Chapter 191: Dragon Cat Battle (First Update)
Chapter 191: Dragon Cat Battle (First Update)
Teacher Berry gave Hass a stern talking-to, forbidding him from using foul language in front of the children, before the dinner table could finally return to its peaceful state.
At that moment, the TV switched to a live broadcast of Thor's daytime crime-fighting videos.
Thor and Jerry had entirely different combat styles. Thor was more aggressive and caused significantly more destruction.
Jerry usually spotted criminals from the air and would quickly incapacitate them with a Full Body Bind Curse and a Sleeping Charm. Ordinary people had no way to resist his Magic.
When facing more formidable opponents or a group of gunmen, he would rely on dodging and surprise attacks, rarely engaging in direct confrontations.
In contrast, Thor would simply descend from the sky with his hammer, sending people flying with a single swing or kicking them away with a powerful aerial kick.
When the enemy's firepower was intense, he would still charge in head-on with his hammer. Bullets bounced off his armor without leaving a mark, unless they used something like a rocket launcher.
As a result, after Thor stopped a crime, the criminals were often in bad shape, and the surrounding area suffered significant damage.
"Jerry, if you ever encounter a situation like this, run away immediately. Safety is the most important thing!"
Teacher Berry, watching the intense scenes on TV, reminded Jerry.
She knew Jerry was a very courageous and just child, but she didn't want him to get involved in these dangerous events at such a young age.
"I understand!"
Jerry snapped out of his thoughts at Teacher Berry's reminder.
He had been thinking that the authorities denying the existence of Gods and Magic by having the police chief speak out suggested they weren't ready to reveal Asgard and Magic to the public.
As long as the authorities didn't acknowledge it, even if many citizens had their suspicions, it wouldn't be a big issue.
However, this didn't really bother Jerry. Whether he was a Mage or a magician, it wouldn't affect his ability to earn red stars. Besides, such secrets couldn't be kept for long. Once Thanos's army arrived, the citizens would know everything.
"Speaking of which, Thor is quite the show-off!"
Jerry was speechless as he watched Thor pose with his hammer after dealing with the robbers in a jewelry store.
"Actually, I think it's great to have wizards and superheroes like Thor. At least I can go home on time every day, and the citizens' safety is much better guaranteed!"
Hass took a sip of soup and sighed.
After wizards appeared, although the police station was chaotic for a while, the workload did decrease. However, wizards mostly operated at night, so the days were still quite busy.
Now, with Thor, who preferred daytime actions, they had coverage both day and night.
Hearing Hass's comment, Jerry nodded in agreement.
Indeed, convincing Thor to become a superhero had been effective.
When he initially persuaded Thor to become a superhero, part of the reason was to prevent him from staying home all day watching soap operas and getting recalled by Odin. The more significant reason, however, was to improve New York's daytime security.
As a police officer, especially as the sheriff, one might not encounter much danger in a normal lifetime.
But this was the Marvel world, where any scientist might create a monster, or a witch, Aliens, or demons might appear.
He needed to study Magic and couldn't always follow Hass around.
Having Thor, who could fly around New York all day without much to do, improved the city's security, ensured Hass's safety, and wouldn't raise suspicions from S.H.I.E.L.D.
With Thorthor's strength, ordinary antagonist roles were truly no match for him.
After dinner, Jerry had just returned to his room when the Two-Faced Mirror, hidden by a Disguise Charm around his waist, suddenly emitted a wave of Magic.
A thought crossed his mind, and he immediately guessed that S.H.I.E.L.D. must have completed the modifications on the mechanical soldiers.
He took out the Box and leaped inside.
In the Box Space, Jerry established a Magic connection with the Two-Faced Mirror.
A moment later, Coulson's handsome three-seven part hairstyle appeared in the mirror.
"Miss Wizard, we've completed the repairs and modifications on your mechanical soldiers. Should we send them to you, or will you come to collect them?"
Coulson pulled the mirror back to reveal a row of newly refurbished robot soldiers behind him.
Jerry thought for a moment and replied:
"No need to trouble you. I'll come to collect them. Is the location still the same as before?"
"The location has changed, but it's still in this area of the sea. The new coordinates are Xxxx."
Coulson, fearing Jerry might not hear, pulled his face closer to the mirror.
"I, I got it. I'll be right there."
Before Jerry could finish his sentence, he was interrupted by Crookshanks' meow from under his feet.
It turned out that Crookshanks had been chased around by Norbert, who immediately ran over to Jerry to lodge a complaint upon seeing him.
"Binding Spell!"
Seeing Norbert, who had grown to the size of a small house, spraying small flames and chasing Crookshanks towards him, Jerry shook his head in exasperation. With a wave of his wand, a thick rope appeared, temporarily binding Norbert's legs.
"Who made you scratch me when you were born? Now you can't win, can you!"
With another wave of his wand, Jerry used a Levitation Charm to float the mirror in the air and picked up Crookshanks.
"Roar!"
With his dragon claws bound, Norbert flapped his wings and let out a dragon roar, seemingly trying to use his newly learned dragon fire on Jerry.
Fire Dragons are naturally temperamental creatures. Even if raised from a young age, there's no guarantee they won't attack you.
"Did I hear a cat and something that sounds like a dinosaur roar?"
Coulson, hearing the sounds from the other side of the mirror, looked puzzled.
After calming Crookshanks, Jerry leaned back into the mirror to explain:
"Sorry, I was just watching a new movie called 'Jurassic Park: The Battle of Totoro.'"
He gave a perfunctory explanation and then got back to the point:
"Alright, I'll be there soon. See you!"
He cut off the Magic connection, and the mirror went dark.
Looking at Norbert, who had been calmed by Sun Long with some meat, Jerry realized that he needed to start learning Dragon Taming Magic as soon as possible.
Now that Norbert could spray small flames, he would likely be able to unleash powerful dragon fire in about two months. If Jerry couldn't fully control him by then, he might lose the Box Space villa to a single outburst of temper.
On the other side, Coulson muttered to himself as he watched the mirror go dark:
"A new Jurassic Park movie? How come I haven't seen it? And that English-style architecture, where in New York is this?"
It turned out that when Jerry bent down to pick up Crookshanks, Coulson had seen the classical English-style villa behind him through the Two-Faced Mirror.
