute personally - he wouldn't risk making so many enemies. But following protocol to have the executioners perform their duty had nothing to do with him.
As for letting them escape...
Originally Kuro didn't care either way - keeping Whitebeard was enough.
But Luffy's Conqueror's Haki had humiliated him, and being thrown here by Whitebeard's shockwave... If he let them escape now, where would his anger go?
Today, even if Luffy dragged him into the movie, there's no way he'd let anyone escape easily!
