Chapter 191: Fortune
Chapter 191: Fortune
Qiao Sang couldn't believe that she had encountered two rare familiars in such a short time, when they were usually so hard to come by.
She wondered if the lost Crown Cat had been found yet...
"Let's head back", Qiao Sang said, turning to Treasure Seeker.
Treasure Seeker, with a mouth full of food, could only look at its Beastmaster with a pitiful expression.
"Do you want to play a bit longer?" Qiao Sang asked.
Treasure Seeker nodded vigorously.
"Then let's stay a while longer", Qiao Sang said, checking the time on her mobile phone.
It was only 8:34 PM, and for many, the night was just getting started.
"Seek~"
Treasure Seeker swallowed the sausage in its mouth and happily circled around its Beastmaster.
Then it sipped its milk tea and swayed its butt to the rhythm of the music.
Seeing Treasure Seeker's good sense of rhythm, Qiao Sang praised, "You're doing great."
"Seek~"
Treasure Seeker swayed even more energetically.
Qiao Sang couldn't help but chuckle.
Every day was filled with monotonous training, and it felt nice to relax a bit.
But the one who trained the hardest was probably Fangy. Should she summon Fangy to relax as well?
As Qiao Sang hesitated, a young father nearby knelt down and placed his mobile phone in front of his daughter, whispering, "Do you think it looks like the Crown Cat in this picture?"
The little girl, about five or six years old with short hair, looked at the photo on the phone and then at the Crown Cat in front of her, exclaiming, "It does!"
The young father quickly covered his daughter's mouth, fearing they might draw attention.
Seeing that no one was paying attention, he breathed a sigh of relief, his face lighting up with excitement. "Thanks to your insistence on coming out to play, we're about to get rich!"
"Why?" the little girl asked.
"We'll talk about it when we get home", the father said, ruffling her hair. "Dad has to do something important, and it might get a bit chaotic. Don't run around, and if you behave, I'll buy you the Fangflare model you like."
The little girl's bright eyes twinkled. "I want the Flame Listener."
"Sure thing!" the father said generously.
Once he rescues the Crown Cat, he could buy a real Fangflare and have it evolve into a Flame Listener, no problem!
The young father looked at the Crown Cat, which was enjoying a violin performance, his eyes filled with determination.
The reward for providing information was 200,000, and for escorting it home, it was 1,000,000. Even a fool would know which to choose.
He made a hand sign, still retaining his middle schooler's enthusiasm despite being a father.
"Desert-Tail Fox, it's time for us to fight for justice!"
At the same time, Qiao Sang summoned Fangy after a brief struggle.
Under the Gray Star Array, the white and red figure of Fangy immediately drew the attention of most people around.
"Mom, what kind of familiar is that?"
"It's called something like... Flame..."
"Flame Listener", someone nearby completed for her.
"Right, it's a Flame Listener!"
"Is it a Flame Listener? I think we only have one in Hanggang right now."
"I see it too. The girl with the ponytail is its Beastmaster. Should we go take a picture?"
"Hold on! What's that Treasure Seeker doing beside it?!"
"Maybe we should just leave it..."
"Yah!"
Fangy let out an excited bark as soon as it appeared.
Noticing that many people were looking at it, Fangy quickly lifted its head and adjusted its posture.
"Fangy, I got you some milk tea and sausages. See if you like them", Qiao Sang said, inserting a straw into the milk tea.
“Ya Ya!”
Fangy’s eyes lit up, and she instantly forgot about her dignity, half-sitting on the ground and nodding happily.
“Xun~”
Treasure Seeker held up the bamboo skewer left over from the roasted sausage, showing it to her Beastmaster, indicating that she wanted more.
“Everyone will get some.” Qiao Sang smiled and handed out the food to them.
“Big sister, is Flame Listener yours?” a young voice asked from the side.
Qiao Sang turned to see a little girl, about five or six years old.
“Yes, it is.” Qiao Sang replied.
The little girl got excited. “Can I pet it?”
“Fangy?” Qiao Sang asked with her eyes.
“Ya.”
Fangy immediately understood her Beastmaster’s meaning, nodding to show that it was fine.
“It’s okay,” Qiao Sang said with a smile, looking at the little girl.
The little girl extended her small, tender hand and gently petted Flame Listener, looking very satisfied.
Qiao Sang noticed that no adults were with her and asked, “Where are your parents?”
“My mom went to play mahjong, and my dad went to do something important,” the little girl replied.
Qiao Sang was puzzled. “Who brought you here, then?”
“My dad,” the little girl said.
Qiao Sang was taken aback. “What important thing is your dad doing?”
The little girl pointed to one of the two people arguing nearby, the taller one, and blurted out everything she knew:
“That’s my dad. I don’t know what he’s doing, but he said our family is going to get rich and that he’ll buy me a Flame Listener model when we get home.”
Qiao Sang stared in the direction the little girl pointed, her mind racing. She quickly figured out what the girl’s father was up to.
No way, it’s absolutely impossible!
Qiao Sang felt a pang of anxiety.
There’s no way that Crown Cat could be the one that got lost! She couldn’t be that unlucky to miss out on 200,000 yuan and then 1,000,000 yuan right after.
She refused to believe it and perked up her ears to listen to the commotion.
Fortunately, the argument was loud enough, and the people around them fell silent, drawn in by the spectacle. The only sound was the violin music playing in the background.
“Are you crazy!”
“You’re the one who’s crazy!”
“What did you do, making Desert-Tail Fox attack me for no reason!”
“You Beast Trafficker, stealing someone’s Crown Cat and acting so arrogant! I already called the police, so get ready to go to jail!”
“Your brain must be fried! Open your eyes and look clearly! This is Ironclaw, not Crown Cat!”
“Iron-Iron…” Ironclaw nodded.
The sound “Crown Cat” made left the young father stunned.
It took him a while to regain his voice. “You, you fart, how can Ironclaw be like this?”
“Do you even know what cosplay is? You can’t tell the difference between Ironclaw and Crown Cat and you’re trying to catch a Beast Trafficker? That’s hilarious!”
“…”
So it’s not a Crown Cat… Qiao Sang’s mood improved, and she couldn’t help but smile.
Ironclaw and Crown Cat are similar in size, and if they’re dressed up, it’s easy to confuse them.
During the day, the differences are noticeable, but at night, it’s hard to tell without a close look.
“Big sister, there’s a familiar keeping an eye on us. Do you know it?” the little girl asked, pointing to something.
Qiao Sang followed her gaze and shook her head instinctively. “No… Damn!”
The large head, short limbs, and hook-shaped tail—it looked like Ironclaw, but the bag hanging around its neck was the same one Crown Cat had last night!
The little girl, seeing Qiao Sang’s dazed expression, called out, “Big sister?”
“Rich…” Qiao Sang murmured.
The little girl: “???”
