Chapter 190: Eighth-Rank War Inspector
Chapter 190: Eighth-Rank War Inspector
"Find them! Where did those pilots go?" In one of the ships, a Skrull officer barked in a fit of rage.
"Yes, sir." The nearby Skrull soldiers immediately began searching.
The officer didn't waste any time either. He forced open the ship's control panel and used his authority to search for information on the pilots.
Soon, the results came in.
"Cryopods? They actually went to the cryopods to request hibernation?!" The Skrull officer was utterly baffled.
The cryopods on the ship were designed for large animals and high-ranking Skrull warriors, allowing for significant energy savings when used properly.
These pilots were at most second-rank; how could they possibly use the cryopods?
And why were their requests to enter the cryopods approved so quickly?
The Skrull officer was thoroughly confused and quickly contacted the officers on the other ships.
After communicating with them, his heart sank. The pilots on the other ships had also gone to the cryopods! Not a single one was outside.
What was going on?
Could it be that the human from Earth had tampered with something?
The Skrull officer trembled from head to toe.
Su Yu confidently floated in mid-air.
The Skrulls had a very detailed system of permissions. Only the two pilots and the fleet's main and deputy commanders had the authority to take the ships out.
Any other Skrull would need at least half an hour of complex verification to even think about taking a ship.
So Su Yu wasn't worried about them escaping.
Looking down at the chaotic base, Su Yu cleared his throat and shouted in the Skrull common language:
"All Skrulls, listen up! You are surrounded! Drop your weapons and raise your hands to come out of the ships, and I'll spare your lives. Otherwise, you'll face the consequences!"
Amplified by his magic, his voice echoed throughout the entire base.
Su Yu chose to offer surrender rather than slaughtering all the Skrulls because he was afraid they might destroy the ship's equipment in a last-ditch effort.
Moreover, living captives were more valuable than dead bodies and could be used as bargaining chips in the future.
...
"?? How can a human from Earth speak our Skrull language?"
"Maybe it's some kind of mimicry technique."
"Indeed, a powerful sixth-rank being."
Hearing Su Yu's voice, many of the Skrulls' green faces paled.
Sixth-rank beings were not common; there were only about 700 sixth-rank Skrulls, known as the "Seven Hundred Saints."
Each of the "Seven Hundred Saints" was an invincible existence, so in the presence of a sixth-rank being like Su Yu, they had no thoughts of resistance.
Furthermore, they couldn't launch the ships in a short time and had no chance of leaving Earth before Su Yu killed them.
With this in mind, several Skrull officers gritted their teeth, threw their weapons to the ground, and stepped out of the ships with their hands raised high: "We surrender, we hope you spare our lives, sir!"
Seeing the lead, others quickly followed. Skrulls from various ships raised their hands and walked out one after another.
Of course, there were still some Skrulls in the ships who were hesitant.
Su Yu smiled, changed to the [Assassin] class, and charged into one of the ships, slaughtering everyone inside.
By the time he returned to the sky with his blood-soaked dagger, only 25 seconds had passed.
"I'm warning you one last time. Drop your weapons and surrender now, or you will die!" Su Yu's cold voice echoed throughout the base.
The Skrulls below, seeing the blood dripping from Su Yu's dagger, trembled in fear, not daring to breathe, and obediently chose to surrender.
Another three minutes passed, and two figures—one in yellow and one in black—arrived swiftly on flying swords from the horizon.
Seeing these two figures, Su Yu let out a long sigh of relief.
He had only four minutes left of the transformation from the scroll. If these two hadn't come, he would have had to flee in disgrace.
The two figures who arrived were none other than Cao Chancellor, dressed in a black robe, and Zhu Guorui, a square-faced elder in a yellow robe.
"Little friend Su Yu! We're here!" Cao Chancellor called out from a distance.
"Greetings, honored seniors!" Su Yu bowed respectfully.
He held Zhu Guorui in particularly high regard.
In the previous life, Zhu Guorui had been a pillar of strength in the war against the Skrulls. Moreover, he was the only emperor in history to rise from a peasant background to the throne, which made Su Yu admire him greatly.
"Honored seniors, most of the Skrulls have surrendered and dropped their weapons. Only a small group is still putting up resistance. However, I've already eliminated those above the third rank. The rest I leave to you."
"Don't worry! We can handle these lowly soldiers." Cao Chancellor smiled, and a bright green ring flew from his hand, spinning in the air and transforming into a green rope.
The green rope lengthened rapidly in the wind, eventually stretching to a hundred meters long, binding the surrendering Skrulls tightly.
Zhu Guorui also took action.
He pulled out a golden scroll from his sleeve, resembling an imperial edict.
The scroll unfurled, releasing a brilliant golden light. The Skrulls not bound by the rope were instantly immobilized by the light.
In just a moment, nearly a hundred Skrulls were under their control.
Su Yu glanced at the scroll.
It had 3 minutes and 48 seconds left. He needed to complete one final task in these last few minutes.
Su Yu shot up into the sky, flying over a hundred meters high, and cupped his hands toward the surroundings. "Inspector, we humans have taken control of this psychic spring. Can you now seal the spatial rift?"
The last task Su Yu needed to complete was sealing the spatial rift. Otherwise, the Skrulls would eventually return through it, making their occupation here meaningless.
As he spoke, a blue figure materialized 50 meters in front of him.
This was a blue-skinned humanoid, dressed in a light white robe with golden trim. His face resembled a human's, but he had five long tentacles under his chin, much like the Draenei race from a game called World of Warcraft.
He was the Inspector of the Singer civilization.
However, he wasn't the "Game Inspector" mentioned earlier but the "War Inspector."
The Game Inspector was a sixth-rank powerhouse, but this War Inspector was an eighth-rank one!
He oversaw all wars between civilizations and had the authority to punish any cheating.
The last time the Skrulls cheated by leaving the designated area, he had unleashed a destructive beam that obliterated their entire fleet.
"It is an honor to meet you, Inspector." Su Yu bowed deeply.
"Human, you have done well!" The War Inspector nodded with a smile. "Based on the current situation, you have indeed taken control of this psychic spring. According to the game rules, I will help you seal the spatial rift."
With that, he raised his right hand, and a blue beam shot from his palm, striking the spatial rift.
The rift rapidly shrank.
A minute later, it vanished completely, like chalk marks erased from a blackboard, and the sky returned to its clear state.
