Chapter 191: The Best of the Best — Antharas
Chapter 191: The Best of the Best — Antharas
Two minutes is a tricky span of time. It can feel both long and short.
Three warships raced downstream, rapidly closing in on the Duke's fleet.
During these two minutes, Su Yu calmly selected three out of the seven professions—Mage, Druid, and Assassin.
A Mage was a must-have. Among the 6th Rank powerhouses, Mages had the widest range of offensive capabilities, making them perfect for this situation.
The Druid came next. After unlocking the 6th Rank ability, "Dragon Transformation," Druids could turn into dragons, boasting incredible strength and the fastest flight speed.
As for the Assassin, they were the best at escaping. Su Yu didn't want to transform and enjoy the thrill for just a moment before Turalyon and Jaina cornered him and finished him off.
The random profession on the scroll turned out to be a Priest.
After making his selections, Su Yu shifted his gaze to the enemy fleet ahead, preparing to use the immense power granted by the scroll to break through their defenses.
Of course, he didn't forget to issue a mission to boost his experience gains.
The players immediately received a system notification:
"Beep, player 'Killer' has issued a mission, 'Break Through the Line.' Do you accept?"
"Accept."
"Congratulations, you have triggered the side mission 'Break Through the Line.'"
"Mission Requirements: Assist 'Killer' in breaking through the enemy fleet's interception line."
"Mission Rewards: 900 Experience Points, 6 Psychic Coins."
The players accepted the mission, but they were at a loss, unsure how to assist Killer.
They flooded the chatroom with questions, but no one could provide a reasonable answer.
The Duke's fleet commander, Jason Glick, was thoroughly confused.
He couldn't understand why the Princess's fleet had abandoned their magic crystal cannon fire and instead charged directly at their defensive line.
Their fleet was protected by elemental shields, and the Princess's fleet charging in like this would surely be no match for them.
But he soon understood why.
When the distance between the two fleets narrowed to just 30 meters, a fiery red figure soared into the sky from the Princess's lead ship, unleashing a massive firestorm that raced towards the Duke's fleet like a drill.
This figure was, of course, Su Yu, and he had chosen the 5th Rank fire spell, "Dance of the Flame," which was most effective against magic shields.
Crack!
Crack!
The Duke's fleet's elemental shields held for less than a second before the fiery "drill" tore through them with its piercing damage.
The remaining firestorm surged forward, engulfing the entire fleet and scattering it in disarray.
Taking advantage of this, the Princess's fleet quickly broke through the enemy's interception line without any resistance.
"Beep, mission 'Break Through the Line' completed." The players received the game notification.
They were stunned. The mission was completed so quickly? Was this experience just being handed out?
Some players recognized the towering figure who had broken through the enemy's defenses and shouted in the chatroom:
"Look, it's Boss K! Boss K destroyed the enemy's defense with a single strike!"
"It's really Boss K! How can he fly, and his spells are so powerful!"
"Hehe! Killer isn't holding back anymore. This isn't a cheat, is it?"
"This is definitely a cheat, flying and one-shotting. I've already recorded it."
"Um, it's not a cheat," Snow Leopard explained in the chatroom. "Killer used a 6th Rank transformation scroll. Just keep watching, don't jump to conclusions about cheating."
...
The sudden turn of events below was also noticed by the aerial commanders.
Morningstar, seeing Su Yu's impressive display, was exhilarated and unleashed a starlit breath that forced Jaina back by several dozen meters.
Turalyon frowned. "How did another 6th Rank powerhouse appear? Landith, what's going on?"
Before Landith could respond, Antharas spoke up. "If I'm not mistaken, someone must have used a 6th Rank experience scroll."
"Rest assured, we'll proceed according to the original plan."
Before Antonidas finished speaking, he had already vanished, reappearing instantly on the deck of the princess's flagship.
Another Blink! And Antonidas's Blink can teleport him hundreds of meters in an instant! The power of a Grandmaster is truly terrifying!
Xifan, Morning Star, and Shu He were taken aback and hurried to reinforce their side.
But it was too late.
A massive, nearly hundred-meter-wide bright white teleportation array unfolded over the river, instantly engulfing the six large ships of the princess's fleet.
Su Yu was shocked and immediately cast a fourth-tier Fire spell, Flame Lance, hurling it at Antonidas.
Unfortunately, the Flame Lance struck Antonidas's Spatial Barrier without even causing a ripple.
The giant teleportation array burst into blinding white light, beginning the teleportation process.
Su Yu didn't have time to think; he used Blink to escape the array's range.
As soon as he reappeared, he turned around and saw that the six warships and Antonidas had vanished, enveloped in the white light of the teleportation.
"Hold on," Su Yu clutched the temporary staff given by the system, his mind reeling, "Is this the power of Antonidas?"
Even though he was boosted to the same sixth tier by the scroll, the gap between their sixth tiers seemed insurmountable!
Antonidas's Mass Teleport spell left everyone in awe.
The most surprised, however, were the ten thousand players recruited by Antonidas through the portal.
After arriving in Kashi Town, they had been waiting idly in formation under Antonidas's command until now.
But at that moment, a large expanse of white teleportation light appeared in front of them, and the six large ships were directly teleported to their location!
The players finally realized that the NPC had recruited them for this very purpose.
...
Because the ships were wide at the top and narrow at the bottom, they all tipped to one side when they touched the ground after the teleportation.
The NPCs and players on the ships were thrown into chaos.
Some managed to jump off the ships, while others were trapped inside, creating a chaotic scene.
At that moment, the players from both the Duke's side and the Princess's side received a game notification:
"Congratulations, you have triggered the scenario side quest: Eliminate the Enemy."
"Quest Requirements: Eliminate enemy players."
"Quest Reward: Gain 1 experience point for each enemy player eliminated in the team."
The players were taken aback; they hadn't expected the player-versus-player combat to be like this.
The NPCs had gathered both sides in the same area for a large-scale battle? Ten thousand versus one thousand?
But that wasn't entirely accurate; the "one thousand" side had NPC forces assisting them, and the outcome was still uncertain.
...
After the teleportation ended, Antonidas flew into the sky and examined a golden badge in his hand.
Advanced Equality Badge (Consumable)
Remaining uses: 1
Effect: Stacks the levels of all targets within a 40-meter radius and then evenly distributes them among all targets. Duration: 30 minutes.
This golden badge was given to him before the operation, and now he finally understood:
"Indeed, my guess was correct. We need to use otherworldly adventurers to fight otherworldly adventurers!"
Without hesitation, Antonidas activated the badge and threw it in the middle of the three warships belonging to the princess's side.
A golden wave of light spread out from the badge, covering the three warships.
The princess's personal guards, naval forces, and players who were hit by the light had their levels averaged and drastically reduced, stopping at level 18.
Faced with the Duke's players, these level 18 NPCs no longer had any advantage.
