Chapter 191: Stirring Things Up
Chapter 191: Stirring Things Up
Wang Si, Na'er, and Nali quickly chose three adjacent simulation cabins and buckled themselves in. The hatches above closed automatically, plunging them into darkness.
Soon, specks of starlight illuminated the interior, seemingly caused by some peculiar spatial fluctuation. The egg-shaped simulator seemed to start rotating, emitting gentle energy waves.
Having frequently visited the Spirit Ascending Platform at the Forgers' Association, Wang Si was already accustomed to this sensation. Soon enough, a wave of dizziness washed over him, but he endured it until it passed.
When he opened his eyes, Wang Si found himself in a dense forest; at least, that was what he could discern from his landing spot, as there didn't seem to be anyone else around.
However, instead of looking for others, he knew they would come to him.
He invoked his martial soul, and golden scales covered the front half of his body.
A boy who had been hanging from a tree, holding a thin wire, paused, startled.
The boy also had three soul rings—one purple ring that concealed his body, and another that allowed him to shift instantly.
Bang! A ball of light and shadow dissipated, and this assassin-like boy was eliminated.
Wang Si turned and punched the tall tree beside him.
A student who witnessed the power of Wang Si's punch wanted to run away, but the tree came crashing down, and Wang Si's palm, still pressed against the tree, accelerated its fall.
Boom! The student wasn't hit by the falling tree, but he was still drenched in cold sweat from the near miss.
Not giving him time to breathe a sigh of relief, a pebble blasted his head, eliminating him.
In less than five seconds from the start, two people had been knocked out.
Confident that he had made enough of a ruckus, Wang Si sat down by the fallen tree and casually picked up a dozen pebbles to play with.
"I don't get you guys," he said. "At a time like this, shouldn't you all be ganging up on me?"
A pebble flew from Wang Si's hand, and a muffled hum came from a figure hiding behind a tree in the distance.
The pebble pierced the student's calf, not giving him any chance to feel lucky, and another pebble embedded itself in his brow.
"It's not that I look down on you agility-attack types," Wang Si continued, "but for the position of class monitor, some of you guys who like to hide in the dark really don't need to compete..."
"Who are you yelling at?"
Just as Wang Si was enthusiastically advising the hidden figures, three figures emerged from the other side of the jungle.
There were two boys and a girl, all of them with soul rings. Their soul ring configurations were all the same: two yellow and one purple.
The girl in front had emerald green hair, a radiant face, and an arrogant air about her. Her beauty was not as exceptional as Na'er's, but her haughtiness more than made up for it.
On the girl's right arm was coiled a greenish-black snake, its body emitting a dark aura.
The two boys following the girl had medium builds and ordinary appearances, but they were identical.
It was clear at a glance that they had a martial soul fusion skill.
Seeing Wang Si's arrogance, the girl became even more proud, tilting her chin up.
"I'm Zheng Yiran," she declared. "You'd better withdraw now and save me the trouble of fighting you. I've decided that I want to be class monitor."
The girl pointed at Wang Si and ordered the boys, "Zhang Long, Zhang Hu, get rid of this annoying guy."
"Yes, Miss," the boys replied in unison.
The two boys moved swiftly, their first soul rings lighting up simultaneously as a chilly aura enveloped them.
They performed their martial soul fusion skill, and their faces took on a greenish-black hue.
Their three soul rings were faintly tinged with viridescent light, and wherever they stepped, the ground turned pitch-black and the surrounding vegetation withered.
Zhang Long and Zhang Hu each lifted a foot, and at the tip of their toes were sharp, viridescent spikes that resembled a snake's fangs.
It looked bizarre to have a snake's fangs on their feet; it would be even more terrifying if they had them in their mouths.
The thought of those two grown men charging towards you with their mouths wide open was simply unimaginable!
Wang Si casually threw two pebbles at these two blockheads rushing straight at him, causing them to vanish into white lights.
"You!!!"
The girl in the distance stared at Wang Si, dumbfounded. She never expected that her brothers' deadly poison would have no effect on this guy.
"On the battlefield, only those who are alive are qualified to deal damage. Glass cannons like you, with no margin for error, what use are you?"
The girl was so angry that her face turned purple.
Wang Si didn't give her time to react and suddenly propelled himself forward like a tank, charging straight at Zheng Yiran.
"You're asking for death!"
The girl flew into a rage, and her body flashed with light as it, too, was covered in a viridescent hue, indicating even stronger toxicity than her brothers'.
The little viridescent snake coiled around her arm shone with bright green light, and a mouthful of green fog was spat towards Wang Si.
Wang Si didn't even bother to dodge the fog, as he was well aware of his current poison resistance.
As Wang Si charged forward, the girl's eyes turned cold, showing no signs of evading his attack.
Just as Wang Si's punch was about to connect with her body, she suddenly went limp, as if all her bones had disappeared.
She extended her arm, intending to stick it to Wang Si's fist, but at that moment, his fist had already turned into a palm.
Viridescent light flickered around the girl, and it was impossible to tell which soul skill she was using as she swiftly wrapped herself around Wang Si, binding him tightly.
Smack!
A slap landed, and the atmosphere turned awkward.
"Tsk, am I out of touch with society? You just came at me and wrapped yourself around me like that. Do you have some kind of fetish?"
The girl's face turned bright red at his words, and she looked so soft that she seemed about to drip water.
In order to end the battle quickly, the girl's right hand turned viridescent, and five "fangs" grew out of it as she reached for Wang Si's neck.
At the same time, the viridescent snake on her arm burst with a jade-like radiance and spat a mouthful of green fog directly at Wang Si's head.
Wang Si merely reached out and pinched the little snake to death, then let the girl's "claw" land on his neck with a "ding" sound.
"I gave you a chance, and you still messed up."
Wang Si wrapped his arm around the snake-girl's soft and boneless waist with one arm and broke one of her arms with the other.
"What do you say, if something were to happen here, wouldn't it be stimulating?"
The girl's eyes widened in shock, and she looked at Wang Si with disbelief.
"Don't rush off at noon, I want to see how flexible your waist is..."
Bang!
Not giving the girl time to react, she turned into a white light and disappeared.
(Don't chase, guys. I feel guilty about taking your money.)
